so when my night vision duration is set to 0 it shut's off the night vision right away, this is with every night vision power in the game, only fix was adding 60 seconds on the duration

okay, i gotta say it, this is an absolutely amazing mod. really simple, but the result is perfect. and it works incredibly together with "enhanced lights and fx"

with "enhanced light and fx", it is so dark in dark places such as unlit dungeons or forests at night that you absolutely need a source of light or you'll be playing guessing games with the shadows and silhouettes, because in vanilla game you don't need any source of light or night vision. torches work well, but they naturally have a limited range. candlelight has better range and luminosity, but it's still limited and can be blinding in some situations. and all light sources also have the weakness of greatly hampering stealth. so the modified night vision effect comes in as an extra option with different pros and cons.
first of all, it looks great, you can see very clearly even in the darkest darkness, and the visual has a whit-ish saturation to it, it feels like actual heightened light sensitivity and not just a "switch on the lights" effect. also, light sources and lighted areas appear extremely saturated, slightly dazzling, which reinforce that feeling of night vision. and finally, in very clear and luminous areas you will be totally blinded by night vision, in snowstorms during day time your screen will turn all white with some blurry shadows.
all that really make the night vision immersive, it feels incredibly useful, even broken, yet you are still incentivized to turn it off, and the visual difference is so clear that you will never have a doubt on whether or not night vision is active no matter the ambiguity of the light level around you.

i really regret that i can't do more than endorse the mod and comment to show my appreciation...

I don't think it works with Better Vampires. My nights are really dark with Raid Weathers and Lux, but this mod doesn't seem to make any changes with the vampiric night vision.

I don't think this mod works with vampiric thirst, tried putting it below thirst in my load order and the vampire sight still kinda sucks. Anyone know a way to fix it?

This is a great mod! I've used it before and it works reliably, but I've got a question about compatibility. Do you think this would work with the "True Sight" power added by this mod? Given it works the exact same way as the vanilla night vision powers, I would imagine it does. Thanks again!

I just tested it, and it appears as though True Sight in UCL inherits the brightness added from this mod, but not the infinite duration and toggle ability. I'm not good at using SSEEdit or the CK at all, but I assume I could just load it in CK and have the power point to the vanilla Night Eye magic effect, right?

Edit: That is exactly what I did (except in SSEEdit) and it worked perfectly. I love how I answered my own question! For anyone else interested in using SSEEdit to manually make a modded sight spell compatible, change the spells magic effect to "NightEyeEffect "Night Eye" [MGEF:0006B10C]" and set the duration to 0.

    Excellent work!

Seems to be working nicely with Requiem vampire and cat visions.

Can I use this with Rudy ENB?

Unfortunately, ENB overrides ImageSpaceAdapters. This is not something with this mod in particular. It affects vanilla night vision as well.

Great mod overall. The only comment I have is that the bloom seems to be a bit much (I use vivid weathers for lighting.)
A few examples at night, VW night brightness on 1:
A flaming brazier has just a cone of yellowish light above it, no individual flames visible.
A moment later. A dragon lands and is completely obscured in an opaque white cloud. (instead of just a bit of dust.)
Above mentioned dragon's breath is completely opaque and has harder edges. (fades out at the edges more abruptly.)
The aurora is almost completely washed out. It appears as a white band with a little color on the edges.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll do some extra testing with VW. I mostly use the mod with Obsidian Weathers and Enhanced Lighting for ENB.

Edit: Run multiple tests with VW, and what I see is that it doesn't darken things that much by itself unless you go all the way down to "doom" nights/dungeons. Only by adding Relighting Skyrim and ELE I got things dark enough that this mod would be a good fit.

That said, a number of the issues you mention are kind of unavoidable if night vision is made "stronger". A brasier for instance by definition makes things not dark, thereby blooming out of proportion when looked at with Night Eye on. Same for dragon breath. As for the opaque cloud upon dragons landing, that is just regular light reflecting on the dust the dragon raises, amplified by night vision.

Also, note that this is not unrealistic at all. If you stay for a few minutes in a completely dark room and suddenly turn on the lights, your dilated pupils will let so much light into your eyes that for a moment you will lose all ability to distinguish subtle differences in bright things. Unfortunately, the game does not, to the best of my knowledge, support disabling and enabling these abilities depending on light conditions, much less what the player is actually looking at, which would be required for automatic adjustment the way your eyes do in the real world.

    Hi! Nice work!

This question may sound lazy, but could you add some tweak to make the night vision mode with no cooldown? It's a little bit unconfortable. Sometimes the cd finishes in the middle of the combat and i have to pause, open favorites... some situations could be more fluid having no cd.
    Thank you!

Hey! Thanks for your feedback. I also think the timer on night vision is silly, given it's an at-will power. That said, I purposefully avoided changing that in this mod because that would intrude with other mods that touch on powers. As an example, Enai Saion's mod Sacrosanct gives vampires an unlimited duration night vision, and Imperious does the same with Khajiit. As it is now, my mod works perfectly in tandem with those, but if I change that in my mod too, compatibility could be compromised.

I will check how hard it would be to make such a change in a separate plugin.

Edit: I went ahead and added a separate plugin to make Night Vision and Vampire Sight powers toggles. Let me know how that works for you.

      I love you so much.
i've been testing a bit and it works very well. No bugs, no CTDs. I can post my modlist if you want, so you can see with which mods the puglin seems compatible. Also, if I have any issue in the future i'll post it. The only minor thing is that it changes the language of the power's name. I play the game in spanish and it displays in english now. But i can barely think this as a problem considering how fluid the combat is without the timer.
Thank you for your work, you're awesome.

Nice hearing it's working well for you. The language thing is unavoidable without making language-specific versions of the plugin. You can use SSEEdit to change the power name and description to your preferred language.
