Given that the mod hasn't updated in a while your best bet is doing that with xedit, i did remove the new armors on the guards but kept the unique ones because I use sons of Skyrim and removed some towers and flags using the creation kit because they clipped with trees using Drengin's Blue Palace Terrace.
I found the way out: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimSpecialedition/mods/77154. But I used textures from the original, since in Ode to Solitude they turned out to be too bright.
I'm actually using the combo of this mod, Drengin's Blue Palace Terrace and Skyfall Blue Palace Courtyard, load them in that order and overall it works fine, only issue are some mountain flowers clipping with two lion statues in the palace entrance easily fixable in xedit.

Went to Creation Kit, just to check door options were ok, but I have a fatal error when loading Solitude Origin Cell. Those are usually related to a BSA not included in the CK.ini file, but this is not the case since there are no BSAs here...
