I'm using Experience along with this mod. In this mod's MCM, the Experience setting are not working. I set the Base Xp or the Multiplier to something and they both reset to default at once.
The other settings work fine, I see them change in the .json, but the Experience related ones stay on default.
I'd have to review my code,.something I'm unable to do at the moment unfortunately. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'll address it when I'm able to.
Is there any way to workaround the "The Skyshard was unable to advance this skill" thing? At first I thought it might have been related to Experience and level caps, but even after increasing fSkillCapMult in Experience I haven't been able to figure it out.
Thanks for the quick reply! It looks like the problem was with the Experience.ini after all. My solution wasn't working at first, but it seems I needed to level up at first to have the new skill cap to take effect. Thanks anyway!

No CTD's here since hesitant to install at this moment. I just see last updated 2023 but november 2024 having a crash report by someone also July 2024. Was unsure if those got fixed or not, sorry for confusion haha. I did play with this in 2022 and it was a good mod btw o: (No sarcasm intended btw. Moddders do hard work and I appreciate modders for making stuff!!!)
Installing realistic death physics no animations, fixed the issue that was sucking and tangling dead npc's into the floating skyshard when long animations caused the npc to occupy the same space as the skyshard... Also installed body collision fix as an extra precaution.
Hello AshenShugarII, I get a crash in the Temple of Xrib each time I try to save. Problem's gone as soon as I disable this mod. No crash in Sightless Pit, only in Temple of Xrib. It might be caused by something related to the boss container because I have configured the mod so that only boss chests receive Skyshard Splinters. I have cleared dozens of dungeons with no problem. Hello AshenShugarII, "Locations that have been Cleared will be able to receive Skyshards again after they reset" => is it possible to do something so that a cleared dungeon can never receive skyshards again ? Just to let you know, your mod works perfectly on my heavily moded playthrough. I have configured it so that only boss chests receive Skyshard Splinter, and 3 of them give a random skill increase.
The mod doesn't currently support this but I could add an option to the mcm/config file easily enough. Might not be able to get to it this year though, pretty busy irl and travelling frequently.
Experience installed. Interacting with Skyshard gives me options to level up skills/convert or take. Using the Skyshard via inventory consumes it and grants player Exp. I read that the Skyshard isn't supposed to function that way, but it was interesting the way it did. Use the fresh shard now to level up a skill or save it for later in a "not as fresh" state and use it to get closer to the next level, especially if carrying multiple shards. If wanting to convert the shards to Epic via dialogue, one would commit to saving shards until the next Boss Dropped shard appears to finally cash in on that sweet perk point. I enjoy the mod, endorsed.
Hi, love this mod, I have Experience installed. I tried to modify the Experience level multiplier in the MCM but for some reason this can't be saved and it immediately returns to zero after I exit the menu. All other settings work fine. Is there a potential mod conflict?
Hi, sorry I had only noticed your post now. I am on 1.6.640. I am using the latest version of Skyshards offer skills, and just tried to adjust the level mult - still doesn't save the settings. All other settings are saved however, I had just put "boss drop skyshard" percentage chance to 14% and this is saved.
Latest update - I have changed the Exp level multiplier via the json file and everything is good. I finally got the settings changed. Btw I don't get any crashes using this mod - love this concept a lot - Endorsed.

So I've come across two mods that seem to indirectly affect your mod (the don't give an error in Xedit).
Time-Based Enemy Scaling (Skyshards appear, but dialouge is broken so you can't level up skills)
Mastery - A crafting skill potency mod (Skyshards never drop and/or are never placed in boss chests)
There may be one more underlying factor, but I haven't pin-pointed it yet. I used to get Skyshards from mini-boses (Ice wraiths at Weynon Stones or Skeevers at Windward Ruins) but they no longer give shards. Giants and dungeon bosses/band chiefs still do, so it's not totally borked. Unless it was already borked and those enemies weren't supposed to give shards 😅. The only thing I can think of is I stopped using Valhalla, but that shouldn't affect how your mod targets bosses. I'll let you know if I figure it out.
Addendum: Figured it out! Turns out it's [The Dragonborn's Bestiary] that's causing mini-bosses to not drop Skyshards. After I made I post I let my mind wander and realized there are only a few mods I've downloaded recently that touch enemies, the most prevalent being the bestiary. Might be worth looking into this one too.
Second Addendum:As far as I can tell, either the newest update fixed the issue or reverting to version 2.22 did. Not sure which, but I got both mods to play nice (which is awesome, as I really liked Bestiary). Hopefully this information can be useful to someone in the future. Sorry for the (maybe?) false alarm!
False lead; turns out the Bestiary still causes issues. I thought things were fine because the two mods were playing nice, but that's only because I started a game with Bestiary disabled. When I enabled it both mods seem to work fine, but after several hours Skyshards stopped dropping again. I'll have to leave it disabled for now until I get definitive proof that it's causing issues.
