I think these are superb compared to other candle flame mods I've tried.

Unfortunately it doesn't play well with JK interior overhauls (only tested Dragons Reach and Belethor's Goods). From my testing it appears to cause odd shadow casting and light sources to pop on and off.

´cause of the hardcoded limit of shadows in Skyrim this mod causes flickering lights in every single interior i´ve visited. At least, if you have ELFX activated. Maybe it´s working in vanilla.

It seems to work with ELFX and RUD as well as the other standard ENB compatibility stuff - However, I will realise an alternate version that will be much more compatible.

This mod works seamlessly with all of the blenders lighting mods combined and also window shadows by hhaley and dlizzio. There is no flicker in my setup of over 1700 mods. Absolutely zero oh and also with luminosity oh and master tamriel lights. This mod is not obviously playing well with ELFX but then again nothing normally does.

I´m travelling around Tamriel in VR. Maybe the limit is stricter than in SkyrimSE!?

Using with ELFX causes light flickering in certain interiors, something that is made worse if you use any other mods that overhauls interiors and adds further lights (eg. JKs stuff). If you load before ELFX, ELFX will overwrite almost all the edits to the these lights anyway, so the mod is basically having no effect. If you load after, you will get flickering. Not everywhere, but wherever that engine limit is exposed. ELFX doesn't just modify existing lights but adds new ones, so I'm not sure how you could get around that.

If you use ELFX, you probably don't need this. I do like the balance of the color adjustments to candles though. Those can be copied across to ELFX.

Yep... Im joining to Atardecer's comment:
Using with ELFX causes light flickering in certain interiors!
And with JK's interiors + elfx = even worse.

At the beginning looks fine but testing I see that it's not compatible with JK's interiors..

Maybe if you use only Window Shadows as exmpl or RS or even bouth - this mod is a good option because the light looks rly good.

      with SE 1.5.97:
i have no no JK and no ELFX, but get extreme flickering in interiors with relighting skyrim (windows shadows edition).
jorrvaskr quarters for example are terrible, like flicking a light switch repeatedly.
the bannered mare is either unlit or brightly illuminated, just move the mouse a millimeter back and forth and you get both flavors intermittently.

      this doesn't do that.

i'm a big fan of the author's textures, but this disregards the game's limits (see OP by DerPsychonaut), which causes issues.

That's not his job, it's the mod author's job to better display the changes of said mod. Not for us to download and hopefully "nOtIcE" them for ourselves and wasting our own time if there's nothing to show at all.

Look its a time thing tbh if I have to due that I will procrastinate the whole project and it will go to my finish later folder and never be done.
Sorry, it's just something that happens - so if you don't trust me or not like what this mod does don't download it.
I just care more about giving a product than the presentation.

The mod author is giving something free. It's not a job, it's very generous. Start with thank you, and consider your own sense of entitlement to the time and effort of others when you're asking someone who gave you something awesome for free to give you more things.

Actually, that's not entirely correct. Any mod author is putting their work out there to be appreciated by others, which provides satisfaction as a reward, as well as improving one's skills in this field. So you could say, the motivation comes mainly from a selfish standpoint. The audience is, of course, benefiting from that as well. Some might even make a few donations.

Well two seconds to install and place at bottom of load order. Load game and WOW!!!! enhanced candle lights. This diagnosis is based off of all this mod authors candle and lighting mods put together. Is there anything this mod author cannot achieve. Yet again placing this author in my opinion - in the top ten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you yet again Blender for your inspiration.

A good one would be enb lighting. RudyHQ has got some wicked enb lighting setups for daedric weapons, shields and armor. They give off a red glow map. No one has done it for say glass. Imagine the glass giving off a blueish tint glow map. Not been done before. Maybe worth investigating. Also someone did an azure shrine enb light mod which was wicked as it was incorporated into the LOD so the light can be seen across the entire worldspace - Superb.

This would be an insane one - enb glow maps flagged in the meshes .nif files of all windows lol. The windows would not only light up more but then shine light on outside furniture and floors and walls and people walking by. Oh my god that would be ridiculously cool. Just make sure if you do make compatibilty in mind for window mods such as wizkids stained glass windows in whiterun hall of the dead and rustic windows meshes too. You could do different versions as in vanilla and modded setups. Would be super popular. Plus the lod mesh say for high hrothgar. Youd see the light from the windows for miles. Super realistic and immersive. This is a damn good idea methinks lol. The only thing is how do you turn off the effect during the day. And also if it is a success it may work on the windows in internal cells. You dont want that as its been done with window shadows by dlizzio and hhaley with additional brighter glow maps. You want to just do it for the external worldspace and cities outside. Look into it. You could do it i know it.

I am not aware of all the factors and limitations that come in to play regarding ENB particle-lights, but I could imagine that it would need too much particles overall- at minimum the performance impact would be huge. Because there are a lot of windows :D
I think there might be a reason, why Rudy and other authors just use ENB particle-lights to spice up some "highlights" on some objects.
But I am just taking a guess here.

Is it safe to assume that this is an improvement upon your candle flame improver? Does it replace your previous mod?

I wondered the same thing, too--if it's compatible with TB's Candle Flames Improver. Was curious about the differences between both recent candle mods.

This one edits the light emitted not the textures so they do not conflict.

I assume this is compatible with your other mod post processing candle flame? or should i remove that one and replace it with this?

edit: it works very well with it. great Job!

Hm, would appreciate an incompatibilities section in the mod description. That aside, looks interesting, just hesitating to download because it says it casts shadows and such, would like to hear your thoughts on it.

I had no issues with my ENB but I will release a non-shadow edited one at some point
