Hey everyone - I've added a long list under the Description tab of all of my mods. It contains a full list of links showing exactly where I downloaded each and every texture from for each of my mods. Please feel fee to cross examine them against the files in my mod packages so you can see the origin of each texture. I'll be cataloging every asset I use in the same manner for all future mods as well. You can always find them in the Description tab (including this one).
Honestly....... all this GOLD and WHITE and NOTHING else, it's damn ugly. I will still get it because it propably hopefully looks better than vanilla but still this is ugly AF. This is supposed to be an ancient place not a super polished golden what ever the F.
The only part I like in this retexture mod is the door texture, the floor texture and the gold texture but the wall textures could have been better or used Arri's Snow Elf Ruins wall textures instead so I am forced to choose Arri's Snow Elf Ruins.
As a user of this mod wich retex the College of Winterhold, snow-elf style, I would like to see your work put on this. I reallyu like your interpretation of Snow elves architecture. Du you plan to do this ?
Good work ! But some textures are too bright under the sun, especially "seruinsfloor01" and maybe "icewall01". For information, I don't use any ENB.
Also, the dust of the texture "seruinsrubble01" seems to have disappeared. Below, a picture with another "seruinsrubble01" file texture. It makes the whole thing older. :)
Thank you. :) I don't really know, a little bit of laziness. And I favor the mods which modify only the textures and the meshes to avoid the problems of stability. ;)
Thanks so much. I really love your mods. But I have such problem: some textures of white stone on floor of this mod and Sovnagarde are too bright. I don't have ENB and any mods on light. It would be nice to solve this, I want to use your fabulous textures for these places.
I'm posting this on CleverCharff's behalf as he wanted to at least let you guys know what's going on.
And I quote:
"Wanted everyone to know I’ve appealed the ban and take full responsibility and apologize to the authors. I used 4 assets I thought were upscaled vanillas and had no idea they weren’t...I should have examined them more closely. Anywhere else I used unique textures I always have gotten permission and can be seen in my credits. These 4 are just a big misunderstanding I don’t want anyone to think that I go around stealing assets and that this is more ignorance on my part than anything else. After all I’m still very new to modding. Hope to be back soon and thanks for your support thus far!"
So in other words we just wait for the process people.
Hm..what doesn't make sense? His mods are only textures you know that's a quick turn around specially with the quarantine I don't know if you knew some of us over here in US are at home 24/7 we can't go to work so we have all the time in the world... what wouldn't make sense is that he being in his house locked up 24/7 would only had made like 10 if he was lazy. but then again still don't see or understand why it has to make sense. makes perfect sense to me!
What doesn't make sense to me is why cast the shadow of doubt? now that right there makes no sense to me. specially coming from a vet like yourself.
most of the veteran texture authors spend months on making textures, especially for city or landscape overhaul textures. and that explains why there are not many city/landscape overhaul texture mods compared to say...single clutter textures that have posted by various authors here in Nexus. You can actually ask them how long it will take normally to release such mods.
of course this covid-19 situation is exceptional, and I've read that CleverCharff didn't make textures from scratch and instead combine different sources of textures and do his magic. but still, it's an unusual pace to keep releasing such mods. I'm sure some of us would agree with my opinion.
Well if this person did steal someone esles work . then he got what was coming to him for beening banned ! All this person had to do is ask for permission to use others work in his or her mods ! It's not that hard to ask for permission!
I love mod makers for what they do and bring to the table, it takes a lot of work, creativity an patience to make some of the better mods. But there is an other side to this all.. a somewhat petty side: honestly if people where not so busy with recognition and making money of mods.. If people would actually give each other full creative freedom, then there would be many more great mods and variations / modules and improvements to the already existing mods. But then some of the people who do this for a living would stop modding (as much.. since they would have to work some boring job to make a living instead for the majority of their time and I don't want to see those people go even though you should do it for free technically.. some people just need food and can't do mind numbing work every day). Also you could just modify something and claim it as your own without giving credit or permission if there was full freedom :( So I get it (maybe), I get why some things have to be protected but I also detest it at the same time, is there no better way to do this? This system seems flawed but working to an extent.. but why is everything always about money and status instead of about just having fun and dreaming together..? Maybe there should be a safe period where no one can use your assets without permission but I do not think this period should be longer then a few months. Should the mods have the highest priority or the people who make them? I'm not sure if I should even post this since I'm not sure about the answers to these questions myself (and the backlash) but you know... let's go. What do other people think?
This sort of thing is why I wish more people subscribed to the Cathedral mindset. These texture sets are absolutely beautiful. Even if they are conglomerations of bits and pieces from other mods, my jaw dropped at how well this is put together.
Far out guys, mistakes happen. Maybe what he said is true - he used 4 textures which belonged to someone else and he didn't realize. Of course stealing assets is a problem but maybe in his case it was just an honest mistake. I don't see why we wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt?
Also, about pace of release, people work in different ways. Sometimes, at my job, I work on 3 projects for months, then release them all at once. It's just how my brain works, I'm bored working on only one thing at a time. It's just not evidence of wrongdoing. I think we need to cut modders some slack, they're just people too and sometimes they make mistakes.
Although this is a beautiful work. The portal sometimes aren't showing. I don't have any other mods that retextures Forgotten Vale. And also, when I went inside the inner sanctum it was too bright. I don't have any lighting mods installed. Just ENB. Uninstalling now. Really really bright.
Update: tested this mod without enb. It becomes too bright even when you're outside. Uninstalling this mod fixed the issue for me.
I really like these textures, if a smart mod person reads this could they point me in the direction of how to get these to overwrite the chantry CoW's texture's?
I tried that, it didn't work. I think CoW layed it's own textures and didn't use vanilla pathways and so as far as i can tell i'm going to have to manually replace them, which i'm trying to learn. I've seen this with a few things, like modded homes and buildings having different dragons tongue than the rest of the worldspace, or static soul gems not reflecting the multiparalax mod i use and load order tweaking had no effect. some of these things have been easy for me to patch, some of them I'm still trying to learn.

I know how to do this stuff. This is not "nothing."
