    I think i covered the most common mods/mod Types that needs special controller setup

    If you see java-event-stripped somewhere in the description or comments, its because nexusmods changes words and sentences to it, seem to happen with words like "config" and .ini lines, i tried to workaround this by alter those words

    Seperate Bow from Right Hand Key somehow, currently no idea how to achieve this. DKAF and Key Utils may be good starting points.

    Find another Activation Key than Y/Triangle without producing visual bugs, L1 is the obvious one but it creates a bug in which L2 is always shown as activation key

    More Compatibility with Wheeler and SkyUI Groups System.

    More Pre Configurated, configuration files for some Mods that don't have an MCM for Keybinds

    More SBE - True Prone System Compatibility

    Book of Creed Compatibility - The Assassins Creed, Hidden Blade, Stealth Mod, waiting for public release before uploading any keybinds

    General inclusion of new gameplay mechanic adding mods that needs special setup for this controller mapping

    Less need of Steam Controller by including Gamepad++ mechanics (got permission last year, told me the mod has open permissions anyway)

    Use a version made for souls quick menu, didn't extensively Playtested Soulsy HUD, but it should work with souls and Elden Equip versions

    About Elden Equip 1 version

    Only for Playstation Controller
    Only used it with Playstation 5 Controller, might work for PS4 controllers as well
    Only Works with THIS steam controller c.onfig steam://controllerconfig/489830/2916936113
    Alternatively you can just look for Modern Third Person Controller Controls - Elden Equip, in the Skyrim Steam Controller Community Template Tab
    You have 7 Free Keys to use for other Mods (i did not count Elden Equip)
    You need to assign the keys in MCM with your Keyboard while controller is unplugged or disabled in the settings
    Keys used are the following
    G/H = Trackpad Left/Right
    X = L1+R1
    C = L1+R2
    L1+Left = J
    L1+Right = L
    L1+Up = I
    L1+Down = K
    Not compatible with Auto Input Switch or any other mod that let you use your keyboard/mouse and controller at the same time (of course mcm keyboard keys will still work while using a controller)

    About Simple Keytrace

    Keytrace versions are OBSOLETE now use dTRYs solution instead in Combination with one of the other versions

    Notes to Racemenu, Photomode, and similar Mod added Menus SUPER IMPORTANT !!!

    You need to unplug or disable controller in the ingame settings, while or before entering those menus. re enable if you are done with whatever you was doing there.

    Notes to MCO Weaponarts and One Click Power Attack IMPORTANT

    OCPA has an MCM now, you'll have to edit it, set Power Attack to Y/Triangle, set Modifier to L1, set Modifier to only during first attack
    MCO Weaponarts are bound to Dual Power Attack, which won"t trigger if you have a spell in offhand. You can set Dual Power Attack in OCPAs MCM to R2, doesn't work on some Loadorders, in this case, set it to X/Square with Y/Triangle as Modifier.

    For Wheeler User

    Elden Equip 1 Version (with the steam config) works fine if you use the right trackpad for toggle. Just set Primary and Secondary Key as R2/L2. Use the Keyboard for configuration keys.
    If you don't use Elden Equip 1 Version, or don't have a PS5 controller, you will need to create your own Steam Controller config, it's very simple to set up, trust me, should even work with GOG skyrim.

    Or just wait for me to update some versions

    For SkyClimb User - SUPER IMPORTANT !!!

    Don't set the Jump Button for Climbing or Disable Ledge over stuff if you want to keep it as jump button, reason is you will exit any crafting Menu (Enchant, Alchemy etc.) if there is a Climb Marker and you press A

    For Magic Jump user

    Install the Just Jump Patch file
    install simple air dash
    Install my Preconfig
    ...
    Profit.

    For Archers IMPORTANT

    Stealth Archer no more
    Use Smooths Rapid Bow v3 otherwise archery will be a Horror with my Controller Setup, Rapid Shot is R2 by Default, set L2 as Hotkey 1 in Rapid Bows MCM. 

    You Guys will have a Hard Time against Lord Harkon if you dont read the spoiler up ahead

    Attention!
    I encountered a bug!

    If you use a version that acces Favorites with L1+Select
    And switch your weapons or magic within the Favorite Menu
    And Accidentally DMCO dodge at the same Time as you acces your favs and change your Weapon/Spell in the Heat of Battle. 
    Within this very Favorites Menu 
    You wont be able to Attack anymore. (switch weapons again wont help, you are locked) 
    I recommend users who use DMCO with one of the other Dodge Mods together to NOT use an L1+Select Fav Version.
    And those who only use DMCO, to bind it to B instead of the Sprint Click.
    Note that DMCO still isnt finished yet it can be different in the Future once out of beta.

    Another thing

    You will still loot things when you fight "the air", can be annoying while testing out new Combat animations, (can be prevent if you uncheck weapon drawn in btps but doing this is not recommended because of reasons)
    also when you fight "the air" heavy attacks will play those "Activate button sound when nothing got activated" I linked a Mod in the requirements that get rid of them

    If you're playing in AE and are struggling to use power attacks, I found Elden Power Attack a good alternative.

    Things to keep in mind are;

    • You can also combo continuously by holding the light attack button
    • Power attacks can only be triggered by holding a modifier key (configurable in the .ini) while attacking.
                eg if your modifier key is LB; 1st power attack= (LB)+Attack, 2nd power attack= Attack+(LB)+Attack, and so on.

    • So far it works well with moveset mods that require a combination of light and power attacks, however I can't guarantee it with some that require multiple key combinations.

    If you're okay with these just download the mod and its requirement, configure its .ini file and you're good to go.

    Does anyone know why this mod causes my game to crash on startup, when none of it's requirements do? Does it have anything to do with having the most recent Skyrim update? Or is this an incompatibility with another mod I don't know about?

      Was trying to figure out what was causing my game to crash and to my surprise it was this mod. I guess it needs an update.

    Sorry to sounds like a parrot with the rest of the comment, but sadly the mod doesn't work. I would like to say that is cause a CTD, but it doesn't do that, the game simply can't launch now.

    I tried using it with my normal modlist, didn't work. I tried using only the requirements (and the requirements of the requirements) with no success.

    If you are finding that R2/RT isn't doing a left handed attack when dual weilding despite proper setup, I solved it by moving ValhallaCombat.esp ahead of Attack_MCO.esp in my load order.

    Figured it's worth mentioning this given how long it took me to figure it out!

    Hi and thank you for a great mod.  I have a few questions.

    1. What's a good set up / key for Sky Climb? Would L1 or L2 work (since L1 seems to be a modifier general key now)?
    2. I'm using MCO's Dodge mod though not married to it. I dodge when exiting all dialogue and menus (B key). Is there a way around this?

      1. I have no idea tbh, i use "quickly double press A" for that tbh but it feels kinda weird, iam still experimenting with a control scheme that has L1 as activation key.
      2. Usually happens in combination with skyrim souls unpaused menus, doesn't have this problem with TK and TUDM, though i think a patch might exist.

    I unfortunately cannot get this to work. I use MO2. Am I supposed to manually install it somewhere or install it via that? I did everything else the settings asked for, but there's no change in game

      Just install with Mo2 and let it overwrite anything that conflicts, you have to set controls ingame to default after install to make it work.

    Have you looked into compatibility with
    Rapid bow combo v3 for archers?:

    with v3 the new melee function works fine when setting a hot key but i think your controller mapping conflicts with the "bow bash" which is needed for the rapid fire, jump shot combos from the v3.

      You can set the Melee Key to L2, doesn't work for now with X/Square without disabling the Vanilla Bow Behavoir, Rapid Fire is R2 by Default, never did a Jump Shot honestly, if i get Time i will Test it. Aiming with Vanilla Bow behavoir is definetly Clunky as it's bound to X/Square. I did a Workaround for that via Steam Controller, it's not a really good solution though i made L1+R1 to Act like X/Square.

      i literally haven't downloaded these mappings yet (haven't started my controller playthrough yet) so i have no idea if this is even worth trying but as someone who chronically plays archery focused characters (even when i try not to lmao) do you think switching the functions of the left and right joysticks (i.e. aim is now left joystick and walk is now right joystick) would feel less clunky? obviously you'd have to get used to using right joystick to walk, but could be an okay middle ground for archery if it works this way

      So i ended up going for it with the rapid bow combo v3 set up and found that i mainly used the standard X for sniping (True directional moderm combat lock on does a lot of heavy lifting here as it allows you to strafe without crab clawing the controller) and the rapid bow combo functions for more close quarters and was pleasantly surprised how smooth it works. so i'd definitely recommend it.

    Hey! Looking at the amount of times you mentioned having to make trade-offs in the configs, I figured I'd leave links to two somewhat new SKSE mods that unbind gamepad buttons - they might be helpful :)
