Do you have a file that ONLY fixes the left hand spell casting? If not, what would I need to change to get that working for me?

Is this working and needed with SkySA 2.8?

It should work fine with any version of SkySA. Just use this .esp instead of the one that comes with SkySA.
It even works with Vanilla, though it isn't as useful without SkySA.

This mod works regardless of whether you are using SkySA, but the features are intended to be most helpful for SkySA users. There are no behavior files, so it won't interfere with NEMESIS whatsoever. Just set up NEMESIS how you would normally :)

Hi, if i want to change the dual wield block animation, which value should i look for in xEdit?

What exactly do you want to change about it?
If you want to change the conditions that it can be used, then xEdit is the right tool.

If you want to change the visual animation, then you will need to use a blocking animation replacer mod (Skypia has an excellent mod for that)

The conditions, from what i have seen you used the dual wield idle for blocking animation which i've replaced with skypia's combat-noncombat idles mod. But when i block while dual wielding, it uses the vanilla animation and maybe swapping it with shield block animation would make it a little bit better because when you move while blocking, dual wield idle animation's hand positions look weird like this.

      Okay, I understand your problem.

I will tell you up front that my mod has no control over that, so modifying stuff in xEdit will not fix it. The only thing you can change in xEdit is the button press and other conditions for when blocking *starts* and when it *ends*. This triggers the animation event, and behavior files (which are not touched in my mod) process the animation event to choose the appropriate animation file.

You will want to look into your behavior files and possibly even your skeleton. Make sure you are using Nemesis/FNIS to properly combine everything. I encountered a problem identical to yours when using TUDM with XP32 without a patch (except it messed up all blocking-while-moving movements, making them play the walking animation file instead). I'm not an expert on behavior files, but that is definitely the source of your problem.

(Keep in mind SkySA and even USSEP have behavior files.)

Would it work for ADXP (SkySA successor)?

    Edit:
Seems so from what I can see.

Is it possible for you to revert the blocking with left mouse to an attack similiar to SkySA Friendly extra Attacks or Additional Attack?
Making blocking and dual wield blocking a hotkey on the keyboard with mods is already done, so my thinking is to make attacking with both hands more viable. Especially with Grip Switch you can use 2-handed weapons in one hand each, that makes it more fun to attack with alternating unregular left-right attacks. It is better for timing enchantments or reach of different weapons to specific circumstances than to make the player have less choice how to fight.
That was one of the best things in Skyrim combat for me. If someone knows a different method or mods that already do this, please give some recommendations or resources to learn about that particular topic. Thanks for your attention.

If you don't want blocking, you can use my optional file that only contains the sheathe-to-power-attack feature. Also, the original SkySA esp only includes blocking, so you should not use that either.

I can easily make a mod that adds the 3-hit-greatsword attack like in Dynamic Combat (and in Additional Attack).

I am currently testing how to add directional power attacks again, but it doesn't look especially promising at the moment

I agree that having control over which hand you attack with is ideal. I am working on a separate blocking mod (designed for non-skysa users) that allows this. However, this mod is simply meant as an improvement for SkySA - SkySA's itself prevents you from making left attacks mid-combo. If you want to start with a left attack, don't use the files I mentioned at the beginning of this response

The mod is (somewhat) key-bindable. The buttons are just listed as an example. The mod uses the actual actions, not the buttons. That means changing the button for sheathing in-game will also change the button for the mid-attack power attack (which is activated by sheathing). Likewise, changing the button for your left attack will change the button for the blocking.

If you currently cannot cast with the lefthand while unarmed in the right, it is either the SkySA esp (all it does is add a primitive dualwield blocking), Dynamic Combat, or your own blocking mod.  It is a common oversight in blocking mods where the mod tries to block instead of casting, preventing both.

Blocking mods will overlap. Since one of your blocking mods is actively messing up your unarmed+spell casting, you should delete its esp file and use something else (like this) for blocking.

Order shouldn't matter. However, my testing was done with this loaded below SkySA.

yeah, cause i just tried rn and couldnt get it to work with it loaded before skysa loads. would it perhaps need a new game if i had a grip switch for skysa installed?

What version of SkySA is this for? Would this work with 2.0+ versions that are not on Nexus?

It is intended for SkySA, but does not actually require it. It could even work for vanilla skyrim, but the sheath-for-power-attack feature wouldn't be especially useful unless you are using a mod like SkySa that makes power attacks difficult to execute.

There shouldn't be any issues, but I'll release a super-compatible version with only the Sheath-power-attack feature shortly
