About this mod

This mod gives an ability to glide (not fly).

So, one day I was looking for some mods that would allow my character to slowly, gracefully glide from heights without using any extra items. I found some flying mods, tried them, but didn't like them enough. So I decided to create my own one. Here is what I managed to make.

Fair warning

I developed this mod while playing Enderal Special Edition, so I'm not entirely sure it would work in Skyrim exactly the same way it works in Enderal. It should tho.

Requirements

If you want your gliding to be gliding, you'll need:
Meshes\Actors\Character\Animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\2147483647\

  • Open Animation Replacer - The folder structure as well as conditions file are present in my mod. You'll find it here:
Meshes\Actors\Character\Animations\OpenAnimationReplacer\Glide\Glide
  • Smooth Random Jump Animation (v2.1 (not a Rework!) (Look for it in Old Files section)) - You'll need three specific animation files, which are:
    Meshes\Actors\Character\Animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\9712\mt_jumpfall.hkx
    Meshes\Actors\Character\Animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\9751\mt_jump.hkx
    Meshes\Actors\Character\Animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\9751\mt_jumpfast.hkx
Put these files into folder mentioned above and that's it.

And three mods I highly recommend using:

How to get -> Glide Tome -> Glide Power -> Glide Ability

    • Once you've installed the mod, you can use AddItemMenu or QUI or whatever to get a Glide Tome which upon reading grants your character a Glide Power. That, or you can just add the spell through console:
    Player.AddSpell XX000D63
XX being the load number of the mod.

    • Once you've acquired a Glide Power spell, just cast it to turn on/off the Glide Ability.
    • Once you've cast Glide Power to turn the ability on, you can now start gliding just by jumping.

    Glide

Well, I think the process is quite simple and intuitive. Jump off the cliff, glide down to the ground, no falling damage taken. When your character lands, the effect will dissipate after a few seconds. Rinse, repeat.

    MCM Menu

Glide is somewhat configurable. You can adjust:

    • The cost. You can choose which stat and how much per second the gliding process would consume:
    • Nothing
    • Magicka
    • Stamina
    • Health
Be aware that if your character runs out of magicka/stamina during glide, the effect would immediately end, resulting in free falling. Which is most likely result in death.

    • Visual Effects. Glide comes in four flavors:
    • Nothing
    • Blue
    • Gold
    • Gray
    • There's also a separate option for Sneak gliding, which, if turned on, prevents anyone from noticing your character if you started gliding while in sneak mode.
    It is magic after all.

    • Movement details. Various settings
    • Your 'defaults' (in case you changed some of game settings which Glide is relying on)
    • Gravity
    • Jump & Sprint-Jump height
    • Delays

    AS IS

Glide comes "As is". Everyone is free to report bugs, but don't expect me to fix anything.

    Translations

There are translation files present, in case it ever needed. They just aren't translated. Everyone is free to do it and upload anywhere.
UPD: Glide is now translated to Russian!
