Version 2.0: Big update as I had to rewrite the whole mod from scratch due to issues I was running into while trying to add new ideas. Choice options now begins with 3 paths leading to 7 corresponding roles. Quest log now displays simple objectives at the start and brief background information about your path upon moving to your starting location for added immersion and role-play purposes.
Version 2.1: Small change to Adventurer Start's equipment to better reflect armor added from BS:Bruma as user suggested
Notes: This should be safe to update since this mod only affects the start of a new save anyways. Thanks to those who posted suggestions and ideas, hope you enjoy the way I implemented them!
It does work, you probably just installed Bruma improperly (pretty easy to do, happened to me before, user has to rename the 2nd and 3rd downloaded files in the mod name dropdown selector thing in the FOMOD installation process, otherwise the 2nd or 3rd file will completely overwrite the first or 2nd file). I just started a new playthrough yesterday to test this, I chose to start as a guard in a Bruma guardtower, it worked. I use Mod Manager 2 btw, seems Vortex causes extra issues for more users trying to get Bruma and related patches to work properly...
hello i have sugestion to add to soldier start few conversations and orders to go to skyrim to help with civil war and add a few guard quests to guard start
I second this emotion. Starting as the fleeing Talos worshipper and then getting waylaid and put on the cart as soon as I crossed over the border would be perfect for my character concept.

I'm running the new version.
I wish there was a patch for this mod too, though. The starts in the linked mod are different. Nice to have more options.
