Noob here. Okay so to make it totally transparent... Both patches are for moving the location to the same spot across the river, right? Just one REQUIRES to have Blackthorn and the other one doesn't? I read the description 3 times and it still seems I don't understand. I DO have Blackthorn and I am installing Kaiden for the first time so I saw this patch was available and it seems like a good idea to grab with Kaiden. I'm wondering cause the file size is different as well so it makes me think one has more than the other for some reason. Does having the dependency really matter that much? Is that just for LOOT to sort properly?
The other one is for folks who use Kaidan and not Blackthorn, and would still like to have the wedding place moved over there. It's included because my tester liked the new spot well enough that they thought others might appreciate the option :)
The difference in file size has to do with making sure that landscape refs match blackthorns'
I installed this mid playthrough and after Blackthorn was built (with much tcl assist to get to buildings) and it works like a dream! I'd already tried selecting no small wedding option, so I've not tried that, but I could have cried when I went to blackthorn and it was all there! and everyone could go to building!
First, thank you very much for your mods. I have not tried them yet, I am trying to build a modded game for the first time ever, and if I am successful I will be able to enjoy Interesting NPC (3DNPC) thanks to your patches. :-) I have played Skyrim a long time ago and there was no Kaidan back then. I have read in several articles that my character will be able to marry Kaidan. I suppose, even if I am a male, right ? (there were so few gay characters in Skyrim, if any, it was frightening, but in my memory marriage was open to all, and in the Elder Scrolls Wiki nothing is said about same-sex marriage) If so, my question is : the description of your patch states that it "Takes Kaidan's wedding ceremony and moves it across the river". Does it mean that if I use your patch he will marry someone else, or that the Kaidan's wedding you are talking about may also be mine ? Again, thank you very much for your time.
I haven't actually played through the whole quest myself, so I can't answer regarding what genders work, etc, but what this does is move the location of a wedding ceremony to a different spot so they don't conflict. It doesn't change the ceremony otherwise.
Thank you very much for the time you took to answer me. Coding and modding can be more interesting and fun than playing. And usually more generous as well. I went to read about Kaidan's story before playing it, and I finally got the answer I wanted : "if you’re looking for a romance that feels natural in progression, Kaidan is the man for you. And if you play a male, fear not! Kaidan will love you just as much." [from https://skyrimromance.com/way-of-the-bae-introducing-kaidan-the-wandering-swordsman/] Hence I understand you made a patch that will allow me to build a town in Blackthorn and marry Kaidan. Thank you very much indeed. :-)
For whatever reason, this doesn't seem to work for me anymore.
I previously had a playthrough (Downgraded SE) with this, and it worked perfectly. Over the last couple of days, I have had to completely redo all my modding from scratch (now using AE), and this doesn't seem to work anymore.
[EDIT] - I have found the issue, I was using your original Janquel's Arguably Needed Quixotically Unifying ESP Library, and had the Kaidan 2 Alternate Wedding Location Patch.esp checked off in the FoMod installer. After re-installing the Patch, and ignoring the Alternate Wedding Location, it worked again.
I added Blackthorn and this patch mid-game. The Mara shrine didn't appear on the alter and the cutscene for the wedding didn't trigger when we got close with the priestess. Just a FYI for others as this may be one of the static objects issue mentioned under the description? :)
Good idea to upload this separately from your Janquel's Arguably Needed Quixotically Unifying ESP Library. I'm sure you were getting tired of responding to people on the Blackthorn posts page lol. Thanks as always for your awesome patches!
This kinda came out of a completely unrelated discussion in a discord channel where someone else had a patch that others didn't know existed, and so I figured I should try to avoid the same. It's kinda against my typical consolidation mindset, but I think in this case it makes the most sense. A few of the others will get forked off, too, but some of them weren't made by me (so I want to double check with the folks who did), or would be better suited for a combined page we're going to be making ANYWAY.

I figured as much but I was trying to see if I could get the smaller file
I have blackthorn since forever and I di not know that would conflict with Kaidan, I was lucky to find this!

Just a slight glitch - the Alchemy Lab (& Myriah when she uses it) is floating about a 1/4 leg length above the ground - regardless of load order.
Thanks and endorsed.
I didn't just totally get distracted with other stuff I've been working on for a few weeks when I said "today/tonight" I swear >_>
