CHANGE LOG 1.7 - flagged as ESL, assets for wayshrines and castle added, max zoom slightly increased. 22.04.2022 - background art added, as well as fast travel marker from FV to Skyrim. 08.01.2023 - zoom increased, minor background edit. 1.9 - added UW and higher FOV support, upscaled map texture and background to 8K, added SoS support. Size increased to 43Mb. 1.9.1 - compressed to BC1 (lossless).
Hey there! First of all thanks for all your map mods. I have an issue with this map: I installed it and checked if Flat Map Markers config file was right but I still see my satellite skyrim map and not the forgotten vale one. The other map mods (soul cairn, solstheim and blackreach) work perfectly. What could be the issue? img
nmv I had to rerun dyndolod and now I see it. I hope this will help others
then its on your side, mb some immersion mod is hiding them, mb smth else. anyway as I've mentioned before the only way FWMF interact with markers if flattening them. if you'd get floating over the map markers - that would mean you forgot to whitelist FV in FOMOD, all other cases is your mod list fault.
Doesn't seem to work for me. It just pulls up a normal Local Map when in the Vale. Yes I read the instructions. Yes FWMF is at the bottom. The other addon mods I have for FWMF works fine
what do you mean by Local Map? without working mod it would show you just skyrim global map in exteriors. if you see some 3d mesh in Map Menu (for global map), that just means smth overwrites either FV mesh or its worldspace in plugin. check your Overwrite folder for those (first canditate is dyndolod).
When you're in the map you press L to open a local map for dungeons or town or the surrounding area. It's in vanilla skyrim.
But it's still not working with DynDoLOD even being disabled so it might be a conflict with another mod. MO dosen't show anything else overwriting the mod so idk. And My mod list is massive so I don't feel like going through a long multi-day trouble shoot for a relatively insignificant part of the map. Disappointing because it does look like an incredible map. But your FWMF does work and it already a standard for my modlist. I'll defiantly give it an endorsement .
that's damn weird, this map doesn't differ from any other I made technically. it should work completely fine by calling Map Menu with M as any global map. hope you will figure out culprit sooner or later on your own, because I can't rly help without knowing your environment.
Out of all the Maps I love the look of this one the most. So Detailed. Of course, I like the others as well ... But this one blows me away. Thank you for uploading this.
This map is gorgeous but... Since I can't fast travel away from the vale, how am I supposed to get out? :D There are no quest markers leading me out of there.
you work are simple amasegin great work, i cant belive it can change the feel off the game that much, its like it makes enb fit better and the beautiful look with enb light and with the dear dairy make every thing work better and faster, ty so much. i want to hear what you think of makin this and the dayspring like the rest of the paper maps, its just i use the maps that looks like paper, i like the ider of no help and markers and i like the feel of a real map where i hav to find my own way, its mostly so it all fits. i think you paper maps like soul carin its some of the best work i seen the detail in a simple paper flat map its fantastik. keep it up mate
thank you for you kind words! yes, I prefer to make isometric maps (like one for dayspring canyon) but its pretty time-consuming so not always an option for bigger areas right now, when modding/mapping is a pure hobby to me. but some new maps like that will pop up eventually.
glad you like it. I would do that already for mainland skyrim, if it wasn't so immensely time-consuming for large maps. not any time soon. but in future - well, maybe.
I've slowly been working on my first set up for Skyrim on PC, and many earlier tests showed me that if these map framework maps are not at the very bottom of both the left and right panes in MO2, then I get a blue void for the world map with only the Throat of the World poking through it. I'm nearing the end of my set up and while I haven't been able to test out if a void exists in the Forgotten Vale, I have finished running DynDOLOD 3...and I can see that if I follow GamerPoets original video for DynDOLOD and leave my TexGen and DynDOLOD Outputs at the bottom of my left pane, both this map and Paper Sovngarde have files overwritten by DynDOLOD.
rule of the thumb for all map mods is they should be dead last in load order, including dyndolod. there is comment on FWMF main page with instruction how to make them work nice if you have vortex, maybe that will help you.

Only the "to Skyrim" and "The Forgotten Vale" mapmarkers work.
Anybody an idea?
overall, FWMF and its maps doesn't alter markers beside their flattening (z coords) via Flat Map Markers plugin inside FWMF FOMOD.
