About this mod

Perched on a ridge high above the Whiterun tundra stands the grey watchtower of Barad Mithost. An LOTR inspired home for a mid to end game character.

Permissions and credits
This is an SSE release of a very old house mod from LE with some modifications and fixes I made several years ago for my own use.  It was my first and, as a result, last venture into modding homes in the CK (ah, good times).  As it uses only vanilla assets, the interior is very lore-friendly and as such contains no textures or meshes, just an esp with a lovely aesthetic.  I'd always hoped someone with more expertise would have taken the reins on this home since the original author has had open permissions for improvements for several years, but as that has never happened, I offer my own humble version.  Please visit the Barad Mithost mod on LE for more specifics.

LOCATION - NW of Whiterun and due north of Silent Moons Camp.   Stick to the east side of the camp and go around the back of it.  Look for a series of long stairs (see images for more detail).  There's usually a bear back there, so be careful if you are low level.

FEATURES FROM ORIGINAL MOD:
- Full Smithy (Anvil, Skyforge, Grindstone, Workbench, Tanning Rack)
- Alchemy Room (Alchemy Station, Cooking Spit) with Satchel and Storage Containers
- Main Hall with Weapon Mounts, Shield Mounts, 8 Dragon Mask Busts, Storage Containers, Mannequins and decorative Nordic mural walls
- Enchanting Room/ Armory (Enchanting Station)
- Library with shelves for 378 books, plus more shelves for 44 books in the living room for a grand total of 422 books!
- Map Room for planning your next adventure
- Living/ Dining/ Hearth Room. Sit back, relax and enjoy the comforts after a long day adventuring- Cozy Bedroom with double bed
- Tower Entryway with connecting door to the Tower Courtyard and a ladder to the Balcony

WHAT I CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL:
- Removed the wood cutting block and placed two follower beds in the area.  These beds are not for children.  Given how high up the home is, along with the steep stairs and lack of play yard, it's not really fit for kids.
- Added well-rested bonus to all beds.  Note, you will not see a message about it after sleeping but will see the applied bonus in your active effects.
- Removed some partitions in the master bedroom as they just got in my way.
- Removed some clutter in the cooking/alchemy room and added a kitchen table
- Confirmed in CK all containers were set to not respawn i.e. safe storage.
- Set entire home as "NoRespawnZone" to resolve items disappearing.
- Cleaned mod in xEdit and restored navmesh that had been deleted.

KNOWN ISSUES:This mod uses the dragon mask display that is found in Labyrinthian. The Labyrinthian display is known not to return masks to your inventory if you attempt to remove them so that can occur here as well.  Personally, this is not an issue for me as I never want the masks back once I display them.  However, I've included an optional batch file to obtain the vanilla masks if you want to re-acquire them or to just use for the display. The house uses vanilla weapon and armor stands, so any issues that exist with them in a vanilla game can occur in the home.  The weapon racks don't seem to like certain staves and you may find them floating in the air instead of on the rack, which then seems to make the activator not work.  To resolve it, walk close and jump as seen in this video.

Thank you to Febrith Darkstar for featuring the home on your channel:
