How do I find the book or what is the console command to get it? I want to test it but have no clue where to get it.
Edit: NVM got it. Testing it now, got a crash, and will be testing what caused it.
A question I do have is, how many arrows does one vial of poison do? Can that be changed in some way? I think I added 20 arrows and 1 vial, and it converted all the arrows.
Update: So I figured out that one does of a poison converts 20 arrows. I was not able to replicate the crash.
Issues I ran in with:
1. The arrows got seemingly converted, but do not actually have the poison affect applied to them (at least when shooting at enemies they don't have any "poison effect" other than what the arrow would normally do.
2. When Equipping arrows and exiting out of the gear menu, it just brings up the gear menu up again, after which you exit a second time and then its fine.
3. I don't run out of the newly created arrows. Once I have 20 in the inventory, it always says I still have 20, even when I used up over 20.
I wonder if all these issues are caused by the required mod "inventory functions"? Does that mod have to match up EXACTLY to my game version and my SKSE version? If so, you would need way too many combinations for it to work.
My Skyrim version is 1.5.97 and my SKSE version is 2.0.2
Playing a poison stealth playthrough, and realized how annoying it is to use poisons... tried the "poison arrows and bolts" mod, but it literally did nothing for me and I couldn't find out why it didn't work. Will be trying this mod, as it is extremely annoying with the vanilla method.
I installed the mod, made myself some poisons, made myself some arrows, made them into "Poison Arrows" but the effects of the poison don't seem to be taking effect at all, I've tried different types of poisoned arrows, like some that were made from a lingering poison for health, direct damage poison to health, and even magicka versions, nothing seems to be working
Very strange. Check in the inventory whether your bow is poisoned. If it isnt, unequip your arrows, quit inventory after a second, then unequip your bow and quit inventory after a second. Then try again. First equip bow and the poisoned arrows.
Is the player character supposed to be immune to the blindness effects from the smoke grenades? My screen goes black. If it's supposed to do that if my character is in the vicinity, is there a way to make my character immune to it without using the toxin doctor outfit?
Trying out the mod. Mostly excited for the grenades. How do we get the ASO Combat Alchemy book? Is it meant to be found out in the world or is there a command I missed?
hey, so I don't know were to put this but I would like to know more on how this mod function. I know, confusing, I have a mod called "Throwing Weapons Lite SE", inside it has throwing knife's witch are read as a weapon type bolts. it was fun to play with but the low damage was impractical in action. so I tried to use this mod to apply poisons to it but when I went to make the bolts it took away the throwing functionality and gave me normal crossbow bolts. I what to know if its possible to add the poisons to the bolts themselves with out adding custom new bolts to the game. is it something or somethings I can change in the mods files by any chance.
The Skyrim engine only allows to poison bows/crossbows. In order to bypass this I had to trick the engine. I have created many custom bolts/arrows. Each time you poison any bolt or arrow via my lesser power I remove that arrow/bolt and give you my custom one. Once you equip it I poison equipped bow/crossbow with appropriate weapon. I never meant it to work with Throwing Weapons Lite SE.
I use AIM to get the book After reading, there are trap spells learned All recipes and spells are crafting/working fine except for cocktails has no recipe (Cocktails obtained from AIM can also be thrown normally)
I play a wilderness alchemist sneak archer (never use magic, only use equipment I've made) and this mod is the answer to my dreams - enabling me to use poisoned arrows in combination to create different affects/stacks on targets. I've looked for a mod like this for years. It's people like you that make Skyrim so endlessly playable - so thank you for the gifts you give freely to the community. Endorsed without hesitation.
One glitch though - I have the same issue as darkflyerx (i.e. my bow gets un-favourited when I used your poisoned arrows.) darkflyerx - thanks for your fix (equip un-poisoned arrow before switching, works for me.) I will definitely continue to use the mod with the un-poisoned arrow fix as it opens up a whole new avenue of gameplay for me (but I also need my bow to be favourited so I can immersively/quickly switch to a hand weapon using its shortcut number when I get jumped.)
Does no one else have the issue of bow being un-favourited? (I'm trying to figure out if it's a general issue or one related to mine and darkflyerx load orders.)
Update: I think I will be able to improve the mod. The downside is, the new script may not handle perfectly a situation when you have multiple the same bows/crossbows in your inventor that you are unequipping.
Do you think you can update the mod so that if the bow is unique (in terms of player inventory) it remains favourited when changing arrows? How bad is the glitch if player has multiple bows of the same type? I for one would definitely rather have the situation where I can't have multiple copies of same bow but can swap poisoned arrows without bow becoming unfavourited ...
All right! I think I have the new scripts working. At least more or less. Below are the limitations: a) If possible try not to equip/unequip bows/crossbows/ammo like crazy b) If possible try to avoid situation when you unequip bow/crossbow when you have multiple bows/crossbows of that type in your inventory c) If possible try to avoid situation when you equip bow/crossbow and then equip another bow/crossbow. Try first to unequip bow/crossbow or equip some other weapon/spell and then equip another bow/crossbow d) You should not equip bow when you have equipped crossbow or vice versa. Try first to unequip bow/crossbow or equip some other weapon/spell and then equip another bow/crossbow e) the poisoned arrows/bolts have the same stats as the bolts/arrows prior to poisoning. However I was unable to change the visuals of poison arrows/bolts to reflect the visuals of arrows/bolts prior to poisoning. In other words all the poisoned bolts/arrows look the same no matter what kind of bolts/arrows have been poisoned.
To summ it up. It works and the favorited status of bows/crossbows is preserved when you unequip them. :)

The play style I'd like to adopt using your mod would revolve around using differently poisoned arrows in my longbow; so for me I'd only be using one bow (I try to role a wilderness hunter and like to travel light.)
Also, I would actually prefer that the visuals of all the arrows are the same (and the fact that the name of the poisoned arrow appears in my HUD when I equip it is the best of both worlds for me.)
If you do update your mod with these changes I will download it and give it a go - so long as I can flip from one type of poisoned arrow to another (not crazily) I have absolutely no doubt this will be a permanent in my load order. If I could endorse it again I would.
