A lot of people seem to think the minor details don't make much of a difference. Those people would be incorrect. The small objects are everywhere and once you see them improved in your game you cannot go back.
No texture is safe in my game. From bats to ants. From apples to GOD DAMN LADLES...My game will be gorgeous and I will eliminate every. Single. Vanilla texture I see.
If you really need a target then I'd suggest smelters or wood chopping blocks. Nobody seems to have any love for them (kind of understandable). SMIM has a slightly improved smelter model afaik but there's no good retexture for it. There has also been a new chopping block mesh a while ago but no texture for it. Then... water basins are also a catastrophe. Haven't found a single retexture of the vanilla water basins. They have an awful mesh anyway but there's an animated water mod floating around which makes them interesting again. Leather straps & leather are also a pain to look at (retextures exist but I haven't found a good one). Still many horrible items around.
