Disappointed that the Staff of Magelight ended up being pretty worthless? Same.

This mod adds a new Staff of Magelight. Instead of being an actual staff, it functions as a carriable light source (aka "torch"). Kind of one of those "duh" mods that should have been in the base game. Now you can bash people with your Gandalf staff and bring light to the deep places of the world.



HOW TO OBTAIN

Arch-Mage Savos Aren will give you this staff at the end of quest MG02 "Under Saarthal". It is also craftable at a Staff Enchanter with the same components as a regular staff.

COMPATIBILITY

Will not be affected by Alteration staff replacers.

Incompatible with mods changing quest MG02 "Under Saarthal". Popular College of Winterhold overhauls should be okay - I tested with OCOW.

Using with iEquip: iEquip makes sweeping changes to the carriable light source type such that this mod will be subject to iEquip's parameters. If you want an infinite Staff of Magelight, change iEquip's MCM.

Using with Immersive Equipment Displays: IED has the ability to display favorited carriable light sources on your character's body. I have included a preset that allows switching between on and off versions of the staff when equipping and unequipping. To use, first disable torches equipment display on your actor. Next, hit View -> Custom -> Preset -> Staff of Magelight -> Apply. The off staff will only display if Staff of Magelight is favorited.
