Greetings. Unfortunately I don't use VR - so guessing it is for my part. Besides what L44keri stated... ...at least you need SKSEVR (+Address Library) suitable for your actual Skyrim Version - I am not even sure if it does exist for the latest AE Versions.
Question: can this mod be used to assign mod-added armors as a (currently not following) follower's outfit? I see you used CC Leather Scout Armor in the example screenshots, but I haven't been successfull in assigning CLOTHING from a mod, the follower would just stick with the "sleepwear" robes spawned by Follower Outfit - Exchange in Sandbox Mode.
My prospect - you should be able to assign every 'unchanged' instance of a base form, classified as armor with a value >0. If your clothing meets all criteria - it should be equipped on top of the default robe (which deliberately is unplayable and has a value of 0;-)
I thought as much. It seems the clothing I was trying to assign must have some issues, even after giving it armor keywords and stats, followers would not equip it, not even the vanilla way (their default outfit was farm clothes). No fault of your mod whatsoever :)
Hopefully the last unicorn;-) Since spouses are not necessarily followers - I've expanded the dialogue filter to handle e.g Sylgja, Ysolda etc. as well.
So, I chose "Let's review your outfit," they switched to the robes, then I went to "let's trade gear" and they put on the armor I gave them. That's all good, but if they stop following me, they are completely naked (except for their weapons) when I see them again.
Am I doing something wrong? I don't have any other mods that effects followers beyond dialogue stuff.
Here is the thing - you choose "Let's review your outfit," which is nice of you, but even nicer would have been - to actually hand over some stuff before leaving this dialogue;-)
Hmm, and you have no mods with follower effect - but a dialogue option "let's trade gear" on your teammate - really?
Yeah, the problem was that I *would* give them something, but the armor would flash over them, disappear from their model and return to my inventory. It would only stick if I left the dialogue and then switched to "I need to trade some things with you." I've realized that it was because I was giving them tempered gear. I wasn't seeing the notification that it had to be unmodified in the top left because it was popping up on top of the inventory tab. When I saw "You can assign vanilla apparel only" in the mod description, in my mind I thought it meant only vanilla (base game) stuff, my bad. I've since had no issues using the mod.
It's just the basic vanilla option "I need to trade some things with you" or whatever. I paraphrased it because I couldn't remember verbatim what the dialogue was.
First of all - this mod is meant to grant certain access when follower is in sandbox mode - not to replace the vanilla trade inventory - while teammate. Second - this mod is changing a core setting on NPCs - by using core functionality (as good as it gets). Third - you can touch NPCs in PotentialFollowerFaction only - mostly vanilla followers I guess.
I switch to EFF from IAFT follower mod and the only thing i miss is IAFT had options to wear cloths at home, city and default armor. The NPCs would automatically change when they entered the cell. I think it is a tag or keyword that makes it possible? A mod that would give those options would make people dizzy.
What dialogue? MCM menu or...? When I talk to Lydia for instance, it does not automatically remove her gear? And there is also no option to do so. And still her stuff default gear is hidden in her inventory. Why don't any of these mods work? So confused..
Hmm... When you trigger Lydia - do you have the dialogue option <Let's review your outfit...> usually at the bottom/end of the dialogue box (see 2nd pic)?
...and NO - I don't know - why any of these mods don't work - whatever THESE mods are!
Intentionally limited to apparel. Since 'default apparel' (clothes, armor, jewellery etc.) is defined in a so called outfit and hidden from 'trade inventory' you need an extra dialogue for that. I used to manage follower weapons via trade inventory while being teammate. Even the exasperating 'follower hunter bow' is accessible via trade inventory - at least in my game version - might be different in older ones... ...hmm, very old ones.
