May I ask what issue does the hood have?

The original Serana hood wasn't flagged as playable, had the mage hood world model (like when it's on the ground) and wasn't visible when equipped (iirc).

This mod fixes that by replacing Serana's hood with the guild master hood.

Not sure if this is a bug or mod conflict I have, but the guild master no circlet slot file makes the vampire hood brown (Default Thieves Guild Hood) instead of being black (Guild Master Hood). Is it suppose to be like this?

Hmm, sounds like a mistake on my part. That should make all of the hoods be the guild master one, which is black. I'll see about getting a fix pushed up.

Yeah it looks like it had the wrong world model but it still should have looked like the guild master's hood once you were wearing it. Fixed the world model, at least.

I like it. Is it possible to make it an esl tho? I mean the file is definitely small enough.

I wasn't able to turn it into an ESL while keeping the cell edit to add it to the world. You could do it, but the only way to acquire the hood would be console.

Ah ok. Damn, times like these I wish I was good at modding. That would be fine tho honestly, the esp explorer mod makes it much easier to find things these days. Unless you're talking about those armors that you can't actually equip in-game. Still don't understand those lol.

Hey! Having an issue where it looks like a novice mage hood?

You have it installed right, I'm able to reproduce that on my end. I'll try and figure out what's causing it and get it fixed. Sorry about that!

      EDIT:

Should be fixed now. Thanks for the report!

I'm so sorry! I figured it out thanks to your help though! You can assign two models for the third person view when the item is worn. One of them is used by humanoids, and the other is used for beast races. Earlier, I swapped out both models instead of just the beast races, hence everyone showing a torturer's hood. I had only tested in the dark so I didn't realize the color had changed.

Anyway, it's as fixed as it can be now, but there is a problem. The vampire hood model used by Serana won't show up on the beast races, so I have to use the Guild Master's Hood model for them, which is closer to the correct color but still different. It should look better than the torturer's hood and mage hood did, but it unfortunately won't be a perfect match to Serana if you're standing side by side.

Let me know what you think. I could potentially replace Serana's hood with the guild master's hood too, that way everyone would match.

In version 1.4, humanoids will use the vampire hood and beasts will use the guild master's hood.

Is it possible to make this mod compatible with the Hoods and Circlets Together mod?

Check out the optional files. I didn't test it but it should be working.

Holy **** that was fast and it works! Instant endorsement. Well done man. Thanks a lot
Only minor nitpick is that the circlet isn't visible but I'm not going to complain since you got a patch out in half an hour

Thanks dude! I looked at it a little bit and I think the lack of visibility is due to it being armor. It might or might not work if you use SSEEdit to remove these keywords from the hood: AmorLight, ArmorHelmet, VendorItemArmor; and add these keywords: ArmorClothing, VendorItemCloathing, CloathingHead. At least that's what Circlets or Masks with all Robes and Hoods is doing with the torturer's hood. So if it works for torturer's hood on that mod, those changes should work with this :)

Hey nice idea is this hood dynamic so that the character takes it on and off automatically? And can you add an option for sunlight immunity as an enchantment for the hood (would be very immersive ^^ )

The hood is not dynamic. I’ll see what I can do about adding the options.

      EDIT:

I did some research on this. A couple of things to note. The script that handles outfit changes is called DLC1_NPCMentalModelScript.psc. It should be in Data/Sources/Scripts after you extract Bethesda-shipped Scripts.7z. There is a function in that script called OutfitChange. This is where you would want to look if you wanted to expand automatic outfit changes to include more than just Serana and her hood on her.

Another thing to notice here is that the script expands a (hidden from CreationKit) quest called Conditional. So if you wanted to make a separate script to handle this type of thing instead of editing the existing one, that would be the same implementation that Bethesda took.

About the sunlight-protection; the implementation of Aureil's bow is all over the place. At first I thought that copying the bow's implementation and attaching it to the hood would be an easy fix. It's not. It would require some papyrus scripting that is beyond my level of skill, or a different implementation all together. Another way I thought of solving this was to add conditions to the sunlight damage magical effects, to require that this mod's specific hood not be worn. For some reason, this did not work, not really sure why. Another way to go about solving this would be to just buff regens and Magicka/Health/Stamina while the player is a vampire, wears the hood, and is in the sunlight. This solution would not hide the sun damage from the Active Effects list in the magic inventory, so it isn't ideal.

Other mods have solved this problem before, like Vampire Sun Damage Clothes Covering, but I'm not going to draw traffic away from wonderful mods like these by piggy backing off of their work.

Long story short, I don't have plans to implement either feature, at least until I'm better at papyrus scripting. In the meantime, I hope this is enough information for you to either implement the changes yourself, or create a patch for personal use via the aforementioned mod. I appreciate your feedback and agree it would add value. I hope you can still find some use out of this.

Whenever I try to improve the hood, I get the notification "Subject lacks required perk". I can't figure out why. Is the tempering recipe not included in the mod or am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I can see the item in the workbench and that it needs leather. I can also see the tempering level it would change to and the the amount of improvement I would be making.

I definitely didn't add a tempering recipe, didn't know I had to haha. There's one in version 1.2 so if you update you should be able to improve it finally :) sorry about that!
