Just like all of the others in the "Quaint" series, this is a fantastic home. Just a note for anyone also using Northern Towns (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12915): make sure that Quaint Lodge loads BEFORE Northern Town (plugin-wise). Otherwise you will get a missing chunk of mountain/landscape behind the camp right outside of town. I actually love these two together though as it feels like you aren't quite as alone if you do choose Quaint Lodge as your main player home; it's just a short walk into town.
Two things I deeply love... Small Cozy player homes. Cold Ice bound player homes.
This home seems to have it all and im looking forward to the chance to download it! One thing I notice in the pictures are that the interiors look, well, a bit dark and dreary. Naturally will se how they look when I download it, But again, Its nice to see someone making cozy homes.
[EDIT]?Ok, so downloaded, LOVE it, turning the brightness up all the way helps, though it could use a few more lights. Seriously love all the Storage! Like even in huge mansions I find few storage and often very spread out. Its SO nice to have so many storage items in a small place. One thing I realize is missing, and its not super important. But a bathroom added on might be nice lol. (funny enough I notice a lot of houses seem to be missing a bathroom, I guess people don't often think about needing to poo or take a bath in a video game lol )
Oh you have noooooo idea how many lighting iterations this went through/how much I tested about flickering, it’s a pain in the arse so I stopped after a while lol.
I can’t remember if there’s a bucket under bed or not, I’ve taken to adding those under my main bed if there’s no bathroom. Yeah I hadn’t thought of it before; but then there was no room and I didn’t want to do any huge edits to add more. I do have bathrooms in a few others though.
I do indeed liek it! and thanks for the reply! :3 Lol I can imagine :3 it must be verrrrry hard trying to balance "realistic rustic mood lightning" against "ILLUMINATE ALL THE THINGS!"
I will also admit I can understand it being hard / annoying for many to add a dedicated "bathroom" to a house. In terms of both "lore friendly" as well as "not doing a lot of extra work. Adding a simply (if perhaps warmed by stove) outhouse is a good solution since you can plunk one outside :3
your mod is good but please for the love of physics add your support beams. your wood chopping area needs the other side of the shack beams. the smithing area needs some wood beams for center supports. i suggest using shipwoodbeamstraight or whwoodlogverticalthin or horizontal pieces
It's kind of for/by design, sorry. I wanted it that way, half-finished snowy shack; I did try a few different beams and some in the middle of the smithing but I didn't like them/that look at all so I removed them, and tried a few variations of whole shack and partially build shack but I liked the way it looks currently best.
I'm not sure why so many nexus people are obsessed with realism in a fantasy game lol. If something looks nice to the modder, it's silly to tell them to change or add to it just "because physics." It's not a real place, it has magic and monsters, therefore normal rules don't matter.
If normal rules didn't matter, I wouldn't get splattered on the ground if I jump from too high up. Clearly, at least gravity is working as intended...
I'd be more worried about the smelter being way too close to wood, personally. As Helgen proved, wood burns just fine, and that's a fire hazard waiting to happen.
This is another little gem of a home. I stumbled across it having been chased by a couple of bit cats, tired, hungry, wounded... I was very relieved to find it! It's surprisingly spacious and has everything I could wish for. I loved the (sad) little back story. I do like to know why homes are suddenly vacant. The views are spectacular! It is one of the most stunning places to have a home. I really like this little lodge! Thank you!
Nice outback home, was looking for something like this, only thing i wasnt too keen on was the coffin and mini cage downstairs but thats just me. Will be using this on my next playthrough as a outcast.
Thank you! Yeah I wanted a little space for a vampire follower. The cage... the cage with the rug, and and vegetables and waterbowl were supposed to be for a pet rabbit or something but I just couldn't figure it out. >..< I left it there to give a bit more 'character' , and in case I can ever figure out 'pets' stuff. Oh, and also in case any players have some kind of tiny pet and can tell it to 'stay' in the house; that would be its figurative sleeping area.
Thank you. ^-^ To help make it easy on myself naming-wise and because I don't plan on ever doing very 'large' house mods, I just decided that all of them will start with 'Quaint'.
