    Having issues after updating?
    Delete your settings.json file and re-launch synthesis!

    • Open the directory where you installed synthesis
    • Open Data/Another-Archery-Patcher/
    • Delete settings.json
    • Re-launch synthesis and wait for the patcher to compile.

    if I only want to edit the gravity and speed, and keep every other settings as default (like impact force, sound level etc). How would I do this ?

      You can disable them in the patcher settings through the Synthesis client.

    It took me a long time to learn about your mod. Your wiki page is great and very detailed, but I still have some problems. I am in China and it is difficult for me to download things from github, so I used Scheme 3. I used Mo2 to install your mod. I obtained AnotherArcheryPatcher.esp, but I did not find setting.json

      A friendly suggestion: Consider making your mod easier to use

      A super friendly suggestion. Consider other mods? There are many easy to understand mods in Nexusmods website. The .esp are obsolete if you are using this synthesis patcher. read the instructions. The description did not put the .esp version as requirement

    I'm having a bit of an issue with this and Improved Camera's headbob.

    Basically, regardless of tilt up angle settings the arrow goes above the crosshair.

    Anyone got a setup with both Improved Camera and the patcher working? (with headbob incorporated).

    Is there a reason you don't include f3PBoltTiltUpAngle?

    EDIT: Also, what do the Magnetism settings do?

    EDIT: Found your github article. Thanks.

    https://github.com/Synthesis-Collective/Another-Archery-Patcher/wiki#tilt-angle

    I'm still curious why you don't seem to use certain other similar settings:

    f3PBoltTiltUpAngle
    fMagnetismLookingMult
    fMagnetismHeadingMult

      The default value of f3PBoltTiltUpAngle is already accurate, so changing it isn't necessary.
      As for the other INI settings, fMagnetismLookingMult is mentioned on the wiki and fMagnetismHeadingMult doesn't have any observable effect in-game (from my testing, that is).

      Also worth noting is that the patcher itself doesn't actually change any INI settings, you have to do that yourself.

    I like your mod but at the same time I like ABT, I want to use your patcher to forward ABT changes but your patcher has some preconfigured settings, I understand the projectile category since the mod author of ABT provided a manual, but there are global flag tweaks, and game settings, arrow, and bolt ammo tweaks, how do I tweak it at default or ABT settings?

      I believe ABT doesn't actually change any of the other settings you mentioned, so no additional changes are necessary.
      You can disable them if you want, but there is no reason to do so.

    Whoa, this is really awesome.

    I use an obscure mod called Dynamic Arrow Tilt, do you have any advice on how to use that mod's changes with your mod?

      It should work fine without any changes from what I can see in xEdit.

      The arrow/bolt tilt settings affect the starting trajectory of the projectile, that mod makes it variable depending on your archery skill level. Since the patcher doesn't actually change the tilt level (that's controlled by the INI), it's fully compatible. See this section of the wiki for more information.

    hi i know that using synthesis will make it compatible with every mods. But what about using the standalone version ? Does the same stuff (i mean the compatibility with mods) still stand for standalone version ?
    ALso one more thing, I noticed you mentioned in your quick start editing the ini files:
    [Combat]
    f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.2
    f1PboltTiltUpAngle=0.2
    f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
    fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0
    fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0
    would this work for any other physics preset ? or only for the default settings ?

      Yes, the standalone version is also compatible with other mods.
      The INI tweaks you mentioned work well regardless of other settings.

      I noticed that with requiem preset, f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7 and f1PboltTiltUpAngle=0.7 works better than 0.2 lol, the arrow fly straight to crosshair with 0.7 ini settings on requiem preset

    Thank you for this wonderful archery mod that I would really like to be able to use. As I haven't used Synthesis before, I'd like to ask a detail about the installation instructions. Under "Method 3" it says: "The external version is capable of running independently of Synthesis. To use the patcher in this configuration, simply run the executable. (If you use a mod manager, you have to run the patcher through the mod manager!)"

    Yet before that, it's implied at the top of the page that I do need Synthesis for either of the three install options, and right before the quoted paragraph, under Method 3, the installation instructions are to "activate the patcher on the main menu". Is this initial activation via Synthesis necessary to later be able to run the .exe without using Synthesis, or can I just not bother with Synthesis from the get go and use mod manager download for the external version here on Nexus and let Vortex handle everything?

      Thanks for your interest in AAP! Hopefully I can clarify some things for you:
      The "external version" does use Synthesis, but the executable is bundled with everything that it needs from Synthesis to run; it doesn't require the Synthesis GUI client at all. I now realize it's probably more accurate to call it the "standalone version", so I'm going to change the wording in the guide.

      That being said, I recommend using the Synthesis GUI client over the standalone version whenever and wherever possible. Using the standalone version means you'll have to manually edit the settings.json file to change settings, you won't get automatic updates/update notifications, and you won't be able to use Synthesis' automatic ESP merging. All of this is handled for you by the Synthesis GUI client, so I recommend most people use it.

      Thank you for the clarification! My interest in the standalone version is purely because the other options appear impossible. I'm using Vortex and you mention needing to set up Synthesis for use with your mod manager, and I'm finding no documentation at all on how to do this (adding Synthesis as a "tool" I guess in Vortex somehow?). Also, the install options 1 and 2 didn't seem familiar compared to what I've read about other Synthesis mods that generate Synthesis.esp that gets used in your normal load order. Like, what happens in install option 1 after you "add it to your patcher list" - how does this affect your load order/game eventually? Does Synthesis need to be running in the background when you launch Skyrim for this mod to work if you use non-standlone version? Also, is it only possible to change settings in install option 2?

      Is the benefit in making it a Synthesis patcher rather than just a standalone mod as your previous Another Archery Tweaks that you can change a load order with several non-vanilla arrow mods in them? Because from a user friendliness standpoint, nothing can beat "mod manager download" + FOMOD.

      Indeed, all you should have to do is run Synthesis.exe via Vortex as a tool. From a user standpoint, using Synthesis is very similar to using any other tool used to create/modify ESPs (xEdit, zEdit/zPatch, etc.); you only need to run it when you want to generate a patch with it (it isn't necessary to keep it running in the background). Once the patch ESP is created you can close the Synthesis client.

      If you have any questions regarding setting up/using Synthesis with Vortex, I recommend checking out the Synthesis discord. Noggog (the person who made Synthesis) is very active on there and he's able to explain the process much better than I can.

      And you're right about the reason that this is a Synthesis patcher and not just a simple FOMOD. Using Synthesis allows me to ensure that modded projectiles are always handled correctly, and it also introduces a settings menu that provides users much more control than a FOMOD feasibly could.

    Does this fix the bug where some arrows on the ground don't actually get removed even if you've picked it up multiple times?
    Or might be a mod conflict, I don't know, anyways thanks for the patcher.

      This doesn't affect that in any way.
      This only affects in-flight projectiles. Once a projectile hits something, this mod no longer affects it.
