1. Sometimes when I load a game or already in a game, the zoom in/out will just stop randomly working. The speed increase/decrease works still its just the zoom wheel. A reset of the game fixes this issue temporarily.
2. Sometimes when I zoom from 1st person to 3rd person or vice versa, I get stuck only being able to zoom out 1 step. I'm in first person, scroll out and I get only the one zoom. I am able to go back to first person but only have the two options available. A reset of the game fixes this issue temporarily.
I think it might be related to the control map or hard coded behaviour for mouse wheel inputs. Are you able to reproduce these issues when binding the hot keys to other inputs?
Switching the key binds from mouse to arrows seems to have fixed the "getting stuck" problem. The mouse wheel is now independently used for zoom scrolling and I haven't seen an issue (it is quite annoying adjusting speed thru up and down arrows tho) I was able to discern another problem. When adjusting speed from 0 (being the lowest speed) to 100 (being the highest) or vice versa , every time I would increase or decrease by an increment, the speed would always temporarily shoot to 100 then back to the designated speed. I was able to use STB Widgets to find this out. For example " 10 -> 100 -> 20, 20 -> 100 -> 30, 30 -> 100 -> 40, etc. and vise versa. It causes a "glitchy" movement pattern as my character temporarily "sprints" between interval changes. This happens no matter what key binds are set. Attached are the photos showing the "working" key bind and the one I use. I will be keeping it on my preset and just being careful not to walk into building as often or be at a distance that doesn't bug me. It seems that when I load into a new area is when I notice the break the most.
Thanks for the info. The glitchy speed isn't a glitch or bug per se. What you're observing is when I remove the magic effect controlling player speed and reapply it with the new value. I'll have a think about how I can improve the transition.
Also, good to know your other issue was specific to the mouse wheel. I'll do some more tests and see if I can fix it.
Is there any way to prevent scroll speed from changing while a quick loot menu is active? I really wanna use the Inverse Hold mode with mouse wheel for controls but I keep unintentionally changing my scroll speed while looting :D I could always not use the wheel for quick loot but I'd like to be able to. Also mount support would be stellar!
No problem. I am enjoying the mod quite a lot. Bound the modifier key to "E" in Hold mode which solves a lot of headaches and I can just hold the modifier key while looting if I wanna use Inverse Hold mode.
If you're taking feedback: Can you make it so the steps get reset if you sprint or walk? It doesn't feel good to first increase the steps before I walk or after I stop sprinting. I think it would make the mod way more polished if you can sprint or toggle walk to reset everything.
Another reason I care about resetting speed modifiers when walking is: making step 1 as slow as walking doesn't really put you in walk mode. It still counts as running for sneak detection and any mod that adds stamina costs to running. If it reset when walking I could just toggle walk if I need slow movement and still be able to fine tune my running speed for different situations.
I usually play in first person and no mater how I set the modifier setting, whenever I scroll it still zooms me out of first and into third person. It will only do this on the first mouse wheel scroll when the modifier is toggled to suppress the zooming
I think there is another ini setting to prevent that from happening since by default the pov is hardcoded to change. If not I can easily just switch it back instantly/provide an mcm setting to do so. Unfortunately I can't comment on when I will have time as I am extremely busy atm.
I'm having the same problem. Can you tell me what settings in Customizable Camera correct this? I downloaded Customizable Camera and adjusted every setting, but couldn't figure it out.
I've been using "SSE Engine Fixes" and "Modifier Function: No Mouse Zoom" from this mod's MCM. Works like a charm in first and third person. I only zoom in and out with the mouse wheel when I'm not controlling the scroll speed and the POV doesn't switch at all with the wheel.
Worked like a charm on my heavy modded 659 GOG version. I used E as modifier so the mouse wheel can be used normally to change zoom. Using E doesn't interfere with activation key at all.
Dont know why, the mod functions normally at first, but after a couple hours gameplay, it goes wrong. You cant zoom the camera and MCM settings dont take effect.
Best version of scrolling speed by far. If it's not too much to ask, can you add support for Quick Loot RE so that speed isn't changed when scrolling through the loot screen, if that's possible? Also, and I'm not sure if this is just on my end, but all variants of Scrolling Speed including this one has this minor bug where the modifier key functionality doesn't work sometimes unless I restart my game, and I suspect it has either to do with SmoothCam or True Directional Movement. With SmoothCam, if I go to the third person increment right before it goes to first person, scrolling forward switches it to first person even with the zoom functionality turned off (only on that increment though). I can adjust my camera distance by holding down the POV button (F) and moving my mouse up or down. True Directional Movement might also be related, since its target switch functionality also depends on the scroll wheel, but that can be toggled off, so I am also uncertain. In any case, endorsed.
I don't know if it's possible, but if the Quick Loot annoyance of changing movement speed while scrolling through the item menu could be fixed, it would be truly amazing!

Absolutely fantastic mod! Kudos. Endorsed.

Set "ScrollingDoesn'tSwitchPOV" = true in the toml
THANK YOU.
