Mod author here. Thank you for informing me of this issue. I will be releasing an update to correct this within the next couple of months when I have the time.
This Mod turns all Imperial armour heavy, Not very immersive for those who use light armour. would have known if didn't install as collection good concept for mod but deal breaker for me. don't understand why you didn't just buff number for armour but to each his own.
As this mod makes changes to NPCs, I am wondering if it is compatible with other mods that change NPC appearances, like Diversity. If it overwrites the same records, that could result in black face bugs all over the place. Please let me know if my concerns might be justified. Thanks in advance!
It's not compatible out of the box. You would need to patch, either manually or using a tool like Synthesis. Names, protected/essential flags, outfits, and appearances are all changed by the same records. You could load your appearance mods last and there wouldn't be brown faces, but you would lose the changes from this particular mod.
That's right: I just installed it and checked with SSEEdit, and it shows this mod reverting all the appearance changes back to USSEP. Uninstalled for now until a solution is available.
Fixing any conflicts is actually not that difficult. You would use xEdit, and either drag and drop the correct records into the the mod which is overwriting them, or use the Copy as override function to create a patch. But, if a person is not comfortable using xEdit, then they probably should not attempt to do so. Here is a link to a post regarding correcting conflicts in xEdit, which I wrote up: Correcting Conflicts In xEdit
A mod such as this is fantastic work - but for those of you who who don't want to learn how to patch your own mod list - it's going to be difficult. Any mod that "changes" so much as putting an earring onto a character changes the ENTIRE character record - so the facegen is reverted to vanilla. Even more trouble is that your appearance mod was loaded after the vanilla textures were - so the vanilla facegen is now trying to reference the latest textures - and the game searches for the last loaded ones, which are now a mismatch = blackface. Providing a patch is fine - but for what? If you have an appearance mod (or combination as I do), a cloak mod, an armour mod, a jewellery mod, a quest mod that changes the equipment or packages of the npc - a patch needs to merge all of them , not just this mod.
I was unaware of these things. Thank you to the above comments for all of your help, as an up and coming mod author I truly appreciate it. I am not the most experienced mod author but I have been playing Skyrim since 2014. These changes are things I always wished for back on 360, so for those of you who are helping out in the comments I truly appreciate you.
Not 100% sure it's relevant but I have not had a single black face, despite many many changes to my installed mods and load order, since installing this mod by Parapets : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42441
I just uninstalled Black Face Fix due to all the reported and supported bugs, but I have had not black faces either. I removed it from my collection and the approval rating with to 100%
Hi...i would gladly add this nice mod to my modlist, but i guess it isnt suggested to be used with USSEP and Unofficial Modders Patch all together? thanks!
I don't mean to sound demanding, but can you please add a change-log which explains what changes you are making whenever you update the mod? It's very confusing when you update regularly, but there is no information about what has changed. Adding a change-log would help to re-order my mod-list in case something you change conflicts with the settings I already use in my existing play-through.
I second this at least for hired followers, because there is a Daedric quest that requires you to sacrifice someone. So if they are marked as essential it's not possible to finish that quest.
I will not revert the followers to protected, as they already were by default. However, I will make an exception for the Boethia quest. I will make both Sven and Jenassa protected, so that the player can use either of them for this quest. Those are the most used NPCs for that quest anyways, based on several polls I used.
I am on vacation for two weeks so I will have to update the mod when I get back :)
This mod was a long time in the works. All of the gripes I and many others had with the vanilla game, tweaked and enhanced to create the "definitive" Skyrim Special Edition experience.

As always though, if in doubt, then don't.
