"Who in Oblivion do you think you are? You are the last fragment of a long-disbanded order, reduced to hiding as a bar-wench in some backwater town when I found you. You have neither legal nor moral authority, never mind the right to sentence anyone to death without so much as a trial. I've only tolerated your arrogance because we were working toward the goal of saving the world, which ***I*** acomplished while you were lounging in this ruined temple that I fought to put you in.
"And YOU, when I found you, you were cowering in a smelly sewer, hiding from the Thalmor. If I hadn't saved you, right now you'd be begging for the sweet release of death while writhing in their torture-chambers. You don't tell me what to do, old man!
"I am the Dragonborn! I defeated Alduin! I am the one who saved the world! And I say that Paarthanax has redeemed himself, which is more than I can say for either of you!
"Go back to waiting tables in a village bar! Go back to hiding in that sewer! Get out of MY temple! Or draw steel and we'll see what happens!"
"Welcome. I don't believe we've met. I am Elenwen, the Thalmor Ambassador to Skyrim. And you are...?"
"Greetings. I am the Dragonborn. The Blades sent me here, but I'm not interested in being enemies with the Dominion. You tell me what you know about the dragons and I'll lead you to Delphine."
Malborn is immediately hauled away to the dungeon, Elenwen assigns you to capture Esbern, and introduces you to a Thalmor scholar who has read up on everything they've taken from the Blades until now who helps you locate Alduin's Wall. The rest of the game proceeds almost entirely unchanged, besides the possibility of later betraying/being betrayed by the Thalmor depending on how you deal with Season Unending.
There should be a trigger where killing Delphine will automatically start and complete A Blade in the Dark, Diplomatic Immunity, A Cornered Rat, and Alduin's Wall, and the main quest will proceed as normal, with either
a flag to prevent Season Unending from starting (because Blades are present there), you need to finish the Civil War for both sides to proceed. or Season Unending is automatically finished when it started and regardless of Civil War progress you can proceed.
This didn't work and neither did the console code for setessential X X. I am guessing I have another mod conflicting, but placing this at the end of my load order didn't help. The only way I was able to get rid of this clown was inputting the following into the Skyrim.ini

Just be sure to turn it back off after you explode her. I use it after the "we know about Paarthurnax" conversation. She blew up in only three thunderbolts rofl.
>Be Delphine >Steals horn of Jurgen Windcaller >Acts offended when confronted, Insulting the saviour of the world >"We serve the Dragonborn" >Expects your help to find her sugar daddy >Gets help again to restore her organisation of losers >Tells you to f*#@ off until you kill the only other reason why the world isn't destroyed >Oath to the Dragonborn completely forgotten >Manipulated and took advantage of DB to restore the Blades >Forgets DB has this mod installed >Dies
Esbern and Delphine lived and died like bitches. I can't believe Bethesda forces you to kill Paarthurnax or just not complete the quest. You should totally have had the option to kill Delphine and Esbern for betraying their oath to you and forcing you to backstab one of the heroes of Skyrim. Thank you for this mod.
late asf ik but that's exactly what i thought when i first played the game, once i got skyrim on pc i IMMEDIATELY started to search for ANY mod tohat could change this, luckily, there are, my favorite one being Dovahsil so far where you can literally say f*#@ them and keep og Paarthurnax alive or go even further and side with Alduin
