Yes, Alternate Design is successor of sand patch, so there are no problems at all.
Yes, it should be more optimal/faster, because I removed unnecessary elements from Footprints that are obsolete for SPID version. I marked it experimental, because I had not enough time to test it fully. Btw, I will update it more, just need to find free time.
There is no competition, my patches were created when no one cared about fixing these bugs and there were no mods fixing them. What other people did, year after my mods, has nothing to do with me.
If you search for satyress you will find my Replacers for Nether's Satyresses mod, where you will see that I advise using your version 4. You might be interested to examine my footprints add on there. I found it an advantage to SPID the spell by race, rather than keyword.
Interesting problem, only my character has footprints. I've seen many people have the opposite problem but not this. I'm using 4.0.0. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks
Can confirm as well. V4 doesn't work for any horses either. This is after doing a clean install, removing v.3.0.1., using Resaver, and after it's all done, installing V4.

Or at this point I should just use 4.0?
Can I use yours with ‘Footprints - Alternate Design’… and is there any reason not to use the experimental version file?

As far as I've been able to find out, the only thing the other fix does better than this one is footsteps for kids.
