About this mod

8k Retexture of the galaxy of Nirn. 4 Versions to choose from (stars are 2k)!
Images below have been downscaled tremendously (from 8k down to 1k) to upload to Nexus, so a lot of quality has been lost in the process (please view in game for the true high quality they really are).

NOTE: "STARS" ARE THE BACKGROUND STARS, NOT THE GALAXY STARS. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE MY STAR TEXTURES, BUT YOU DO LIKE MY GALAXY TEXTURES, THEN DOWN ONLY THE OPTIONAL FILE WITH THE GALAXY YOU PREFER (NOT BOTH). THAT IS IT.

Update (Change Log)
See picture for updated new looks (picture titles explain)

07/22/21  Removed Star.dds file from Optional High Fantasy, No Black Hole High Fantasy, Low Fantasy, and Realistic Vanilla. If you downloaded any optional files and they had my back ground star, just download this new veriosn and overwrite when ask. Or delete the old file and download this new one. Safe to do mid play. ALL FILES HAVE THE CORRECT TEXTURES NOW.

05/25/21 Removed Star.dds file from "NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (Realistic Vanilla)" optional download. If you previously downloaded that optional download and prior to this update, either open the file (file path is: NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (Realistic Vanilla)\textures\Sky) delete the file title Stars.dds or download the new file with the stars removed. Please note, these are the background stars, not the stars in the galaxies.

01/07/21 See sticky comment section regarding Vivid Weathers compatibility and install instructions.

10/31/2020 Main File Version 1.5 High Fantasy Accretion disc blackhole (with star retexture) has had the outer edge of disc faded better and blended where there is no sharp transition, for a more natural look.
Optional File Version 1.1  High Fantasy Accretion disc blackhole (NO star retexture) has had the outer edge of disc faded better and blended where there is no sharp transition, for a more natural look.
Optional File Version 1.3 High Detailed Stars has been fixed where there is no longer a very small seam between star tiles. This seam might not be noticeable to most people, but some ENBs bring it out, so I fixed it. If you have downloaded any prior galaxy retexture with  a star retexture included and you see a very very thin seam across the sky, simply download this optional file and overwrite those prior downloaded files (or just place this optional star file below those prior files in MO2), or simply use someone else stars and overwrite my mod if prefer their stars). If you are to overwrite the stars with someone else's mod, make sure the skygalaxy.dds file is not overwritten are my galaxy/blackhole will not show up in game (just delete the skygalaxy.dds file in the other mod and leave their skystar.dds,  if you prefer another modder's stars)(MESSAGE ME IF YOU NEED BETTER DETAILS ON HOW TO DO THIS).

10/13/2020 Version 1a Accretion Disc Black Hole High-Fantasy Version NO STARS has been added to option files. This same as Version 1.4 Accretion Disc Black Hole but does not include my custom star retexture (only includes the galaxy and black hole).  A few grammar edits as well included in this update.

10/11/2020 Version 1.4 Accretion Disc Black Hole High-Fantasy Version) Version 1.4 Has a better textured black hole with accretion disc, better dust fading, higher opacity.  See old files if you prefer the original WIP version 1

10/11/2020 (Version 1 No Black Hole High Fantasy Released): NO BLACK HOLE Version retexture and star retexture (same High Fantasy Version but with bright center). Also with better star dust fading and opacity.

10/10/2020 (Version 1.2 High Fantasy Only): Star file was causing crashes. Changed star file size and fixed crash. If you downloaded version 1.1 of High Fantasy, delete and download this Version 1.2

10/10/2020 (Version 1.1): Fix dds file name of stars (had an extra "r" by accident). Star file will now work.
See sticky post for details.

What does this mod do:

1. Retextures the Stars and Galaxy with HD textures and high quality detail (Note: some screen shots are with enb (ones with "glow") and some are vanilla.
2. This is part of a series of overhauling all sky textures.
3. Each part of the series will be released in phases (this is the stars and galaxy phase of course).
4. All textures in the overhaul will be in the same mood and atmosphere as these (matching).

Why create this mod:
1. Starting a collection of retextures of all of Skyrim.
2. A possible upscale and rework of popular mods collections in works as well (like Immersive Armor, Bellyache, etc reworked and upscaled to 4k etc)

Files:
1. There are 4 versions of Galaxies
a. High- Fantasy: Very bright blue and red Galaxy with a black at the center (this is a WIP)
b. Mid-Fantasy: Butterfly Galaxy that spreads across the sky.
c. Low-Fantasy: A fine line between real and fantasy is the Milky Way Galaxy in full view and dominating the sky.
d. Realistic and Vanilla friendly: The Milky Way Galaxy in a subtle toned down version that fades in with the sky.
2. Each Galaxy version above has a high quality and detailed retexture of the stars as well.
a. See optional download for files with Galaxies (no stars) only and a optional file for stars only.
NOTE: STARS ARE THE BACK GROUND STARS, NOT THE GALAXY STARS. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE MY STAR TEXTURE BUT YOU DO LIKE MY GALAXY TEXTURES, THEN DOWN ONLY THE OPTIONAL FILE WITH THE GALAXY YOU PREFER (NOT BOTH). THAT IS IT.

How to install:
1. Choose which version you prefer (only choose one at a time, you may choose other versions if you want to try them all out,  just overwrite previous version installed if install a main file over a main file. If installing an optional file over a main file, you will need to completely delete the original main file mod and then install the optional file). It is safe to do this mid play through (try all 4 version will not hurt your save, they are only textures files, but make a back up save to be safe).
2. Read "Files" above for more information or go to the download section and read the file information there for more information regarding versions.
3. Use your preferred mod manager to install the file (I recommend Mod Organizer 2).
4. Or... manually download and install directly into Skyrim Special Edition>Data (I highly recommend Mod Organizer 2).
5. I am making this seem too complicated, they are only texture files, so stick them in MO2 and hit play.

Compatibility:
1. Should be compatible with everything except files that edit the same items (stars and galaxy textures). Let me know how ENB and Weathers mods affect this mod and I will make edits or patches.
2. If you have other mods that edit these items, the lowest in your load order will show up in game.
3. You can install this mod at anytime during play through, it will not hurt your save to install mid play.
4. Users of certain weather mods and enbs may find the stars and galaxy altered in contrast or twinkle, etc, let me know and I will try to make a patch or edited version (it is still compatible, just might be different than I designed it to be with my current weather and enb set up). Same goes for ENB users (you can adjust star settings in your enb, you might need to enable weather menu inside you enb if you have enb help installed to adjust star settings as per weather). If anyone needs further instruction regarding this, post it in the comments so I can try to help or try to make an update that fixes any issues.
