It is sad to say that this was the cause of the randow crashes I was getting while playing at survivor. Hope anyone can recomend a fix or a alternative, cause it was a good mod

R.A.S.S  causes random crashing, I tried it on a new save.

Since Skyrim Update in December 2023 and re-installing the 1.5.97 version (with BEE) I experienced so many crashes, freezes, CTDs, Crashes to new-start of PC I never had any clue what happened. Last week I deinstalled Wet and Cold and started a new game once more and suddenly no more havoks ingame. Amazing but sad, because I loved this mod so much.

this mod doesn't seem to really recognize the built-in survival mode, like the clothing and armor i wear doesn't seem to show the warmth on each item, it says survival is on in the settings and other functions show up like the icons when i'm hot or cold but the clothing doesn't show anything, the additions to your health and stamina do show though, does this mod make the warmth information irrelevant or something?

based on posts on other mods, I believe they are suppose to be used without skyrim original Survival mode.

Why do people still bother with this mod when there are much better alternatives, without ctd and allat bs

Sometimes I wonder why modders bother at all when the community treats them like this. What a crappy thing to post on a mod page. So many other ways you could've phrased that. Also, your alternatives have their own issues down to their aesthetic core, so it is far from a direct replacement.

This mod has sh* ton of issues that people are trying resolve till this day
I said why people bother cuz mod author clearly does not since 2020 which is not bad thing, i just listed alternatives and people enjoyed them.

The MA is retired, and Step has only recently gained access. It will take time to begin addressing existing issues.

R.A.S.S and Skyrim is Cold are both compatible with and intended to be used alongside Wet and Cold.

You can use them separately of course. The former is a shader mod and the latter is a SPID clothing distributor.

The thing is that for some reason some people love to pretend that theres nothing wrong with this mod. As someone who used it for years on a pretty small load order, it definitely causes random freezing. I recommend trying out Cold Behaviour instead. Way more lightweight and does exactly what this one does, and has some extra features too if I remember right.

I don't have any issue with Wet & Cold so far, just saying... and there lot of mods that can enhance it as well (textures, hdt-smp...).

On the contrary, I'm thankful this was posted. I enjoy this mod, but crashes my game so much, like every 5 minutes. Glad there are better alternatives. Thanks!

The posts on this mod seem to have a TON of people complaining about major issues happening, like ash dust storms in Riverwood and problems recognizing interior from exterior cells?

Mod have a problem with NAT3 Weather + NAT ENB. It adds 3 new Ash-falling weather types to Solstheim. They causes "Something is wrong" - like error.
Solution: Open this in SSEEdit and delete "Weather" section (last in the list).  Save and exit.

@CynicalDolphin Tell me what your doing lmao, i downgraded from current version to 1.5.97, didnt work on both. I read somewhere theres a spell to start the mod but i cant find it and frankly what i read is pretty old. The most i would get is sometimes a npc wheres a hood but rarely. Do you just install and it works? I got other mods like RASS and Cold Behavior and they work. But doesnt have all the feartures for all weathers like this mod.

I have some npcs with the dusty effect and  dust survival on them even though they are in skyrim. Is there a way to reset the effects on these characters as right now all I can do is disable the mod to get them back to normal.

ok i downgraded to 1.5.97 on steam. Whats the exact version you got. Also i gound more success with with skyrim is cold, cold weather behavior, and RASS. NPCs just dont wear ash and rain cloths. But they have ash rain and cold effect on them no problem. Lmk if those mods help you. The oldest version of Skyrim SE they work on is 1.5.97 i think just so you know.

Are the CTDs a AE version thing or a survival mode thing? OR both? For people who are using 1.5.97 version, are you still experiencing CTDs? Debating whether to use this or another weather mod since I'm using the ingame survival mode on a downgraded SE version

I'm using 1.5.97 and I've had no problems. I do not have the downgrade version, so I don't have any of the AE survival stuff.

Using it on AE 1.6.1170, no ctd from this mod in 55 hours.

SE 1.5.97, backported most of the CC, not running Survival Mode (I prefer the more robust Frostfall and iNeed), had no crashes that could be traced to this mod.

My game hard freezes every 10 minutes or so and I have to Task Manager out of it. I'm not using Survival Mode so it's this mod imo.

I'm SO GLAD  I stumbled across a post about constant freezing being caused by this mod. I have given up playing Skyrim again and again because I couldn't figure it out.

EDIT: It is DEFINITELY caused by this mod! I removed it completely and the hard freezes I was getting every 10 minutes or so has completely stopped!

Does anyone know of an alternative to Wet and Cold that augments Frostfall and works with Cloaks?
