Emily was made using Skyrim v1.5.97, so she's compatible with both SE and AE.
Also, don't gift Emily clothes. She uses a custom race, so she can't equip vanilla children's clothes. She thinks they're ugly anyways and will refuse to wear them. Just a use a follower management mod (like AFT) to manage outfits.
I downloaded all of the required files and finished the quests, i still cant adopt Emily, I'm still a noob at mods but I did follow the instructions. The rest of the kids can be adopted except for Emily she just stays on the seat ;-;
Okay, dumb question: do you have a home she can live in? Also, is she giving you any dialog options? And yeah, she should work just fine with almost any follower framework.
any follower will even those that say not to use them with them like ingo the trick is make sure its setup right from the start of the game to not overwrite the way the follower works a good example is my oldrim game which has around 30+ follower mods including ones that dont like mods like aft all working together it is related to load order and having the right mods each needs look into each follower mod and see what they need get those and ensure they are loaded when they should be you may have to set the rules within the mod manager yourself to ensure they work but they will
she charming just fine as cute adopted child. however i start new life with her set as follower didn't work yet for me. i use AFT and RDO. i've been back and fort whiterun - riften couple time already. am gonna back here again after meet her

It's always funny to see Emily take on a frost troll with a legendary bucket and broom. And I found out that she actually has some dialogue with Auri, though not much, are you planning on having your mods interact with other modded followers?
Awesome mod! I have a problem though; I adopted Emily with no problems, then Sophie. So far so good. Then I adopted "Emily The Messy" and now your Emily won't sleep in bed and the dialogue to hug her (Papa loves you) is gone. Both Emilies are named Dovahkiir now. I thought I could adopt both because thier ref IDs were different. Bugesda stings again...
Any help or suggestions? (no, I won't sacrifice her and try again even if she is a red-headed step child :)

Will there be more adoptable kids from you? I'm picturing 6 of them with buckets and brooms trashing bandits and wolves at Lakeview Manor...
I've had similar issues with other followers with the same name, and I always wondered if it had something to do with the 'short name' value in the CK, since in this case they're both listed as Emily. Might be some weird interference between the two. That's just a guess though. You could try opening one of them in the CK and changing it. Or, maybe, pay Boethiah a visit.

Creation Kit, the official tool for making mods. You could also just use SSEEdit to change things. Just google some tutorials. I don't have Skyrim installed right now, so I can't really test things.
Adopting Emily and Emily the messy in the same playthrough destroys the adoption process and removes several HF dialogues from the first Emily adopted. Ask me how I know,,,
for some reason when I try to ask her to follow me she just says "Nah, I dont think so" Am I missing something? Edit: nvm. Just cant have more than one follower
I've used Nether's framework to manage Emily and she has a twin now. Seriously, there are 2 Emilies and they both wear the same outfit and cape. Everytime i disable her twin, another one appears again in Arch-Mage's Quarters. How can i stop this?
I honestly don't know. I used Emily with NFF for quite a while and never ran into her getting duplicated. I can't even think of what kind of mod conflict would cause that. Sorry I can't be of more help.
