Thank you so much for all the kind words! I might not be responding, but I am definitely reading them (and sending them to my friends and the people who helped make this happen) <3
If you need help with a puzzle or want to see how to get certain character endings, here is the walkthrough!
This mod is definitely for the puzzle lovers among us. If you love puzzles, you will like this mod.
I am not a fan of difficult puzzles, and I will try to solve most things without a walk through. Solving this one without the walk through seems unlikely.
I approve of the effort that went into making this mod, and even though it was not to my taste, I respect the technical skill involved.
The location, visuals and the story is really good and the climbing mechanic was really cool too, but for someone who doesn't play puzzle games very much, I must say without your guide I would fail spectacularly because some of the puzzles are really hard and especially the timed ones took me multiple tries. Unfortunately Skyrim swimming and jumping mechanics are not among the best, so combining them with timed events was kind of frustrating - was thinking about giving up multiple times. Maybe having an option to somehow choose difficulty or at least making the timed puzzles little bit longer would be nice? I hope I don't sound too negative, I am sure that for people who love puzzles it's probably perfect - I tried it as part of Nordic Souls modlist, so kind of didn't know 100% what to expect and in the end storywise it was really good.
You can't survive the first dive without waterbreathing potions / argonian / spells so don't start this mod without having them. I was level 1 and was not equipped so had to reload a save to before I started.
Unless you have other mods that affect movement speed and/or waterbreathing timers, you can take no damage with the shortest vanilla race heights (female Bretons and Khajiit) for the first room's long dive.
There is a longer dive later on that will cause damage, and has killed some players that I've watched play, but can be optimized to about 60% of health. It's also possible to find 1-2 waterbreathing potions by that point.
Finally got around to doing my first playthrough of this mod... and yeah, totally worth the hype. Absolutely going to be a staple going forward, especially so I can do different routes & find more of the stuff I know for a fact I missed. Well done to everyone involved!
the name is EVGSirenrootQuest, and the final stage is 200. You might be able to use stage 140 instead to play out the ending correctly (it forces a teleport!) but I'm not sure.
Great quest, and mysterious! Thank you, had a good time also, just noticed, when around the lake, at Riften docks, you can hear the siren song faintly :o :)
Hey so, Its likely my fault in some way, but just wanted to warn people that around halfway through the questline I started getting crashes when loading, and even sometimes saving (particularly qs) or loading a new cell. infrequent at first, but then more and more, becoming almost entirely consistent now. And this issue followed me out of the dungeon, my loads crash around 80% of the time id say. Thankfully I did the entire quest in one go, and dont think much other important stuff during or after, so I can revert to a save before starting it. So I enjoyed the mod a lot, Xelzaz seriously enhanced it, but its all for naught it seems, if I cant figure out the issue. Crashlogs mostly mention HDT, so that doesnt really help, and the game was perfectly stable before this.
