I am using improved rain and fog for cathedral, storm lightning and R.A.S.S. but I don't use true storm and wet and cold so do I need a patch from optional files???

Does anyone know if its necessary to use the full patch even if I only use Wet & Cold Gear? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54876

What if I use Wet and Cold and IRFCW but not the other two mods? Do I just download the main file?

You might try RASS instead of Wet and Cold. It's much more compatible with stuff out of the box. And as stated on IRFCW it's already compatible with Diverse Seasons as is.

I just tried Seasons of Skyrim (its a BLAST :D:D:D:D)
But my precious Immersion got interrupted by heavy Rain while the Terrain was snowy :O
The Rain would normally wash away the Snow, it looked really confusing.
Will i see no Rain in Winter with this mod?

Did you ever find out if this did anything about rain in snow? I've been setting up a new mod list and had seasons of skyrim slotted in alongside Cathedral Weather, and having just noticed this mod it got me a bit curious.

Since it uses the same script, I assume it's safe to uninstall the script without damage to the save, in case I wanted to go back to the old one?

I installed this hoping to decrease the frequency of raining in CW, but it's still tropical jungle climate with daily downpour. Is there any actual way at all to make rains happen at more sensible intervals?
upd: set GlobalSeasonClearMultiplier command doesn't change anything even when set to 10

So I am using latest Rudy ENB SE for Cathedral Weathers (v.6.1). I followed the detailed install directions there, installing all recommended mods. It seems to work very well. However; I love the concept of this mod, and especially, I want to REDUCE (but not eliminate) the occurrence of rainy weather in general. My questions:

    1) Is this mod, Cathedral Weathers - Diverse Seasons, compatible with that mod, Rudy ENB SE for Cathedral Weathers? There is a very old comment on the Rudy page that the two mods are not compatible.

    2) How do I generally reduce the rainy weather in Skyrim SE?

    Thanks so much!

This mod was made when I still had my old machine that couldn't run ENB, however now with a new computer I can and I also use Rudy ENB. With version 6.0 and onwards, Rudy's edits are now a separate file as opposed to editing the original Cathedral Weathers file. The only thing I had to patch for my load order was the WeatherPineForest region (Rudy's edits were overwriting my probability changes), and storm weathers to add sounds from True Storms.

      What I would suggest:

      • Install this mod.
      • Install Rudy's ENB and load weather edits from it after all files from this mod and its requirements.
      • Forward my probability changes to WeatherPineForest (ideally in a separate ESL-flagged file, you can easily do this in xEdit).
      • Optionally, if using True Storms, forward thunder sounds from True Storms to any weather that has StormRain in its editor ID (I did it for 4 weathers).
      • Optionally, if using True Storms, look through the regions are remove TS weathers. They won't cause any issues, but you might find them looking inconsitent with the ENB (Rudy put a lot of care into editing weathers and making specific ENB settings for each one, so weathers from other mods won't look as good). I didn't do it at the moment for my load order.

As for rain, you can use the console to adjust the sunny weather multiplier (explained in details in the mod description). This won't reduce rain probability specifically, but increase it for sunny weathers, so this would also reduce fog and cloudy weather chances. If you want to reduce just the rain, you can edit the script included in this mod and reduce the numbers there. This script is an edited version of the original one from Cathedral Weathers to add separate settings for each month, and separate out fog and storms. Even if you don't know Papyrus, it should be easy to find the right number to change. For example, this section sets the probabilities for Sun's Dawn (February). If you want less rain in that month, change the numbers at GlobalSeasonOvercast (overcast/light rain) and at GlobalSeasonStormRain to smaller values, or alternatively, increase the others (they aren't percentages and don't need to add up to 100). You can then recompile the script using CK.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply and wealth of info! I am still learning my way around SSEEdit, so it will take me some time to digest and implement this.

Is the console command you gave for all of vanilla Skyrim or only for your mod?

Well, the console command 'set' is part of Skyrim, but the global variable is only for this mod, the script that adjusts probabilities uses it to increase the value for clear weathers. You can see in the example screenshot in my previous reply that the value at GlobalSeasonClear is not just 7, but 7 * clearMult, clearMult being the value of the global variable you can set using that command. By default the value is 1, so it has no effect, but if you change it to 2 for example, it will make it 7 * 2 = 14, which should make sunny weather more common.

It's certainly worth to know at least the basics of xEdit as a mod user, it's extremely helpful if you want to resolve conflicts or make tweaks toi mods you use, and (in my opinion) it's much easier to use than CK.

      @Voeille

Thanks for the explanation. I am using Cathedral Weather for my latest game, and my Lord, it is so depressing. It has been a hundred days (game time) and I am yet to see a complete full day of sunshine. It rains, and rains, and rains everyday, often for the whole day. There hasn't been a single morning where I wake up to a brilliant sunshine. Only rain and overcast.

If I fast travel from a sunny spot, I can guarantee you that it will rain when I arrive at my destination. If I enter a building when the sun is shining, I can guarantee you that it will be raining when I exit. Dyndolod has become totally useless as I can't see anything further than a few yards in front of me. I am switching to another weather mod for the next playthrough. In the meantime, I want to try this mod to amend the current situation, but is it safe to install this midgame?

Can we get diverse seasons for Azurite Weathers?

I really want to switch to Azurite weathers, but sadly there is no diverse seasons support for it :(?

Too much fog. Also makes Cathedral snow grass (which I hate cause of density) too bright.
