Is there a way to condition this to ignore Alduin? It causes some issues with he Throat of the World fight. Nothing game-breaking, but he doesnt fly away when beaten, he just gets stuck in bleedout position.

Besides that, everything else works like a charm.

I do not believe there is any way to remove Alduin because this mod makes changes to the base game settings. Maybe try the healing hands spell. It should technically work on any NPC including Alduin that is stuck in bleedout.

Glad everything else is working for you.

I want to make it so while in combat, downed followers regain 0 health (unless i heal them) but as soon as Combat ends, they quickly regain health. so would you clarify these settings:

    fEssentialDownCombatHealthRegenMult
speed of HealthRegen for a downed NPC

    fEssentialNPCMinimumHealth (negative value)
lowest health possible for a downed NPC

    fEssentialHealthPercentReGain
    no idea

    fEssentialNonCombatHealRateBonus
does this healrate bonus affect downed NPCs too or does it only work when the player is not in combat?

    fEssentialDeathTime
I assume it is the max time an NPC remains in a downed state

If I am understanding what your wanting to achieve, I would recommend these settings.
      fEssentialDownCombatHealthRegenMult 0.0
      fEssentialNPCMinimumHealth -30 Vanilla "Edited typo"
      fEssentialHealthPercentReGain .30 Vanilla
      fEssentialNonCombatHealRateBonus 5.0 Vanilla
      fEssentialDeathTime 20.0 Vanilla
In theory this should work. Once combat is done all health regen rates should be vanilla and your follower should stand up almost immediately.

I appreciate your constant replies. I will test the new values you suggested, but would you explain to me what "fEssentialDeathTime" actually does?

Hey Mooo, there is nothing to explain. Your assumption is spot on with mine.

Where do you find these settings? I'd like to use Staydown but waiting for followers to heal after fights are over is annoying and sometimes buggy - allies won't get up no matter how long I wait.

Use xEdit or SSEEdit and load this mods esp and you will have access to the settings and can change them to whatever you need.

Suchks, this was breaking the Alduin time-wound cutscene. Disabling it fixed the issue.

Just want to share a little moment, when I used AFT a non-essential follower turned essential(Stenvor or someone like him) got hit by a giant in lower levels and sent flying. And he turned into a blanket for some time even after I escaped the rampaging giant. Just lying there, conversation and stuff are all normal. Pretty fun times.

The problem with NFF while using custom follower mods like Serana SDA and Kaidan is that the mod authors state that you aren't supposed to import custom followers like Serana SDA and Kaidan into the NFF follower framework since it can break stuff. This mod is very valuable for my playthroughs since it works on custom followers that aren't supposed to be imported to NFF. Thank you very much for making this amazing mod.

Do these settings work for normal followers only? What about Inigo, Vilja, Lucien, ...

It works on all NPC's with the "essential" tag. I have Inigo & Lucien in my current game and it works without issue.

So does the deathtime setting mean that they stay down for 120 seconds and then get back up on their own?
Doesn't a healing spell just affect the player and if so, is there some special spell I'll need to get them up faster?
Lastly, will this work with Follower Death and Injury Chance - Followers Can Die?

You need to use healing spells that work on NPCs. I use followers can die and have had no issues.

Thanks. I just read on the description page this mod is unnecessary with Nethers Followers Framework so I guess NFF does what this mod does. I'll have to look into that.

Your post made me curious so I looked for Nethers to see if it actually did this because honestly I can not remember. It looks like the mod author has removed it from Nexus. Maybe its been reuploaded somewhere else I am honestly to lazy to look, but anyhow it got me to thinking that I should update the description page so I did and that snowballed into getting the rest of this mod done. So yeah thanks for lighting that fire to get me moving on this.

Nether's Follower Framework was removed for a time but has been reposted on Nexus.

Well that's just annoying. Found it. And it does have this bleedout function as a option.

Well, maybe you can do it better! There's always room for improvement. Also, people like the ability to customize it to their tastes.

my follower gains all their health back after combat. is this mod supposed to stop that from happening? If so it isn't working for me.

is this the light med or heavy version? I cant get sseedit to even work with Skyrim VR, you need to star the launcher for it to find registry or whatever, VR doesn't have a launcher.

I just want to stop my follower from regaining health, period, no regen at all.

Light version until nexus servers stop being stupid. And this only works while npc's/followers are in a agro state. Once all enemies are dead regen returns to normal.

Do you know of any way to prevent that from happening so that they never regen health?

All the mods I can think of deal with the player only, I vaguely remember a xEdit patcher that had the option but it might have been for enemy npc's only and not for followers. Dose not matter I could not find it.

Typing regen in the search bar brought up a lot of options, maybe one of those has what your looking for.

I do not know what a AFT is, and I can guarantee this mod would not keep followers alive. Look at the second screenshot "both dead".

Aft is amazing follower tweaks... my current followers aren't dieing for some reason when they used to before I had this mod.

Just looked at the main page for AFT & there is an option in that mod to make your followers essential, so they will no longer die... you might have picked that by accident
