    In the files section, the version 3.0.1 is also marked as "New game or clean save required". Does it require a new game too?

    My graphics card broke and I can't capture my gaming PC anymore. I am trying atm to bridge over this with installing a small mod list on my streaming PC via GOG. I don't wanna fiddle with Steam, because on my gaming set up I am still on SE .97. 

    I am a bit at a loss and would really appreciate some help. 
    GOG I am on 1.6.659 because things broke after updating, so I reverted back and accepted it.

    I have all installed:

    • Footprints 1.6.1
    • Footprints - Alternative Design
    • SPID for Footprints
    • Footprints - Player Footprints Fix 

    ESP Load order is the same. SPID and KID and their requirements are installed. I start a new game.

    Everybody has footsteps, but the player character.

    I googled and can't find anything helpful because it only shows ofc hits to the missing footsteps after transformation.

    I am asking here because I have the impression I get probably helped best here, as you seem to be very knowledgeable.
    And even if it's a GOG issue, ok, then that's it. But maybe, hopefully, it's a simple, "idiotic" user error, because that's what it normally is. x'D

      First, make sure you are on terrain where you can leave footprints.
      Second, start game only with one, footprints related mod, Footprints 1.6.1, check if you have footprints, then add next one and test again. This is the easiest way to figure out which mod is making problems/needs to be configured.

      I tested this already and it's already starting with Footprints 1.6.1 alone. It's deftl. on working meshes, because I literally tapdanced next to people and goats who left footprints. x'D

      My next thing would be to make a troubleshoot profile and only have the necessary mods enabled. I just thought I reach out to someone who might know what this could be. I am playing btw. with standard races, I was a nord. I tested shoes and barefoot. Everybody leaves delicious footprints but not me. I am using this mod since it came out and I never had any issues before, other than the ENB issue, that has a fix. So my biggest worry is, that it is GOG AE related and that would be a big sad, ngl.

      I had such problems with only Footprints 1.6.1, and just adding SPID for Footprints fix (this mod), without other mods made it work for me. You can try if these two will also give you the same results as I got.

      Sorry for the late reply, I had a bit of stress. So I was troubleshooting it and was able to pinpoint the issue. It's the walking animation added through OAR/DAR. That's why it was only me. Any idea what has to be different on a walking animation that breaks footprints being applied, default footprints and via SPID. Maybe any idea if it can be fixed? Or maybe someone I could ask. Without the animation all works. I tried to add the animation as well directly and as PCEA, to ensure it's really the animation itself and not anything else involved. And it's deftl. tied to that walk/sprint forward animation replacer. I am a bit sad, because I love that animation, it's a motion capture one and super realistic. 

      Edit: 

      COMPATIBILITY

      - Certain animation replacers can break the animation events being sent, and if you use these your player will not receive footprints.  There is nothing on my end that I can do.  This mod works on the vanilla animations and skeletons, so the fix has to be on their end.
      - I have confirmed that FNIS/XPMSSE by themselves are compatible with Footprints, but the animations you are using may not be (see above point).


      Ohhh, I just read that on footprints page(I am googling and searching atm a bit). I went to my SE set up and realized there are missing there, too. I just never picked up on it, because I often only run/sprint while having weapon drawn and then I use a different walk/run/sprint. And when I slowly walk, my feet arent always in the picture. Sorry to have bothered you.

    Version 4.0.0 has been considered experimental for over a year at this point. Do you think it's safe to assume it can be considered stable at this point?

    Thank you for the mod, I have been using it for quite long already.
    I don't know if I'm asking in the right place, but was wondering if it's possible somehow to add footprints to a certain armor / clothing mod through SPID. I'd love to add barefoot footprints to a mod that has footwraps - these definitely should generate barefoot footprints instead of booted ones.
