I had really gotten addicted to this MOD since release. When you play a lot of Skyrim (new characters over and over again over time), the tedium of selling junk really gets old. I've never seen another MOD that makes things so easy, with the only flaw being this is only for Lake View manor. For the first time in many games, the auto sell chest failed to work on a new game. The "sell" trigger (every 24 hours) wasn't triggering.
I was able to fix is by: -Uninstalling the mod -Loading a game and saving it -Reinstalling the mod.
Awesome mod, thank you (I would love it not be immediate though, be more immersive if it took a couple of days).
For the issue it's just for Lakeview, this is what I did. More of a hot mess than a hot fix :)
First, I only have Lakeview on a minor character lol, so I beamed into LV and sure enough there was the chest, I consoled it. In my game the ids are F900386E and F9000D64. I loaded up my main save whose Hearthfire home is Windstad. I use Jaxonz positioner converted and renamer.
So, I used the command player.placeatme to beam in the chest (I'm sure there's a better option but that's how I made it work), then J's positioner to put it where I wanted. And lastly Renamer to rename it "Sigurd-Picks-Me-Up" :) My fav shop is Belethor's :)
There's a copy function with JP, I don't know if it works on the Auto-Sell yet, sometimes the scripts don't follow through.
That's awesome you were able to move the chest! I suspect copying would not work well with the script. If I get some spare time I might look into adding a chest to every home - I would want to test that each chest sells correctly, and the messages at the top-left of the screen make sense etc.
It's a good point that immediate selling is not realistic and even a day's delay would be better. I made the mod for my own benefit when I was already at the point of not really needing anymore, I didn't test how the mod played in the early game where money was very important.
It helped me too. I used More Informative Console to found an ID and got the same result. Chest was copied after I entered player.placeatme command. Also, I cheked their usability and they work fine. I mean you can put a goods in both of them and they work properly or you can use one of them and it also be ok.
An awesome additon to this mod would allow the placing of this chest anywhere, or at least in any home. I own several and would like a chest like this at all of them.
If I find time (big "if" at the moment lol) I'll take a look at doing this. It should be easy but if I do it I'd like to test that each chest works and there's no bugs if the player uses multiple of them at the same time. Thanks for the feedback!
Hiya, I just came upon a mod that might help with that- Fish Plaque Fix, apparently Bethesda only used Lakeview for such objects (your fish plaques will only work in one house). Maybe you could use this mod, just swap chests for fish plaques? (Maybe Base Object Swapper too?)
it'd be cool if this system existed in the actual shops. drop off your items in merchant chest and come back later to pick up gold. cuts out the tedium of having to sell every single item to the merchant and feels immersive since the chest is right there for the merchant to deal with
That's a nice idea, it makes sense for the chest to be with the merchant. If I remember correctly, this is how the auto seller mod I had in Morrowind (that inspired this mod) worked.
This mod is a pickle, because it's only useful when you don't have a speech skill of 100. What I mean by that is, if you actually have speech at 100, you should be so flush with coin that picking up junk (or almost anything) is pointless. That reality negates any benefit of the mod. It would actually be more useful if the chest was an "auto destroy" chest for junk, just like in some other player home mods.
The concept is awesome though, because it's a time saver. I swear the original game designers seemed to be focused on only the first play through of this game.
My Thoughts: Step 1: Add a second "auto destroy" chest to complete the set (options, we love options...). Step 2: Remove the auto sell feature, and add a button to trigger a sell off in the next 24 hours (necessary so step 3 doesn't become annoying). Step 3: When the items are sold off, based on a manually triggered button press and 24 hours later, leave the coin and a one time read (and destroy) book that adds the equivalent speech experience from selling off the items (this is 100% possible). Step 4: When the chest sell is button triggered, destroy the special skill book in the chest first, if it's still there (because with speech at 100, you'll stop reading the one time use equivalent speech skill increase book).
