o) What texture size does the mod use? -- As of v1.13 the default package includes 2k textures.
o) Will you be releasing this to Xbox? -- Yup, take a look in the WIP section. Search for Moonpath to Elsweyr SSE.
o) Will you be providing a version for Oldrim? -- The changes present in this mod will not be available for Oldrim. Legacy of the Dragonborn is the best option for Oldrim players as while not including my changes it does at least fix many of the bugs present in vanilla Moonpaths. Its also an amazing mod in its own right! :o
o) Will you be including fixes modders posted on the Oldrim Nexus? -- Treacleman's typo patch is included and the lighting is fixed in v1.14 which was the only substantial correction made by "Moonpath to Elsweyr - Improved".
o) Will you be include MuppetPuppet's followers? -- No, sorry.
o) Will you provide a version for players with arachnophobia? -- Absolutely, expect the first version on the 30/01/2017.
o) Can I make a donation? -- I do this out of love and respect for the original mod and consider it MuppetPuppet's legacy. I see myself more of a caretaker than author, therefore it would not be proper to accept donations. However, consider supporting the original author by buying one of their fancy t-shirts: https://teespring.com/boofgames#pid=369&cid=6513&sid=front -- Treacleman has also been invaluable in ensuring Moonpath is typo free, so alternatively go and treat yourself to a shiny new fantasy or sci-fi read: http://www.josephrussellauthor.com/
If you can't start the quest because you can't speak to the Khajiit, what you need to do is disable the "Uofficial Moonpath to Elsweyr Patch". Then you can talk to them and start the quest. Once you reach the fist stop on the journey, you can reenable the patch.
It’s impossible not to admit that, for its time, this mod was a genuine technical achievement — especially considering it was made without the Creation Kit. However, its flaws are glaring today: cramped and inconvenient locations, a sparse amount of text, mediocre voice acting, and an overall "narrow" design. Navigating the mod’s world is uncomfortable, and the open-world locations are essentially large rooms with doors between them — even if they do look visually impressive for the time. Another problem is the inconsistent quality of the content: the execution doesn't meet the standards of the base game or modern mods, which significantly disrupts immersion. The general feeling while playing is boredom. The characters are completely underdeveloped, the protagonist has no real motivation, and everything boils down to "go kill some mobs over there because they’re bad," rinse and repeat.
That said, all of this could be forgiven, and one might install the mod out of curiosity to pay respects to the developers — if it offered something truly worthwhile in terms of story. But here, far more serious problems arise.
The main issue for me is the mod’s narrative. Minor spoiler:

You find yourself dragged into a conflict on the side of moon sugar producers — a substance that, in the world of The Elder Scrolls, is a drug and the base ingredient for the even more dangerous skooma. Essentially, your character is facilitating the spread of narcotics across Tamriel, which can cause serious ethical discomfort.
Of course, in games, we often commit immoral acts (stealing, killing, making deals with Daedra), but the problem here is that the mod offers neither meaningful critique of this activity nor an alternative path. Everything is presented as a given, without depth or reflection.
If the issues were limited to just gameplay and design, it might still be worth trying out of curiosity. But the storyline leaves such a bad aftertaste that playing through it feels questionable even for Skyrim fans seeking unique mods.
To be fair moon sugar is similar to opioids in real life in that its not an inherently harmful or dangerous substance and can even be helpful. Its an important part of Khajiit culture and religious practices. Most men & mer don't have the same kind of tolerance to moon sugar as khajiit have but they're not really meant to consume it, especially not on its own.
Skooma is like the Heroin of Moon Sugar, its heavily refined and intensely potent like how Heroin is a potent opioid. Its designed to be addictive even to khajiit (allegedly) by the dunmer to entrap the "beast races" and make them more compliant slaves and it coincidentally spread across Tamriel thanks to its intense addictiveness spreading like wildfire.
Course I haven't actually played Moonpath and the moon sugar producers could be actively doing it as a drug hustle but still it *could* be done with nuance and not be an inherently bad thing, especially if you were helping legitimate moon sugar producers keep their produce out of drug dealers & skooma distilleries.
Interesting and well-done mod, considering how old it is. Cool new monsters and great execution of the tropical landscape. Be warned that you have to fight your way through before you can return to Skyrim, and a couple of the enemies are VERY tough. I suggest not starting this until you are level 25 or so.
yeah a few years ago I stupidly decided to try this at like level 16, I had a full set of upgraded plate armor and upgraded scimitar and blades sword, tons of potions and also knew some spells and sneak (my character was a cross between cleric, knight, samurai and berserkyr) and was a female nord, I got my back passage stretched out so wide you could use it as a basketball hoop... it took me near an hour to make it past the spiders in the jungle...
