ABT AE has been updated to v2.0 that adds support for all the Creation Content (the one related to ammo and ABT that is). This is a major upgrade to the mod as I did a bit of cleaning up and added a couple of new tweaks (the file size increase is because of the new textures included).
The description page was updated, please read it again as I have added new important info and changed some old things as well.
ABT AE v2.0 is meant for users who own the Anniversary Edition DLC (this thing). Moving forward ABT will focus its support on the full AE version of the game. This isn't meant to isolate or leave SE users who haven't bought the DLC behind, but I had to make a choice on which version to support moving forward since I have limited time dedicated to modding these days and it made more sense to me to do a big update for the mod assuming the majority of players already have the DLC (or will at some point get it during a sale when it's usually dirty cheap), it's also the version I am personally using and since I use ABT myself it's the version I want to focus on because that way I can test things myself and fix them.
One of the plugins have changed its name (read the Merchants Ammo section in the description please). This shouldn't really cause any issues because it is a plugin that only edits a few leveled lists (so no scripts, and no custom records), but you should be aware of this because if you are planning on upgrading to v2.0 your save will complain about the old plugin missing, I left instructions on what to do in the description section.
The old ABT SE v1.0 was moved to the Optional Files section, it will remain there as a Legacy version for those using the last version of Skyrim before the Anniversary Edition DLC was released: Skyrim SE v1.5.97.0.
Questions: Before posting a question, make sure it hasn't already been answered either in this comment section or in ABT, the mod has been around for several years now so there's a high probability your issue has already been answered. Read the description completely, and search the comments section before posting. Questions that have already been answered won't be answered again.
Patches: Due to the amount of mods that add new ammo to the game, I can't make patches to cover all of them. I made a couple in the past but it turned out to be a very time-consuming process, and I just don't have the time to do it. ABT SE already includes more than 50 different versions to cover all vanilla arrows and bolts, the rest is up to you. I've uploaded a Tutorial in the Files section which you can use to patch other mods or to tweak ABT SE further to suit your tastes, it's really easy and it will take you 5-10 minutes.
Thanks for understanding, and enjoy your Archery experience. :)
I'm sure you've done a great job here champ, I'm just frustrated looking up a mod to NERF bows, since, ya know, they do more damage than a greatsword because "good game design" making my legendary runs very disappointing when fighting any archer bandit with a Longbow and Steel arrows or better on a rafter hitting me harder than the bandit outlaw with an Iron or Steel Greatsword would.
So yeah I'm just salty I read the name, then read about half of everything only to find out your tweaks actually would just make the problem worse. But good luck in your archery endeavors. Hope you don't get one shot with 400 armor rating and 270 hp by a bandit with some orcish arrows and a hunting bow like I did
patch for immersive weapons arrows are not increaseing damage or speed with all creations installed vinilla arrows work but not with immersive waeapons mod
Skyrim AE 1.6.640 The latest version of the mod. - 2.1
The Crafting recipes weren't showing up. I installed Craftable Crossbows and Bolts - But craftable bolts are 10 / 20 (from the other mod) In short, the crafting changes don't seem to take effect correctly and I don't know why, as no mods are conflicting. (Except Retextures)
(Could it be something on my end? but I don't know how or why. Would there be a way to edit these changes manually? maybe with TES 5 Edit? It states that Dawnguard would craft 10 bolts and this mod (which is on the right of dawnguard.esm and overrides it) crafts 24 instead. Should I replace dawnguard.esm value and make it 24? (It seems like that wouldn't change much though and that it should have been working anyway)
~Installed mid-playthrough. ~Changed my skyrim.ini settings according to the guide. ~Installed recommended preset of settings.
- (Edit) I'm also using Crossbow Integration (Including Creation Club) which is most likely what causing the inconsistencies.
Another mod is probably conflicting with the recipe values. You should open ABT along with the mods you suspect could be having conflicts with them first using TES5Edit and check the crafting recipes values there (worst case scenario you may have to load your entire mod list if you can't identify manually which one may be conflicting, I would start with whatever mod you have that modifies crossbows or bolts).
Once you find the conflicting mod, you can evaluate whether rearranging the load order would be enough to solve the problem (for example moving ABT lower in the load order), or if that isn't possible then you can always manually change the recipe values for the mod that load last to match the values you want. Don't edit dawnguard.esm though, that's a master file, always modify values from the base core files through .esp files.
If like me all you want is the new ammo speeds and bolt meshes, this can still work without the paid DLC, just takes a bit of tweeking in xEdit.
- copy ccQDRSSE001-SurvivalMode.esl twice into your data folder, rename one to ccbgssse002-exoticarrows.esl and one to ccvsvsse003-necroarts.esl. - Place ABT SE - Faster Arrows Improved.esp into your data folder. - Open xEdit and load up ABT SE - Faster Arrows Improved.esp (it should load as it has been tricked into thinking we have these two masters. Now we can use xEdit to remove the dependencies on these two files). - I removed the entries for all the paid DLC arrows. - Right click the ABT SE - Faster Arrows Improved.esp header and click "Clean Masters". - Check the masters ccbgssse002-exoticarrows.esl and one to ccvsvsse003-necroarts.esl have been removed. - Close xEdit and save ABT SE - Faster Arrows Improved.esp. - Remember to delete the fake ccbgssse002-exoticarrows.esl and one to ccvsvsse003-necroarts.esl files you made. - I THINK this works fine to essentially just remove the paid mods from whatever the most up to date version of this mod is. No promises though, I'm a user not an author. - I have tested this by loading up the game, going to coc qasmoke, grabbing every arrow and bolt, and grabbing corkbulb arrow and bolt via the console, then firing each of them into a test dummy. No crashes, no issues. All look to be using the new speed variants.
Hope this helps other current AE users use this mod without having to buy the paid mods. Stop getting shirty with the author by the way, modding is a hobby. If he doesn't want to do it, that's fine, it's his mod. Get creating like I've done above.
Is it possible to use this mod with quiver mods (mods that change the quivers like Elsopa's Quivers Redone SE) or is this mod only touching Arrows and Bolts?
Seems like the old file is really easy to just patch/adapt to a load order without all the paid mods from AE. No reason it shouldn't work, just download and check it in xEdit. Takes a bit of leg work but not that much.
I haven't used that mod so I'm not sure if both are compatible, I would assume.... probably not? If Open World Loot modifies the same leveled lists ABT edits then there will be a conflict. You can still load that one after ABT if it worries you and have that mod changes take over the leveled lists edits though.
I put your mods to load after OWL and made a Wrye Bash Since I want your tweak for my playthrough this time as the bravest stealth archer/ conjurer shoot from afar with arrow or magic MC. After checking in SSEEdit, the result was very weird since OWL follow the the WACCF smithing progression (Dwarven -> Elven -> Orcish) while your tweak follow the vanilla smithing progression (Orcish -> Dwarven -> Elven). Its not compatible but I want to try something first.
It can be made compatible with this mods; Open World Loot - Vanilla Tiers and a little bit of SSEEdit like literally just drag and drop like 5 to 6 times. Thank you for your mods!
In order to include a user friendly and well presented installer I included screenshots for every option you can select, some are for flavor others offer more information so that the user can make an informed decision when selecting what to install. The installer also includes all the textures needed for the arrows and bolts if those tweaks are selected, so that makes the file size larger than previous ABT versions.
