Hey, thanks for the awesome mod! Quick question: Is this compataible with R.A.S.S https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22780 I believe this mod also allows for cold breath as well. Do I need to toggle that feature off and allow this mod to control that? Or are they just compatible?
I'd recommend using one or the other, you can disable the breath effect in R.A.S.S. These ones seem to work pretty well, and imo look better than R.A.S.S's ones.
Are the new clothes supposed to be worn everywhere or just in cold areas? Because I see people with fur hoods everywhere including, say, Falkreath. I have Cathedral Weather + the patch you advised and CRB loads after both.
Check do you have any mod that have added any snowing weather(or fake snow weather which set it type as snowing) to those warm regions, that will cause those regions misidentify as cold region. This is the only reason.
If anyone is interested, since the author does not answer. To hide this from active effects, in SSEEdit you need to find in "magic effects" "CRB_PlayerWeatherChangingtME" and under "magic effects data", inside "flags (sorted)" put "hide in ui" flag.
Not working on the latest version of Steam Skyrim with the version indepednat.dll. update. I get the .dll not loading message and all options are greyed out in the MCM.
I have the same issue, despite the description saying that the Independence DLL Plugin supports Skyrim SE 1.5.39 and newer. If it is indeed incompatible with AE that's unfortunate as this seemed a great replacement for Wet and Cold's effects. (And I guess that as this mod hasn't had an update/bugfix in over three years, there's no point in hoping!)
Just a heads up but Skyrim AE is Skyrim SE. I know it's confusing but the AE stuff is an update to Skyrim Special Edition and not its own thing. It's best to use the number version to represent SE or AE. I get what you are trying to say though. It's compatible with version 1.5.39 all the way through but not post 1.6.xx.
@ Rhypon: I was thinking to replace Wet and Cold too.
The mod will have NPC automatically unequip their winter gear once they get to someplace warmer, correct? Doesn't seem to do so on my followers (for reference, using EFF, RDO). I'm using this mod instead of Wet and Cold since W&C's unequip function is broken and NPCs were spotted still using their gear inside taverns...
Does this mod unequip hoods from NPCs when indoors? Wet and Cold is great but it's kind of immersion-breaking seeing NPCs (especially children for some reason) wearing a hood along with just their normal clothes without any extra cold gear indoors.
Here is from the mod author profile: Translation: He doesn't want to be Bethesda's slave, and hence, won't shoulder any responsability of updating all his SKSE based mods anytime Bethesda feels like selling some more DLCs (CCs). Because yeah, their updates are not about fixing well known bugs, it is about making room for more CCs. So, he won't ever make any 1.6.x + version for any of his mods. But he allows you to do it yourself. So, either port it yourself, since he opened all rights for that purpose, or downgrade to 1.5.97, or alternatively, forget about this mod and all those that share this kind of policy. These are the only 3 options. I would definitely be like that if i were a modder, too.
well, if Bethesda hadn't made the base game, we wouldn't be here in the first place you win some, you lose some. Updates break mods for almost every game anyways.
Little confused, I'm seeing people post about AE and sounds like it's not compatible. But there is the dll independant download. It says newer versions. Is this ae compatible or is it not?
I have yet to get it to work on my load list. I have the "independence dll", but it still doesn't load. I've tried loading it without the main mod, I've tried merging them together, I've tried loading the new dll after the main mod.
I'd love some input on what I may be doing wrong. Or, it may simply be broken for the newest AE version.
Cool concept and I think you are on the right track with your approach. I full endorse what you are trying to accomplish with this and admire your genuine interest in the new game problem. My game is heavily proto-modded, it's in a half-state cleaned/sorted/eslified about 200 added like 30 late/dirty/unsorted none merged. So I am posting this as is, on two levels.
Something with racemenu, all the compatibility patches, would smash my game right at the point the character is accepted. Delicate manipulation of masters seems to have resolved that. Part two of this is to say having resolved most other issues running my demi-installation is surprisingly stable... Until I kept getting CTDs and stopped them by disabling this mod in my LO. So the first part is to say it could be related. The second part to indicate there is an issue in there somewhere.
As my mod usage experience is coming over from fallout4, I have not played the full storyline of Skyrim yet, but at some point not far off I will further clean, sort, merge my mods and look into this further. At one point a box came up but I hit my desktop at the same time, maybe when I sift through a few things it will prove to be related. In the meantime, keep up the good fight! Part of the problem could be by compatibility patches compounding issues. In the end, yours is the correct way to do this function. Look at EVG Conditional Idles as well (its in my LO). Best of outcomes are hoped for you and all of this.

I believe I already present that clearly in the mod page.
If there are any mods that have the similar features in the future, do the same.
Same with breath. I see breaths even when it's not cold outside.

To compile scripts download the Papyrus Compiler App and read the docs at https://pca.kiyozz.com/.
The mod only seems to use one function from the DLL that can be rewritten as Papyrus; so the DLL is largely unnecessary.
(There is a second function CreateFormListPatch that I only stubbed out, but I have yet to notice any lack of functionality.)

So you can implement it with papyrus.
I did it, it works on AE.
