Currently getting back into Skyrim, and thus, I'm working on an update for the mod! (It will be more of an overhaul than a simple update, I don't recommend replacing 1.3.1 with 1.4 in existing playthroughs) However, I do not have as much time to work on it as I once did so I cannot guarantee when it will be released or what/how much more content will be in it, but I will be using elevenlabs.io for some new dialogue for the new unique and generic characters.
Some of the biggest complaints I've noticed about the mod are due to the random worldspace edits (Which were stupid, and I apologize for) and vampire attacks. Vampire attacks, at least in their current form, will be removed from the base mod, and I will likely create a submod that adds them back in, for anybody interested in the chaos that comes with that. Almost all previous worldspace edits will be removed. There will be some actual locations (not randomly placed chairs and such) added by the new version, but their exteriors have been made in such a way that they are completely contained inside 1 exterior cell. All Npcs that were previously spawned (sometimes in mass) in the open world, taverns, etc., will all now either spawn in my newly created interior cells, the exterior cells they are linked to, or in small groups throughout the world.
I will do my best to make the new version as compatibility friendly as possible, any advice on this would be much appreciated. I also apologize for any of your playthroughs potentially being rendered ruined or less enjoyable due to my mod.
It would be fantastic if you could configure the frequency in which different npcs/events spawned through an in-game MCM, I dont know if that would be possible, considering the time of the latest update, but anxiously awaiting nonetheless.
Thank you for leaving a comment! I will look into creating an MCM menu for the mod, but as that is outside my area of expertise, I won’t guarantee anything. (I’m not very good with scripting, and none of the NPCs are spawned via scripting, simply placed in the world, so it may not even be possible) I’ve considered creating a sub-mod that would place more NPCs into the world for those who want a more populated Skyrim, if this is something people would be interested in.
Edit: Some NPCs are now spawned via scripting, but only as quest related events.
Love the additions this mod and trailblazers provide (which as far as i understand is based off of your mod). Unfortunately, due to the worldspace edits and lack of patches this is very hard to integrate into a big modlist.
Thank you for leaving a comment! Most of my previous world space edits will be undone in the newest version (I didn’t really know what I was doing back then, I’ve since learned a lot), and while I don’t plan on working on this mod indefinitely, I will do my best to create patches for compatibility with other mods upon request.
This is great. Do you plan on adding a sort of "Immersive NPCs in the Dark" sort of behavior like the oldrim mod? I always found it odd that during particularly dark nights or interiors that all NPCS just have night vision.
As far as custom/scripted behaviors go, I don’t have any plans for that in this mod. However, most of my NPCs will have torches that they automatically equip at night, for that slight touch of immersion.
Boy, one of my biggest wishes is that someone would take this mod and do some remaster of it, a light version, a version with less npcs or remove the unnecessary clutter and interior changes. The variety it adds is cool, but it definitely needs an update.
What timing! The new version will be toned down as far as total NPC population, variety will increase, and much of the unnecessary world changes I made will be removed. Thank you for your interest in my mod!
Thank you for your reply! I had no idea you were still active, this makes me really happy.
Don't take what I've said the wrong way. I really like your mod and really want to keep it in my load order, thus the constructive criticism. Knowing that you're still active and working on an update just got me super excited! Thank you for your work.
EDIT: Just read your sticky comment. Welcome back. Skyrim modding has been crazy good the last year and two :)
Hello I've made a french translation for your mod, regarding your permissions I will upload it on Nexus (and give you full credit ofc) if it's a problem just tell me 😊
I've had this mod installed for a while. It's not causing crashes, naked NPCs, invisible torches, or any of the problems mentioned below. I don't think those problems are caused by this mod. It's been working perfectly. It adds so many NPCs of different types moving around Skyrim, including some large groups of civil war soldiers. Don't be put off by people that don't know how to manage their game.
