January 2nd 2022: About to release an update that makes Falkreath, Morthal, Dawnstar and Winterhold guards use only one of the swords added by guards armor replacer (I picked the one that fit their armor the most) and no more axes. This change was made to fit the fact that guards in major cities use only one kind of weapon (Whiterun sword, Markarth sword, Riften sword, etc.) Patch 1.4 won't change anything else. It's mostly a personnal update for myself but if other people want it, it'll be in the files.

March 2024: I'm not back in the modding scene yet, but I will be taking a look at the reported issues in the next few weeks.

What do you mean by this? "type in the command resetinventory or resurrect if necessary." Do you mean I have to reset the inventory for each and every guard in said city? I tried that but didn't work, so either I installed it wrong or it doesn't work mid play through I guess.

If you use the mod on an existing save, it'll conflict with the already loaded guards, so you'll need to reset their inventory to allow their new loadout to be applied. This is something you would have to do with the mod even without my patch being installed.

By lose their gear do you mean say for example whiterun guards gear gets replaced with the solitude gear?

You are close to what I meant. Guards from Imperial holds got their gear replaced for Stormcloak gear after the war if you sided with the Stormcloaks, and the same would happen to Stormcloak holds in the case of siding with the Imperials.

Eh, working in all settlements excluding Riften city itself. Not certain what to do to fix this?

Do you use any mod that directly changes NPCs and guards in Riften, or guards and soldiers gear in general? This could be a conflict issue.

How did you guys managed to make it work??? I've tried every combinations with this patch and the base mod and as soon as I have one file from this patch the game CTD straight away, can't even reach the main menue.

To be fair I found the base mod extremly complicate to install as well, very little info or proper installation guide about it. I really like the idea of these mods but it all seem to be a broken mess...

I would need more details as to how this happened. I have reinstalled every mod on new PCs without any issues and complications. Do you use a mod manager? Did you set the priorities once you were prompted to? Did you download any mod that would conflict with Guards Armor Replacer and my patch?

The description says that this mod also allow us to destroy the Imperial or Stormcloaks camps, anyone knows if it can cause a conflict with "Civil War Aftermath"?

where do you see that? this is just a patch to make the gaurds keep their armor after the civil war is over it shouldn't conflict with anything really

My mod doing this was a mistaken belief on my part, hence the reason why I removed this part from the description later on.

Is there something like this for the Sons of Skyrim mod?

I would have to use the Sons of Skyrim mod to make it happen. I'll consider it.

Edit: I looked it up, I could definitely make it happen, but if I have to put in the same amount of work than I did with Guards Armor Replacer, then it means it'll take me about 80 hours of work and playtesting. It won't happen now, but I'll really consider it. Love the armor sets in this one.

I like to report with the minimal armor version needs to be fixed, I think.

It seems to be replacing the stormcloak armor from the vanilla with the armor replacer's version.

I was able to fix it by deleting the rebel armor, stormcloak officer armor, and references in the armor and armor add-on section. As well as the modified the armor set in the outfit to revert back to vanila.

I'm not back in the modding scene yet, but I'll look it up in the next few weeks.

In the meanwhile, I have a question since you're the only one who mentionned this: Did you download the minimal version of Guards Armor Replacer? This is the one you have to use my minimal patch on.

honestly i think it makes sense they lose their gear (other than whiterun with imperial) as the guards are replaced with soldiers from the respective faction (again except for whiterun when joining the imperials) but i can see why this annoys some people
