---- UPDATED TO VERSION 6 ---- Added lot more NPCs that can now have a chance to access the Creation Club backpacks. Added Special Edition, Anniversary Edition and Reduced Spawn Chance version. Use one, download whichever suits your gameplay.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NPCs that may equip backpacks include: Hunters, Fishermen (if using AE) Couriers, Vigilants of Stendarr, Dawnguard, Bandits, Forsworn, Warlocks,
Thieves, Assassins, Adventurers, Peddler Merchants, Afflicted, named NPC travelers, Khajit caravans, Imperial/Stomcloak Couriers, Alikr,
Reavers... (see images). These NPCs are spawned into the open world by Complete Randomized Spawns (not a requirement or mod dependency). These two mods are designed to work together but can be used standalone just fine.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 6: Special Edition - Generic NPCs 25% backpack spawn chance.
Version 6: Anniversary Edition - Adds backpacks to generic fisherman NPC's.
Version 6: Reduced Spawn Chance - Generic NPCs reduced backpack spawn chance to 10%.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 6 added in Khajit caravans and a few other named traveling NPCs. Originally removed these as there was an issue with them turning up naked. Let me know if there are any issues like this. This happens if you install the mod in an ongoing game, it's not a bug. With a new game there's no issues. However if you want to fix the problem in your ongoing game just open the console, click on the naked NPC type "disable" and then "enable", they'll show up wearing the backpack AND clothes. Any issues post in the discussion section and will get to them when able. Enjoy.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 5 - Added backpacks to NPC couriers.
Version 4 - Backpacks spawning on bandits lowered, removed backpacks spawning on some named NPCs.
Version 3 - Lowered chance for spawning backpacks with farm outfits. Removed backpacks from spawning with named Dawnguard NPCs.

Any chance of this excellent mod ever getting ported to Xbox?

Sorry to pester, but I'm having an issue with trying to update to V6.

At first I downloaded the AE version, because I have the AE version on GoG.  Wrye Bash throws an error saying it's an unrecognized version.  Attempting to bash goes through, but the game won't go past the first title screen without crashing.  This happens until both the updated bash patch and V6 are disabled.  I did the same thing with the SE version of V6.  Same results.

In both cases Wrye Bash is throwing an error saying it's an unrecognized version; and I can't even launch the game with just the V6 backpacks mod enabled.  Your pinned comment says it's designed to work with your "complete randomized spawns" mod, but it isn't listed as a requirement and this mod doesn't have it listed as a dependency.

Is there something else I'm missing?  Is this V6 not compatible with the GoG version?  As a note, V5 worked fine (which I suppose I'll be downgrading back to it for the time being).  Thank you for your time and consideration.

The issue should be fixed now. Let me know if this has been resolved. Thanks for the feedback. Best way to test this is working properly is to go to where you know generic NPC hunters are located, they will always have backpacks.

The new upload of V6 for AE seems to be working fine.  Wrye Bash didn't throw any errors and the game launched just fine after re-bashing it into the load order.  If anything else comes up I'll be sure to come back and post, but so far so good.  Thank you for the efforts.

Considered a SPID version but I think this does as good if not better and does not require that extra required mods be installed.

spid is a great way to avoid conflicts and it works seamlessly i dont think the average user would be afraid of installing an additional skse plugin and a really good one at that

Have created a couple of SPID mods and SPID is not always as seamless as you suggest so never uploaded them. If this particular mod has conflicts or issues feel free to mention them.

some outfit records have conflicts with OWL and WACCF and some npc records have conflict with OWL. now obviously all of these can be easily patched through xedit by myself but both of these record types are very common in a lot of mods so it would be very difficult to patch all of them. can you elaborate on the spid issues? maybe ill be of some help.

+1 for SPID version for those of us who use NPC replacers to avoid a lot of patching

Great Mod! But can you lower the chance for bandits to spawn with them a little bit?

So there is now a Reduced Spawn Chance version in the download files area. Generic NPCs reduced backpack spawn chance to 10% (from main file version 25%). Hope that works for you.

Will this need an update for the new Skyrim SE version and SKSE update? I appreciate your work and want to continue utilizing this mod. I thank you.

Would there be any chance to provide a customization update, where we can tweak appearance rates for NPC types for ourselves?

Hi if you mean a Mod Configuration Menu then probably not but you can edit the spawn chances with SSEEdit or let me know and may add another version with the changes.

Do you think you could make a version that distribute 'Big Leather Backpack' or 'Campfire' Backpacks?

Hi not at this time. But should be fairly simple if you look into SPID you could do it.
