Well, sort of No. better way for me to answer this is if it were a two part question...
1. Am I willing to update the mod? - not currently. I'm not setup to mod at the moment and have been out of modding for most of this year.
2. Is it possible to move stakes to center of palms? - sort of technically it is but with different reasons. the hands are attached to a dummy node object that is placed near the stakes that are fixed. the hands of the npc model are not always going to attach and remain in a perfect position. so getting the combination of npc hand node and placed dummy node and the fixed stake to all line up every time is just not possible to be perfect.
If I do ever get around to updating this mod - then yes, I will try to find a better placement for the stakes and or the dummy nodes and or the offsets with hand nodes - so that they more closely come through the palms more often.
When I first saw that werewolf hanging from one arm I thought maybe the Silver Hand had done it intentionally. Have all the beast's weight being supported by one arm so it would hurt more than if it was shared between two. Didn't know it was supposed to be dangling from both all along
I thought similar at first but then I'm thinking "Are the Silver Hand that dumb to leave a hand free?" He's not going anywhere, but how are you going to get in there to torture him if he's able to swipe at and grab you.

I actually thought that exact thing looking at your fix. This dude is a werewolf in form, his legs and feet are almost as dangerous as his arms and hands.
Yeah, I imagine there was someone that wanted to figure it out and do it right. But, then production deadlines and "Eh, this is good enough." happened.
