Surprised this isn't more popular.... I thought "screen archery" was supposed to be all the rage. *shrugs* Maybe there's something fancier out there or something, but this is perfect for me.

Needless to say, great work and endorsed.

Edit: This might be a very hyper specific niche use case but I figured I'd write a guide anyway: If anyone wants to use this with Screenshot Helper (use the MaskedRPG patch in the comments of that mod, works on my 1.5.97 game) but also is using Steam Input and wants to take a screenshot with their controller with the QOL benefits of that mod, read on (this may also benefit controller users using ENB/Reshade who find those programs take screenshots too fast resulting in the HUD/menus/UI still being on screen):

    Spoiler:
    Show
(Edit 2: I doubt you've gotten this far without it, but you'll very likely need Auto Input Switch)
-- Brilliant as is Bethesda's custom, Skyrim's default screenshot key cannot be changed (SEE BELOW), but you can use a very basic Autohotkey 2 script to register another key to send a Printscreen command; as best I can tell Steam Input can't send one on its own. For me I chose the left square bracket, so it was as easy as typing [::PrintScreen in notepad and running the script (if you're using a letter, type that letter in lower case, e.g. a::PrintScreen).

    Edit 3 (final, hopefully):
I was wrong about this. The above method will still work but it turns out you can change Skyrim's screenshot key, I failed to remember the controlmap file and couldn't find anything on Google. Basically you'll have to find data > interface > controls > PC > controlmap.txt in either your game folder or any mod using it that has ultimate priority and change the value 0xb7 next to Screenshot. You can copy and paste the new value just for that section from here. This site conveniently sets all the right scan codes -- (select code, then what you want, then scroll down to the textbox and copy and paste the new value next to Screenshot into your controlmap file). If you don't already have a loose controlmap.txt file, you can probably just safely download the whole thing from that site as it'll be the vanilla values, or a custom one from the Nexus, but any remaps in game you've set (excluding the MCM of course) may have to be redone.

Then what you'll want to do is assign this mod to a separate key in its Json file (you may have to use a letter/number, Steam Input can be selective). Next through Steam input, set your desired screenshot key to use both your pseudo-printscreen button, and the button from this mod, but for the printscreen button add a 89ms (thereabouts) delay. Nearly imperceptible to the human eye, but it'll essentially give this mod the leeway it needs as if you were using a standard overlay to screenshot, otherwise the menus will still appear in some of them. This was tested on a Steam Deck (being used as a controller through remote streaming). Hope this helps.

Love the mod, but it's not working for me in AE. When I take a screenshot the image just keeps flashing on screen, kind of super imposed into the live image on screen and it stays like this until I quit the game. This occurs even inside menus. Has anyone else had problems with this in AE? I'm on the latest AE patch. This worked perfect for me on SE for a long time.

Screenshots taken with F12 work as expected.

Okay. Thanks for the reply. I am running the latest versions of SKSE and PapyrusUtil SE for version 1.6.640 of the game. Maybe there's something else in my load order that is messing it up. I'll need to investigate further.

Again, thanks for this mod. It's a great tool for screen-archery.

So in case anyone else runs into this, my issue is definitely NOT caused by this mod. Pressing the normal print screen key caused the same issue. Turns out I had enabled the "High performance configuration" of SSE Display Tweaks in passing and never reviewed what that configuration did. Long story short, the flickering occurs when pressing the printscreen key when I was running in borderless-windowed mode. Going back to fullscreen, and no flicker when pressing either printscreen or the printscreen key from this mod (which looks like it just hides the display and then activates the printscreen key). Always review config files, especially when they aren't the default.

Anyway sorry for the noise, but figured I'd add an explanation in case anyone else saw a similar issue and came here.

Thank you for posting your solution!  You never know when someone else will have the same issue and end up googling it :-)

Thank you SO much for posting the solution! I have been looking for a fix for over a week and only found this out now.

In my case, just switching from windowed borderless to fullscreen fixed it, did not have to mess with SSE Display Tweaks.

      Thx again.

Love this mod, was using it in my last playthrough, but it stopped working properly for me.

I figured out what was going on though. Since moving my game from my C: drive to my D: drive, I noticed the screenshots are defaulting to C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\

I resolved the issue by adding the 'Skyrim Special Edition' folder back on to my C: drive and the screenshots are saving there just fine now, but I was wondering if there's a way to change the default save path from C: to D: ?

    I'm on AE 1.6.640

That's an issue with how you configured screenshot location. All this mod does is turn off the UI when you press the hotkey and screenshot. It doesn't change anything about screenshot save location.

      Thanks for the quick reply!

EDIT: Not even sure how to change the directory. Only thing I can find is sScreenShotBaseName in the Skyrim.ini file, but modifying this does not change the output of my screenshots taken in game. I must be missing something, but oh well, at least I know where they're currently saving to. Thanks for the explanation wSkeever.

EDIT 2: IDK why or how, but it's saving to my D: drive now :s

Does this not work with Bandicam? I tried setting the activation button to the same mouse button that Bandicam is triggered by but it doesn't seem to be working.

Thank you for this mod! Does it use an .esp or is an SKSE plugin only? Thank you!

You can tell if a mod has a .esp file if you go the the "Files" tab and click "Preview file contents"

Downloaded this last summer and use it continuously.  Very convenient. The only item on my wish list for this mod is the ability to set the directory to dump the screenshots into. Or can this be set Elsweyr?

BTW: this DOES work nicely with Screenshot Helper.

You can change the default screenshot folder using BETHINi to edit your skyrim ini files, its a must have mod - loads of stuff to set to your preferences. You can also make the font bigger for the console using it!

With this mod, is there a way to keep the console open during a screenshot (with TM) - the reason is TAA blurring during screenshots, such a pain. You can get round it by enabling TM, open console,  and the TAA isnt noticeable in screenies.

I was hoping to remap my screenshot key so it opens console, enables TM, takes screenshot, enables TM 1, closes console. Could this mod, in combination with sth else do the job?

It works with the console opened. Actually, if you use "tm 1", this mod will toggle the menu back on for the screenshot.

there are 3 proper photomode mods in skyrim LE, how can skyrim SE doesnt have one, smh

the best way to use photomode mod like flycam by kingeric in here http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=75209

after installed the file in skse/plugin, just type tfc 1 and youre good to go with tilt feature press q and e, r to reset tilt
other than that, use mouse scroll to change fov, this thing way better than any photomode mod in skyrim SE

you dont need "tm" if you use immersive hud by gopher

You do still need it with Immersive Hud because the stat bars fade in and out independantly of the IHud toggle. This mod makes it so much simpler, thank you!
