~Dove~

Native from Cyrodiil, home of the White-Gold Tower, Dove could not stand the view of those white bricks anymore. She fled in Tamriel with nothing more than a Dwarven dagger stolen from her father's bedside desk and a bar of gold. Dove detached from her parents and prefers to forget about them and anything related to her origins, she's now free and wants to keep it that way.

Tired of living a cute lovely life, taking care of her appearance to please the eyes of those highly esteemed by her parents, Dove chose to recluse herself in nature. She secretly trained herself in archery so she knows how to use a bow and will hunt down whatever she can may it be on land or in the water, if she can see it, she can hunt it. Dove LOVES archery. She just loves that twangy feeling and the shivers felt when that arrows reaches that sweet spot on it's target.

Dove studied the nature of humans and has her own ways to distinguish a true free living creature. Dove believes in herself and has no reasons to attach herself to any form of god-like entities. She fears no alliances as she is free to believe what she wants. She'll have no problems in breaking an alliance with anything or anyone that will try to constrain her in life or death.

I will live free both in life and in death!

Dove also has no special feelings about any race or humanoid creatures. She won't even bulge when seeing imperials because in her eyes, all humans and humanoids are the same and none are defined by their nature or origins. A human is a human, that's it! She found her own way of living and hunts whatever is available near her. She settled near a body of water providing fresh food. Her shelter is mounted near a mountain side for better weather protection. She managed to get hold of a few armor pieces to better suite her new HER!

Although she is free, Dove is not stupid and know that this vast world is littered with numerous dangers. She lives peacefully in her small home but her heart dreams of adventure, discovery and most of all, freedom!!!

Dove kept a journal hoping it may serve to inspire a true adventurer.

Location

Dove loves nature more than cities but won't care roaming around in populated areas as long as it's not Cyrodiil. You'll find her in the woods near a mountain side where she will have created her own little comfort. She built her camp a short distance west of Ilinalta's Deep situated near The Lady Stone.

She will gladly and unhesitatingly follow you once you meet her. She will wear a disparate attire which amplifies her free attitude of not needing to wear all the matching stuff like she was forced to when living in the "Great" city. She'll have her precious bow with her. She's not living a very prestigious life so she acquired just the basics for hunting to live peacefully without attracting too much attention. Dove spends most of her time hunting in the morning and doing her stuff in the afternoon in the shade of her small natural home. If you cannot find her at her camp, just wait, she probably is a bit far because of the hunting but she'll be on her way home.

Dove's basic stats

Well, she's an archer. She can also heal her companions if their health is low. Aside from that, she's designed to be good with a bow so find the best bow and arrows and give it to her, this will please her a lot. Dove is pretty normal and has no exaggerated boosts. She is marriageable and essential.

Dove also has a small AI for her healing abilities. She will not always instantly heal you. After all, she's also occupied fighting your foes. Dove has a strong companionship spirit and will try to heal you as much as your teammates in combat. She will struggle in battle as much as you trying to heal you, your teammates or simply not having an opportunity because she's trying to survive herself.

Dove's Body Type and recommended preset for her

69 Beauties - OBody NG port
I highly suggest this config for your game. It's a bit teadious to install because you have AT LEAST another 69 mods to download BUT it will GREATLY improve diversity in your game. The author has also added Dove in the morphs file. Dove was meant to be petite so I found that TruPetite SSE - A Petite CBBE 3BA BodySlide Preset fitted her perfectly without any exagerated breast size and good petite proportions.

My Unimmersive author speech

This is the first Follower mod I have ever created. For a very long time, I wanted to create a follower but was too impressed by how complicated it is to work in the CreationKit. I also was seeking for a Vanilla follower which will use your own body mesh and textures. She uses the default follower options and the standard young female voice. Since everything is pretty new, I have not been into questing and custom dialogues yet so this is just a basic follower with just 2 lines of dialogue which I found in the vanilla game that suited her back story.

I created a few scripts that DO NOT rely on SKSE. A long awaited script permitting to wear items rather than outfits. I wanted her to be naked if she has nothing to wear in her inventory rather than always wearing a default clothing set. This gives you the freedom to give her the outfit of your choice.

I have NavMeshed the entire camp site. This was a learning for me because I had never NavMeshed anything before. Her journal is lying on the camp site so just look around and you'll find it. It's not super hidden. This should give you a better immersion for the few lines I put in her dialogue.

As of version 1.3.0, I have added a small AI for Dove's healing capabilities. It's simple but I find it pretty immersive to not have instant health regen during battle. So she will not automatically heal you as soon as your health drops below 50. She is still alert but the AI also simulates her being busy with your enemies, this means that if your health is low, do not rely on instant health regen. Get yourself in a corner and wait for a bit, Dove will become alert, just giver her time, she cannot do everything at the same time.

Version 1.3.1 has been a nice journey for me which permitted me to integrate a team spirit in Dove. She will now try to heal other teammates as well. The programming of this was a nice challenge and I also am proud that none of this uses SKSE or other dependencies. This is all pure Vanilla Papyrus coding. The system that implements this is kind of basic but it turns out to work super well. I also find this new addition to fit Dove's personality of companionship and freedom. She's not a Dragonborn obsessed lunatic, she lives to be free and wants the greater good for the entire team.

Insignificant hickups

• If you happen to be in the same spawn location as Dove to begin, it may take a second before she wears her default gear so you may see her naked
for about a second before the script hops in and dresses her up for the first time.

• Dove loves to hunt during the day so you may not even see her at her camp. If you see her, you may need to insist in talking to her before the dialogue triggers. (For the sake of having some fun, don't take her yet as a follower and follow her during her hunting when you meet her in the morning. You'll be surprised up until where she'll go to hunt.)

Installation, requirements and compatibility

This mod uses the assets from KS Hairdos and Maevan2's brows. I made this mod standalone but it is safe to overwrite my files with those 2 mods since I use the same paths, meshes and textures. For Maevan2, I use the Standalone version so if you used the replacer version, you will need to install Maevan2's brows texture from my package. If in any case you overwrite my files with those other 2 mods, it should not matter. All entries should be unique and not cause any compatibility issues. I do not support HDT hair but I open permissions for people who would be willing to give her hair with physics with proper credits to me.

As for her camping site, well, any mods that edit those zones may come in conflict. You should load this mod far below all other nature and grass mods.

I supplied an icon file for those using CPS Resource Packs. The following 2 mods are required:

• CPS Resource Packs
• Party Combat Parameters

I suggest you use the "Legendary" CPS pack since I based my icon on the Legendary style.

Install my CPS file after installing the 2 mods listed above.

What mods do I use?

In short, all the mods I list in my CBM Guide and CBM Guide X.

Main mods used for Dove:
• Body: CBBE body (Curvy body, Her weight is 50, She'll use whatever body mod you have installed so should be compatible with UNP setups)
• Skin: ALT1_CBBE (free version) and Sapphire's Overhauled Skin (ALT1 option)
• Armor: It's the Vanilla Forsworn Armor with textures replaced by a mod which I do not remember listed in my CBM Guide
• Makeup: It's actually just the Vanilla options that I maxed out with some HD textures all listed in my CBM Guide.

Basically, Dove wears all Vanilla gear and makeup so if you change those, it will also change on her. The only non Vanilla things are her hair and eyebrows.

Note on the gloves: Her set of gloves is available in one single place on one single character in the Vanilla game and it was enchanted. I simply duplicated that entry and removed the enchantment. So there again, it's all Vanilla assets.
