    PLEASE READ

All current files are working and fixed! NO CRASHES GUARANTEED!  Download and game on!

If anyone’s stars or galaxies are too bright, colors off, too dim, etc because of your weather mod/enb just post on here or message me and I’ll make a patch or edited version for you (if possible).

See pictures for updated new looks (titles of pictures explain the different versions along with home page).

    See Change log below.

05/25/21 Removed Star.dds file from "NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (Realistic Vanilla)" optional download. If you previously downloaded that optional download and prior to this update, either open the file (file path is: NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (Realistic Vanilla)\textures\Sky) delete the file title Stars.dds or download the new file with the stars removed. Please note, these are the background stars, not the stars in the galaxies.

1/7/2021 For those of you using Vivid Weather and are finding my stars are too bright:
Vivid Weather alters star files in game, lighting and galaxy files, so this will conflict with my mod. See below for quick fix until I can make a patch (this quick fix is perfectly safe and is okay to do mid play through).
Vivid weather has its own star texture file and galaxy texture file, so make sure my mod is below vivid weather in your load order (whichever texture file is lower in load order will overwrite the other).  Without an enb/enb helper, it is impossible to lower or adjust star brightness (unless vivid weather has a mcm menu option for star brightness (I do not currently use vivid weather to verify if it has a star adjustment setting).
The easiest thing to do if my stars, when using alongside vivid weather, is too bright (Quick Fix):
If you already have a main file of my mod installed, follow these directions (see below if you have not installed my mod yet):
1.Simply delete my mod from you load order. Make sure you completely delete all files of my mod.2.  Download my same mod but use the optional file that does not include stars, its name will be something like this (NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (High-Fantasy) Accretion Disc).  Just make sure it is titled "NO STARS" then rest of file name.3. Place this new downloaded file in your load order below vivid weathers. 4. Make sure the mod is enabled and overwriting vivid weathers.5. Now you will get my galaxy overhaul textures but still use vivid weather stars textures and brightness.

If you have not installed my mod yet:
    1. Download my same mod but use the optional file that does not include stars (not one of the main files), its name will be something like this (NO STARS Texture Overhaul Sky Collection Stars of Nirn (High-Fantasy) Accretion Disc).  Just make sure it is titled "NO STARS" in its name.3. Place this new downloaded file in your load order below vivid weathers. 4. Make sure the mod is enabled and overwriting vivid weathers.5. Now you will get my galaxy overhaul textures but still use vivid weather stars textures and brightness.
Let me know if this works in the comments. If you still have bright stars after doing this, possibly message the Vivid Weather author and ask how to lower the star brightness in their mod using MCM, until I can dive into Vivid Weathers and make a specific patch for the their star brightness (you are more than welcome to make the patch, if you know how, but please message me with patch so I can upload it here only, as an optional file)
    Update (Change Log)

10/31/2020 1.) Main File Version 1.5 High Fantasy Accretion disc blackhole (with star retexture) has had the outer edge of disc faded better and blended where there is no sharp transition, for a more natural look.
2.) Optional File Version 1.1  High Fantasy Accretion disc blackhole (NO star retexture) has had the outer edge of disc faded better and blended where there is no sharp transition, for a more natural look.
3.) Optional File Version 1.3 High Detailed Stars has been fixed where there is no longer a very small seam between star tiles. This seam might not be noticeable to most people, but some ENBs bring it out, so I fixed it. If you have downloaded any prior galaxy retexture with  a star retexture included and you see a very very thin seam across the sky, simply download this optional file and overwrite those prior downloaded files (or just place this optional star file below those prior files in MO2), or simply use someone else stars and overwrite my mod if prefer their stars). If you are to overwrite the stars with someone else's mod, make sure the skygalaxy.dds file is not overwritten are my galaxy/blackhole will not show up in game (just delete the skygalaxy.dds file in the other mod and leave their skystar.dds,  if you prefer another modder's stars)(MESSAGE ME IF YOU NEED BETTER DETAILS ON HOW TO DO THIS).

    10/13/2020
Version 1a Accretion Disc Black Hole High-Fantasy Version NO STARS has been added to option files. This same as Version 1.4 Accretion Disc Black Hole but does not include my custom star retexture (only includes the galaxy and black hole).  A few grammar edits as well included in this update.

10/11/2020 Version 1.4 Accretion Disc Black Hole High-Fantasy Version) Version 1.4 Has a better textured black hole with accretion disc, better dust fading, higher opacity.  See old files if you prefer the original WIP version 1

10/11/2020 (Version 1 No Black Hole High Fantasy Released): NO BLACK HOLE Version retexture and star retexture (same High Fantasy Version but with bright center). Also with better star dust fading and opacity.

10/10/2020 (Version 1.2 High Fantasy Only): Star file was causing crashes. Changed star file size and fixed crash. If you downloaded version 1.1 of High Fantasy, delete and download this Version 1.2

10/10/2020 (Version 1.1): Fix dds file name of stars (had an extra "r" by accident). Star file will now work.
Anyone that downloaded Version 1 (a version 1 with stars), download Version 1.1 and overwrite version 1 with version 1.1 (this does not apply to versions that do not have stars (no need to worry about this if you downloaded a version without stars, this only pertains to the star file)..

If stars are too bright with your ENB or weather mod, post what you are using and I will make a patch or edit version.

I will be releasing a toned down star version soon, with smaller stars.

One of the more underrated night sky mods ever put on Nexus. Too bad it was only uploaded last year, never gained the traction it should have, but that is the benefit of hitting the market early for those other mods, I suppose.

Really love the way vanilla looks but also the accretion disc in HF. Thanks a lot! Mods like this make it worthwhile to scan Nexus every once in a while, even if your main mod list was done years ago, haha.

Thank you so much for the kind words.

It is 8k already. I can see if I can upscale it to 16k, if you would like (not sure how the engine would handle that)?

    Amazing mod!
But I have one query. Could you please make a version that contains the blackhole and the blue and red textures nearby but no galaxy and stars?
Just like a moon hanging in the sky,
    Thank you so much.

I tried this same idea. I tried to take the moon .dds files and make all of them a black hole but I couldn't make it look right. Maybe I could make all the .dds star files all black and the .dds galaxy files all black and change the moon dds. files to black hole, maybe that would work. This potentially would hide the flaws of how the moon works in the game. I will play around with it (but it will be bit before I can get to it).

    Love the mod
I'm trying to use no stars, high fantasy with disc
However one thing really bugging me is the very far side of the disc (left side) looks cut off

Not sure if its been reported yet or if possible for a fix - would love to use it

I’ve noticed it. That is fading opacity error on my behalf. I will fix it this weekend and upload an update. Just download the new update when it comes out and overwrite the previous version.

I didn’t get around to fixing the edge of the black hole this weekend (pregnant wife about due, slows the modding down lol). I’ll do my best to get to it this week.

Finally got around to fixing the outer edge of blackhole. Let me know if you notice any other bugs/modder errors. Should be all good and up running now (see change log for details).

Looks great man ! Thanks for taking the time to do such a detailed mod with care for quality !

One thing. Constructive here... but IMO, you shouldn't be able to see stars through a blackhole. That is if the images are indeed how it will look in game. IMO it kinda throws things off a bit into the "what is this?" category. I get you maybe didn't want total dead blackness there as it would look boring (like a real BH),,, but seeing stars through it is a bit too much (IMPO). How about making the Gravitational lens effect (accretion) you got there kinda also do a faint swirl suck "drain effect" going into the black hole ? Faint, and random looking of course and the very tip of the tail just barely reaches the center. Getting fainter and fainter as its drawn into the center from the outskirts (the event horizon). This would make it so you could remove the stars in the blackhole and keep it still somewhat entertaining looking.

    My 2cents...

Thank you for the compliment and feedback! All constructive criticism is welcomed!

The stars are actually in front of the black hole. Bethesda made the game where the star texture file loads in front of galaxy texture file (this is a game limitation). If I removed the star file (are made a blank one, the black hole would be correct, like the image on the home page). But then there’s no stars at all lol. Making the star texture file load behind the galaxy is beyond my modding abilities at the moment.  Anyone know how to do this would be awesome!!

Ahh, ok I get it. Dang.. Maybe with the idea I was saying you could "overlap" (put in front of stars) the accretion being sucked into the black hole.. So it overlaps the stars just in that area ? IDK ? This way no need to try to put the stars behind anything, instead you put your changes in front of stars in that area of the blackhole ?

Either way at this point this is just nit picking, lol cause its cool. And if I didn't like it one could tell me to just download the version with no blackhole then. haha. But I do like the concept. Like I feel its going somewhere bigger and better than its current at. So IMO good idea here ! You are the first one I seen so far do a blackhole. COOL man ! And great mod

I’ll keep at it and if I come up with a way to get the stars out and more effects to the black hole, I’ll post a new update and message you. Thank you again for the feed back!

I really my wish I could find a way to animate the black hole for a accretion disc spinning effect or something. But alias, that’s for better modders than me lol.

Does this one also have your Moon textures in it ? Or if we want that too we should download your Moon Texture mod too ? If so - which order ? Moon override stars ? or vice versa ?

It does not have the moon textures. You would have to down load that separate if you want the moons. It does not matter which order regarding stars and moon, they won’t interfere with each other.

Make sure you have deleted all past versions of my mod and are running the current updated version (the ones listed at the time of this post are all current and should run just fine).

Also, there is nothing in my mod that is depend on skse. My mod is only textures. You may be having a crash from using an old star file that was the wrong size (see sticky post for details) I had accidentally made. Just delete past versions and re-download my current version.

Just to recap: Delete my mod that you using now. Re-download again. No crash. Play and enjoy.

Are you using any weather mods, enb presets, or reshade??

in my game with enb set up, the environment is so dark I need a torch to see.

Enb, reshade, weather mods, lighting mods all effect this. Tell me what you are using and I will make you patch. See mod description***
