Since version 2.0.0 the mod now uses Address Library for SKSE Plugins. The mod should work on all versions newer than 1.5.39, but keep in mind that I officially support only the latest version (1.5.97). Please do not report issues if you're using an older version.
SkyUI and SSE Engine Fixes (with MemoryManager patch enabled) is highly recommended.
The mod comes with an .ini file that allows you to customize every aspect of the mod. It can be found here: Data/SKSE/Plugins/SkyrimSoulsRE.ini For example, you can disable the movement in menus if you don't like it, enable slow motion, set certain menus to be paused, etc.
Movement in menus using keyboard/mouse: Use WASD (or whatever you have movement mapped to) to move around and your mouse to navigate the menus. The menus itself will not react to WASD buttons. Move the mouse to the edge of the screen to rotate the camera (like in dialogue menus).
Movement in menus using controllers: The following changes will apply: - Use the left stick to move and the D-pad to navigate in the menus. Make sure you're not using mods that disable the D-Pad navigation in menus. - If you also enabled the camera move setting, use the right stick to move the camera. To rotate items in inventory, press on the right stick to maximize the view first. - If using SkyUI, use LB and RB buttons to change categories in the favorites menu. If you like the movement in menus, and wish to extend this to the Dialogue Menu, check out Dialogue Movement Enabler.
Change the location of some hooks to reduce false positives in crash-logs.
Disable movement in crafting menus (prevents player from leaving the crafting station when a MessageBoxMenu is open which causes CTD)
Fix Map Menu clouds not moving or jittering.
Fix child worldspaces showing up in the parent world map in Map Menu.
Fix for newly loaded cells showing up as black squares in Map Menu
Changed the method some of the other Map Menu issues are fixed, so it is more reliable.
The Map Menu marker now always shows the correct player location in real-time.
Auto-move now possible in Map Menu.
Fix for keyboard layout/language not updating properly when changed.
Improved way to disable background blur.
Improved the thread-safety of the mod when doing UI tasks.
Menu instance caching - can reduce the stuttering when opening menus, noticeable with some of the heavier GUI mods. This is highly experimental and disabled by default.
Lots of internal changes.
1.6.1130 and newer only: fixed CTD when serving time in jail
1.6.1130 and newer only: fixed RemoveAllItems not working
Is there a patch or is a edit possible where WASD keys are disabled on inventory menu while the inventory remains unpaused? I prefer using WASD to search items in inventory.
I have the same request. I even tried the previous mod SkyrimSouls - Unpaused Game Menus but its outdated and its said to use this mod here. Problem is that this mod changes WASD to control the character, but i want WASD to navigate through menu.
@Vermunds @author Could you please make this happen? Maybe a ini-setting or something?
This person is correct. I went into Skyrim Souls RE - Updated's ini, and completely deleted every tweak that changed Journal functions. As a result, in my setup where I am using Quest Journal Overhaul, I am able to play without crashing on boot. Runs perfectly.
This mod adds a sense of tension to the game and makes combat more engaging by encouraging players to think and prepare more carefully. However, I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced a bug like I have — where, seemingly at random, after closing a menu (like the journal or inventory), time continues to flow extremely slowly for about a minute, almost as if the game is frozen. It’s completely unpredictable; sometimes I can go an entire day without it happening, and other times it occurs multiple times in a single session.
Hello. Just wanting to ask for some advice on a minor issue I've encountered; so clicking my mouse/M1 input triggers my attack action at the same time as I click in the unpaused menus (e.g. looting a weapon, drinking a potion). Now this wasn't happening when I first downloaded the mod, however after I updated my mod list, the issue started to pop up. These are the recent mods I've installed that could be the culprit (other mods I've added are animation replacers so I won't include them) - Smooth Input - Input Buffer - Disable Turn Animation SE / AE - OnHit Animations Framework - FlinchingSSE - MCO Block Recovery - Cancel Attack for MCO-ADXP
Any advice would be appreciated because this is actually great mod. Thanks in advance!
i dont know if its an incompatibility or me configuring skyrim souls incorrectly but i've been having trouble making this work with soulsyhud. nothing bad, but i use controller and when in menu's i cycle through items when i add anything to the corresponding cycle. so like, if i press dpad right it does add the item, but the soulsy hud menu pops up and cycles to the next item, usually the one i just added, which isnt supposed to happen. any advice on how to fix this or is this something i can't fix?
sounds like a problem with conflicting mods. I'm running Skyrim AE on a potato of a machine (intel i5 with a craptastic gtx950 and 16 gigs of ram) and this mod works perfectly for me. Try seeing if you have some conflicts somewhere?
A note to those who are modding noobs like me, the ini file that you want to edit is found in your Skyrim Game files, not in the mod files that Vortex takes you to. I couldn't figure out why the changes i was making weren't doing anything.
So you want to go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins
Not here: C:\Users\*yourprofile*\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\mods\Skyrim Souls RE - Updated (Anniversary Edition)-27859-2-4-0-1708891708\SKSE\Plugins
@vermunds can you please make this clearer by using the full file path in your stickied post:)
Thank you as well. @ Everyone who's replied. I ended up installing another mod (Skyrim Souls RE - Semi-unpaused and slow-mo) that slows things down a lot and has since been added to the mod collection. GTS LOTD AIO 69, now updated to version 72 as of this post.
I was also editing the wrong ini file, not the ones in the games directory. So I too wasn't able to figure out why my changes weren't having any effect.
So yeah, very misleading instructions for noob mod users. :/
