yes. Animations works, doesn't matter. Only skse plugins need a compatibility.

Thank you for this great dirty fix. I understand that this a per person fix, so we gotta do this on our own, guided by your... well, guide. After reading the description i checked my idle files and got a question about that.
I installed Smooth Combat-Non Combat Animation (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/52145) mod and it has a s#*! ton of idle.hkx files.

So should i make turnleft60.hkx and turnright60.hkx for each one of them? And would making this inside the original folder cause any trouble ?

Thanks, I only downloaded the mod to endorse it! In the end, I didn't need the mod because your guide in the description was fantastic, and I ended up creating a CustomDirtyAnimationFix using my own favorite idle files! Thanks so much for taking the time to put all of that into a guide and openly sharing! I honestly couldn't play in first person before the fix without getting nauseous.

Nice "mod" ? :D My only problem is, i cant get magic to work for me... My Magic Animation mods dont have a dualmagic_idle.hkx, they just have mlh_idle.hkx and mrh_idle.hkx
And my other question is: How are the dagger animations named?

So glad I found this. I'm tempted to replace every turn animation with an idle. The vanilla turns are so hideous that I'd rather be skating.

The instructions are clear, but actually confused me on whether I was supposed to install the mod at all, or if it was just instructions on how to do this myself. But if using vanilla animations, it works out of the box, aside from having to point MO2 to the actual Data folder inside the mod.

Genius quick and dirty solution to the problem, most heartily endorsed sir!  This has been driving me mad on and off every time I play Skyrim, and it's often the exasperating cause of me getting annoyed with the game and stopping playing it.  Those jitters just look so bloody amateurish, they pull one out of whatever nice immersive feeling one has been building up every time one sees them, and one eventually feels like a chump playing the game.

Initially I thought the mod didn't work (I thought it was incompatible with the Nemesis/PCEA shenanigans I've got going on atm).  But then I bloody-mindedly went through the process outlined in SSolutions section with the idles I've been using in-game up till now, and the "mod" here installed and used as a guide in MO2.  And it works!  The problem wasn't with either this mod or Nemesis, it's just that you have to actually make up the mod yourself as outlined, and use the standing idles you're actually using in the game for the basis of the process. If you don't do that, then you'll be still be switching animations (this time from whatever standing idle you're using, to the "dummy" 60 turn ones based off the vanilla standing idle, which will be slightly different from your snazzy standing idle, hence you'll still get the jitters (maybe even worse if your chosen snazzy standing idle is very different from the vanilla) and think the mod isn't working :)

PSA: If you're in MO2, the Data folder shows you the virtual folder that the game "sees" and you can hover over each item to see which mod it comes from, so you can instantly see what's overriding what - very handy! :) It means that if you can see which standing idles the game is actually using, and where they come from, so you can find them and use them as the basis for your own mod.

Of course there must be a proper solution to this problem that the game devs could implement.  It's absolutely incredible that this amatuerish look has been in the game for this long and it's not been fixed.  I suppose that's because most people play Skyrim in 1st person most of the time, and don't notice the bug enough for it to get annoying.  But if you like playing in 3rd person a lot, it starts to become the most annoying thing in Skyrim :)

    Thank you!

Addendum: looks like there's another mod, LE, that tackles the same problem: Turning Animation Won't Affect Upper Body.  I need to get my chops back for the converting process, I've forgotten all about it! :)

It's one of the list of mods to tick/untick that comes up in the Nemesis patcher, too.

Further addendum: this post here it looks like the guy discovered something by accident that might be the true solution to the problem, just getting the animation transitioning smoothly from "idle" to "xxx_ turn60".  Something Bethesda should have done years ago.

Are you sure about the conversion to be "needed"??
Something tells me it's enough if we tick the Nemesis box, no?
