OK After a rough start I think I got the right things uploaded. Previous failures were caused by - uploading the wrong file (twice), attempting to clean the mod with TES5Edit and losing half the mod that way, and me not knowing that the SSE CK wants to create a separate BSA file for textures. Don't mod at 3am, kids.
Ok well This mod works sort of. I placed items in the store inventory and waited 24 hours in game. The safe had money in it but the items are still in the chest. Is this the way its suppose to be? No items were sold .
Dang, shame this hasn't been updated in three years. It looked like it had a lot of potential. Get it some foot traffic and make it an inn and it would have been just absolutely amazing. Especially since it's within a short walking distance from Goldenhills Plantation, my main and favorite player home. That adds tons of roleplay value. It's like I'm the farmer coming to the store to unload my goods for sale.
Mod still works just fine for me, but I'm also still using 1.6.353 (because screw official "updates" that don't really do anything).
I only wish this mod could be applied to the Tundra Homestead CC kinda like how the mod author originally did with Breezehome. Better location and a MUCH better looking house. Foot traffic, and also a hirable guard to patrol outside, would be nice. My modding skills aren't quite up to that task, but this mod is too nice to let go. If it truly is abandoned, I'll eventually learn how to tweak it to my own liking.
If anyone's wondering if they could use any NPC that's not a standard follower as a shop-keeper, It might not work. I'm using NFF, and recruited Agnis (the old lady at Fort Greymoor, cause she needs another purpose besides just cleaning that damn fort + she's near) and led her inside the tavern and the option didn't came up. I tried using the console to make her a follower, and it still won't work, at least for me.
If anyone figures out how to make this work with regular citizen npcs, please do reply on this comment.
Sooo following up on this: turns out it just might be Agnis, cause this worked on a random Alikr Warrior (specifically one of the two that ended up being stuck in Whiterun even though ive already finished Saadia's quest loooong ago) oh well
I was able to get it to work while running Sidequests of Skyrim. I decided to try it out on a beggar in Whiterun. completed a couple quest for her and once she was a follower, i brought her to the inn and now she has a Job and a home.
It's not the method of making a follower that matters, it depends on the voice package. Only certain characters with certain lines can run the shop.
I use AFT for non-standard companions and I wanted to hire Fianna (the maid in Dragonsreach that bosses you around to not dirty up her floors. I'd be cranky too if I had to clean up after Balgruuf's spoiled-ass children all day. Thought I'd give her some peace and quiet). It wouldn't work with her but then I tested it on Muiri (who is also not a standard companion) and it does work for her. I also made Muiri my Lakeview steward like this. Something you normally can't do because she's not a vanilla follower, but she does have one of the right voice packages to be a steward. So if you can somehow make her a follower, the line will automatically show up.
I don't know this FOR SURE because I haven't tested every voice type, but I have a feeling anyone you can appoint to run your Goldenhills Plantation can also run this shop.
My shop keeper is only selling a few items and nothing from anything that isn't food or miscellaneous. I have weapons and armor and potions but he is not selling them.
