I've been debating - do you recommend the all in one version of zerofrost armors or the individual ones? I assume most of the fixes are only for the individual esps.
I have not used the AIO version. I have been using the individual uploads. As such, the fixes/tweaks I've uploaded are for the individual mod uploads.
To some extent this helps the modification workflow. And, because I turn most of my armor mods into espfe plugin, I don't worry about plugin counts for my load order.
An AIO version may develop - but after the issues/kinks are resolved. I am not a fan of re-downloading a large file just for a few small changes.
Understood, thanks. If you don't mind, I also noticed this mod. I originally used their uploads of the armors because of the fixes involved, but I wasn't sure if your ports feature different fixes or if you've used theirs as a base.
Looking at its description, it appears to be more-or-less a hub for the various armors with SPID distribution. I also noticed a lot of links which pointed to re-textures from LE, which are more than likely not included in the mod.
Regarding "fixes" the only element I noticed was "optimized for SSE" which could have been done using Nif Optimizer or Cathedral Assets Optimizer. There were a couple of tweaks mentioned e.g. sounds/values, but otherwise, no mentioning of actual fixes.
As I have not used the mod, my thoughts are based on the description and what the mod contents preview shows (plugin, meshes, textures). I also cannot account for how their mod would interact with the fixes I have provided.
Regarding which mod(s) I use as a base - they are listed in the requirements.
Is there any way the helmet could be worn by a female character? My follower's head just goes invisible when I give it to her. I know the armor is male only but it shouldn't be impossible to just make it appear as it is right?
The male meshes are: armor\DragonLord Armor\DragonLordhelmm_1.nif armor\DragonLord Armor\DragonLordPlumehelmm_1.nif
So by looking at the plugin - meshes are assigned for male/female. Further, looking at the ARMA entry, the standard races are supported e.g. Argonian, Khajiit, Orc, Nord, the various Elves and their vampire counterparts.
That said, need more info regarding "invisible" head. What race/gender is your character. And, do you have any assets overwriting the female meshes described above?
Thank you for replying! The follower is Serana, her race is nord and she's a female. When she equips the dragonlord plumed helmet, her head goes invisible but the helmet doesn't show up either. I don't know if this will help but when I gave her a modded face mask after she has equipped the dragonlord plumed helmet, the face mask shows up and floats in the emptiness where her face usually is (The mask can be equipped with any headgear I think).
I don't think anything is overwriting the Armor\Dragonbone\DragonboneHelmetF_1.nif file. The female dragonbone helmet shows up in game for me as usual.
I don't know much about modding but I know a little bit. Should I be asking for help on the page of the actual mod instead? I appreciate your help very much!
Okay. I was able to replicate your issue. This wasn't a simple plugin adjustment.
Context: The existing plugin points to a model of helmet which are "close-faced". The plugin points to a female model which is "open" faced. Close face helmets are partitioned as "head" whereas the open helmets are partitioned as "hair" in the Armor Addon section of the plugin. This partition component cannot easily be separated.
In the plugin under the Armor Addon, the "head" portion tells the game to not load the head. When trying to load a female head - it is unable to do so, because the DragonboneHelmet has a "hair" partition (because it is open face). Thus the invisible head is the result. I created a quick hotfix to resolve this. This is by no means a promise sculpting female body armor meshes. That is something to be done in Blender or 3DS. Skill set beyond me.
Thank you very much, LordMithro! the patch works like a charm! I deeply appreciate your help and your time! This is one of the few helmets with a great plume and I think it looks amazing. I just wanted the helmet for my follower so thank you yet again!
Yes I am using the HDT mod for the plume as well, and the plume isn't moving when serana has it equipped but the plume is there and I'm by all means still greatly thankful for your help. I sent you a friend request on Discord if you want to discuss the HDT plume, my username is Kanonkulan.
Great work!!It looked quite odd with the neck gap and other gaps in arm and lag when equipping only the armor or gloves. So far working nice. Can you may be fix the neck gap more maybe? It still has some kind of black mesh.
Nice work! I'm doing HDT-SMP on all the Zerofrost's armors. I have completed Medusa, Drakul and Raven Witch Armor, next work is DragonLord and Valkyrie Armor. I love Zerofrost's armors! They're gorgeous!
Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate your work as well.
If desired, feel free to use any of my "fixes" since Zerofrost left open permissions and HDT-SMP would really improve the armor set. I look forward to what you create.
What would be great is a re-vamped All-in-One mod which includes the fixes and HDT-SMP. It would be like Zerofrost NG.
Unfortunately, when I load the mod Skyrim SE Dragonlord Armor HDT Plume and Fixed Robe after your tweaks, it appears to make your tweak completely redundant. It also loses the ESP-FE/ESL flag. At least I fixed the ESL problem by running the ESP through ESPFE Follower - Eslify facegen and voices. Then the plume disappeared anyway, though that could have been an issue with my load order. So I went back to just using your tweaks.
Hopefully we can get a good physics version combined with your improvements.
Also, I actually found your mod while looking for a female version. I see that you are at least interested in that, too.
A HIMBO BodySlide version for males of the armor would be great as well.
Quick question: Would your tweaks work if I loaded them after Zerofrost Ultimate Armor Collection? It is a collection that includes the Dragon Lord armor. I have not installed it yet.
The Dragon Lord Armor is one of the best armors in the game! Thanks for what you have started! Wish I had the skills to help!
If you loaded my mod after xdanikitty915x's upload you might have some manual patching to do as my mod makes adjustments to the esp. The form IDs most likely would not match as there is a difference between the esp and espfe. (I have not tested this, just making an educated guess.)
As for compatibility with AnonimDark2's HDT plume upload - this mod and that upload are not compatible.
If someone with the right talent is interested in female meshes - I would be happy with the progression too! Though, that is a skillset beyond me at the writing of this post.
HIMBO, on the other hand, is a matter of time. On the to-do (with a few of the other Zerofrost ports).

If you have CTD when using the swords - please download the hotfix.
The meshes were downloaded from the oldrim mod and run through CAO.
Nif Optimizer does something which causes the CTD.
Allows female characters to wear the helmet. The remaining armor will still be Dragonbone.
Need someone comfortable with 3D modelling to adjust the meshes for female characters.

Armor Addon (ARMA)
DragonLordHelmentAA
Armor\Dragonbone\DragonboneHelmetF_1.nif
DragonLordPlumeHelmetAA
Armor\Dragonbone\DragonboneHelmetF_1.nif
Both of the above are vanilla meshes.
The male meshes are:
armor\DragonLord Armor\DragonLordhelmm_1.nif
armor\DragonLord Armor\DragonLordPlumehelmm_1.nif

You mentioned "dragonlord plumed helmet". Are you using the HDT version?
Though it would be far more efficient and effective to use a platform such as Discord. LordMithro#3875

My tweaks do not add HDT at this time.
Based on the post here by Team TAL on Patreon this is not a method I will follow i.e. copying those assets here.
Either I will have to learn HDT for SE (since it is different than LE), or someone will have to collaborate to get the job done.
