For those who got problem where Fred not falling down to start the quest, here how I solve this. 1. open console, type "help ParaIntro" --> it will show quest id. 2. type setstage [id] 10 --> start the quest 3. Fred mission marker will appear on the mad --> go there and loot body to progress questline. (sometime Fred will appear inside a mountain, use "tcl" command to clip though bound to get to him)
The current beta of Faster HDT-SMP breaks Fred for me. The paraglider falls down, but Fred doesn't. If I start the quest manually, the quest marker points somewhere far off. If I use the console to move Fred to me, his body immediately moves away very fast. If I use the console to move myself to Fred, I end up mid air somewhere, or sometimes on the ground on some mountain pass, but again Fred's body is nowhere to be seen.
This appears to be a bug in Faster HDT-SMP. Temporarily moving away its DLL for the playthrough lets me acquire the paraglider just fine.
I had this very issue, fred kept teleporting away from me. So i tcl'ed to him, which kept him from moving. But upon getting there i was unable to loot him. I fixed this by disabling him, then re-enabling him. This allowed me to loot and and the quest worked fine from there after i read the journal. (had to do all your steps first though)
Thanks a lot. I wanted to use paraglider but didn't want to use Nemesis. I just loaded this mod after the original paraglider and did not do anything else complicated and it worked perfectly in 1.6.1170,Pandora.
Thanks! The original mod page is full of unhelpful comments, turns out I don't need to implement any hare-brained madness to get this to work or disable my animation mods like Jump Behaviour Overhaul. Just needed and updated file for the right version of the game.
I've been suffering with a bug for like 2 weeks where the paraglider would randomly close on me. So today I decided to get to the bottom of it and turns out "Helmet Toggle 2" was the culprit, did not expect it but whenever I had this mod installed and had a helmet equipped the bug would happen.
So if you're experiencing something like this and you have Helmet Toggle 2 installed, try disabling it and see if it goes away. I'm glad it was just a dumb little mod like this one and not something big like requiem. So I just removed it from my playthrough with no worry, though I still have another bug that I will be writing a bug report on here after I'm done writing this.

it seems that when i switch between gliders there is maybe a small bug or error?
the glider physically doesn't change from broom to glider and so on but it seems to move my character in the correct orientation while still maintaining the stock glider equipped during flight. what do i do to fix it? did i install something incorrectly?

Hey there folks, this seems to work fine in 1.6.1170, regular steam version, just tried it out and glided my way out the peak in the little quest this mod gives. If anyone's got trouble, it's probably an outdated dependency or some other mod messing with the vanilla game jumping action, which this mod seems to rely on to start working. Giving yourself the glider to skip the quest will also stop you from gliding it seems (ask me how i know), but the modder was kind enough to give out a messagebox telling you this.
Glider relying on jump state makes me wonder if simply falling off a ledge means the glider won't work, but if skyrim follows oblivion, a jump action starts as soon as havok knows you're falling, takes like half a second, so it'll be fine.
For folks with 1.6.1179, the GOG version, somehow that's a whole nother can of worms, but someone found a fix, it's on the thread "ModEnjoyer52" started, saying: "Has anybody got this working on 1.6.1179? Edit: Someone found the fix in the below comments !!"
