Version of this mod for Legendary Edition Skyrim is ready! Conditional tavern cheering (DAR) - LE

DAR is causing crashes you heard? Well yes, but actually NO, read this short article "Too many DAR animations can lead to CTD - read this to know how to avoid it"

File names are too long Nexus can install it, but renaming the file to New Tavern Cheering seems to do the trick :)

hi my npc are breakdancing when cheerin or playing an instrument. Is that related to your mod?
    1. That is probably from Underdog

Thank you so much for this! I've always hated the vanilla clapping and cheering animations… The NPCs carrying them out look and sound like a group of trained seals performing for their next bucket of raw herring “... arf...arf....arf...”
    This is a MASSIVE improvement!

Question for you, do these also, by chance, affect the horribly awkward claps and cheers that occur when whatever leader of the troops issues their speech before the storming of Windhelm/Solitude, near the ending of the Civil War? That's always so incredibly cringe-inducing.

Seal clapping is such a good description :) I felt that, but it was ungraspable for my consciousness for some reason...

This mod has no replacers for those civil war cheering animations, but it can be done, what do you want to see instead? Maybe you have some movie scene in mind

      lol!

OK, I'm having trouble thinking of a movie… but perhaps something along the lines of the intro scene in AC: Odyssey. Obviously, it would need to be adapted, because, simply for starters, the soldiers there are using spears, but that scene conveys, I feel, a far more appropriate tone. And thank you very much for considering this! My comment wasn't even intended as a request, so, even if it's something you're unable to manage, I still really appreciate your interest in having a look.

Anyone else have NPC's cheering in the middle of an OSTIM scene?

There was someone with similar problem, but there were no follow up how it was fixed.

Select NPC with console and activate OAR animation log, wait when cheering starts, see in log what mod is responsible

I think it may be related to script lag

Hopefully this removes the massive gorilla female hands from vanilla animations they get from cheering 🙌

I uninstalled this but Serana is still doing the rf_playful_idle, rf_playful_talk01, rf_playful_talk02, rf_playful_talk03(which I really don't want her to do, especially when we're having a serious conversation or doing a serious quest).  She just does those over and over. I couldn't find it in the OAR menu to toggle those off so she wouldn't use them so I just uninstalled it but she's still doing it. Apparently these were added by Dawnguard itself, but I've never seen Serana do those in my previous games, especially the talk03 where she looks like an excited little kid, so I think it was this mod that assigned to her to do those animations?

Not sure if your other mods add it for her to do too. I'm also using Immersive Folded Hands(OAR) and  NPC Animation Remix (OAR) but I tried taking those out of my load order too already when I couldn't get rid of her doing those idles and dialogue talks.

Don't know what to do now to get rid of it.

Yes, this is her vanilla behavior, there is a mod to disable her special animations No special Serana Animations
Maybe you have SDA, it will make her use some animations much more frequently than in vanilla game

I'm not using SDA but I am using some other Serana mods like Serena Dialogue Edit, Snuggly Serana and Serana Follower Framework to name a few. Your mod replaces the dawnguard added animations she uses though right? I don't recall them ever looking like they do now in my game. I think it's especially the rf_playful_talk03 that looks like an animation a child npc should be using. As a last resort I could use the mod you linked to disable all of them but would still like to figure out what's causing them to be tweaked the way they are now. Even now I can look up videos of a unmodded playthrough and the gestures she makes in that vs my game are quite different.

I used some gestures and idle animation files from Serana for children, not the other way around, and at the moment no mod I made touches her standard idle and gesture combo. Serena Dialogue Edit can make her switch between standard animations more often and it can resemble the way copied animations are used with children in LCA I guess?

It appears that might be the case. After some more testing with SDE if the disposition she has for my PC goes to 25 or more with that mod she starts using the animations from LCA. Odd though I don't even have LCA installed but I can tell just from the 1st preview video of LCA(on its description page) that's she's using those exact animations down to a T. Specifically in that preview video she's using the one at the 0:39 second mark in that video alot and is very distracting for an adult to use it in my game.

Yeah, if those animations play too often, that may look wierd. I think in vanilla game Serana only uses them in specific moments, so it must be fitting, but to have it on repeat is a bit much

Hey Homiette, is this your only mod which requires a special mod name for MO2? Because I've merged your mods into one folder for easy merging & not so much of any ovverwhelming modlist lol.

Shortening mod name is needed for any mod when whole file path on Windows level is too long for OS to be able to access files. It will depend on where you have your mod folder installed. Best to have close to disk root.
You can paste folders of all DAR mods into one with right directory, that is ok, but it will make updating more complicated, you will have to re-do all motions... You can create separator with all animation mods and never expand it to achive neat look :)

Hi Dear Author thanks for updating the mod.
Would be nice to see the change log though..updating mods is always risky.

Animation replacer mods are the rare ones that are not risky to update, that is why I only shortly describe changes in file description, for now

is this one of the DAR mods that works with Open Animation Replcer (OAR) as well? or does this need to be converted? does anyone know?

All DAR mods work with OAR in legacy mode, install, activate and forget. Where is your worry coming from? Is someone been spreading misinformation about how to use OAR?

ok thank you so much for answering so quickly :)
I thought that that was the case, but I noticed a few mods in my load order are now posting updates with seperate files for OAR and DAR compatibility... So no worries about misinformation somewhere, just confusion on my end. Sorry, I guess I could have also asked one of the mods that confused me haha. Just really wanted to be sure I could still use this gem without using the DAR-OAR converter on nexus :)

OAR has additional functionality as well as a more manageable in game UI which doesn't organize mods too well that use legacy dar. probably some of the reasons other mods are having multiple versions or releasing new OAR specific versions

Stupid question, but is there a specific way to figure out if this mod works?

All I've seen are npcs performing different types of fast and slow clapping at the end of the song, and nothing else. None of them react when the music is playing like I've seen in some videos.

My mod adds new variants to animations, but doesn't change what animations are played, when and how often. To see more tavern idles you will need help from other mods, something like AI Overhaul SSE
