Changelogs
Version 1.0.1
replaces 'deleted' flags with 'initially disabled' flags instead.
Version 1.0
Initial. Hides all map markers except for discovered capital cities and established Hearthfire homes.

No donations accepted
mmm (Minimal Map Markers)
is achieved by adding 'initially disabled' flags to each non-capital city map marker and removing the 'visible' flag for each capital city marker. It is also ESL flagged. This is all accomplished through xEdit.
Alternative option: - Download "Minimal Map Markers NO" from the 'files' tab instead for complete removal of map markers from the base game besides player's current location, quest markers, and custom waypoint.
Notes: This mod should be safe to uninstall (gameplay-wise) at any point. After uninstalling, you might see places you've been to whose map markers are blacked out. If you want to enable fast travel for those locations, you will have to manually reach them, first.
