About this mod

Reeky is a custom voiced riekling follower with around 200 lines of dialogue and unique conversation scenes.
A blue little friend to travel with you around Skyrim :)
You can find him east of Windhelm in the newly added "Riekling Shack". He lives there.

Permissions and credits
I present you, Reeky, the Reekling follower :)
A curious little belifaka to accompany in your travels.

The spelling "reekling" is intentional, stop telling me about it, please :)

You can find Reeky in an old smelly shack east of Windhelm!
He lives there and will return there when dismissed. Ask him about it :)
You can live with him if you need to.It's a small place though...

Reeky has about 200 lines of dialogue, all custom made using the riekling voice files from the Dragonborn DLC.
I edited the voice files myself, and made new combinations and managed to even get some new vocabulary ;)

Reeky has some conversations with the player too!
When the conditions are met for a conversation to start, you will see the option "What's on you mind?".
Reeky will then tell you what he is thinking. Most conversations are very specific with the conditions, so you'll have to look for them. Take him to various places in cities and see if he has something to say :)

Some conversations have dialogue choices, and in some cases the choices depend on what stage you are in certain quest.
There is one conversation that will give you more options and a longer conversation if you meet the requirements.
Also, most conversations will only happen ONCE, so if you start asking him and leave the conversation, the game will take it as finished and it will never show up again.

In version 1.1, Reeky has conversations related to 2 factions that will happen at certain point in their respective main quest (see articles for details).

Reeky has a new conversation about his kind. This conversation is available as soon as you finish the "Bilgemuck" conversation :)
You can ask him about it at any Inn in Skyrim, but you'll only get one option to finish the conversation.
However, if your character has seen other rieklings or knows about them, you'll have more choices.
To learn about rieklings, visit the tavern in Solstheim and ask the bar keeper about their specialty.

Reeky has his own follower slot and script. He will not count towards vanilla follower count, so you can bring him along with vanilla followers, other mod added followers and animal followers. He will carry your loot if you ask him nicely, will do things for you if he can and will wait if you ask him to. He will return home if you dismiss him.

Reeky will fight using the vanilla riekling melee combat style, and will say some unique dialogue depending on the enemy type.
He will also comment on his surroundings, when the conditions are met.

Reeky is by no means full of features or anything like that.
He is pretty much a vanilla follower with more dialogue.
Don't expect something like Inigo or Lucien :)

INSTALLATION
1. Download and install with your preferred mod manager.
2. Load your save, then make a new save. Keep a back up of the old one, just in case.
3. Reload the new save (to avoid the "He doesn't talk to me" bug).

or

1. Drop the .esp and .bsa into the Data folder (seriously, though, use a mod manager for your mods).
2 & 3 should be the same as above.

These same steps can be used to update to the latest version.
(This plugin requires "Dragonborn.esm")

UNINSTALLATION

1. Dismiss Reeky. Also, take all your items and followers out of the house (if you leave anything in you WILL lose it)
2. Go to another interior cell (any interior would do, but avoid exteriors for safety) and make a new save.
3. Disable with mod manager or delete the .esp & .bsa from your data folder.
4. Load your save and you will get a message saying "Reekling Follower.esp is missing", click yes and load.
5. If your game loaded without problems, you are good to go :)

COMPATIBILITY
Reeky uses his own script to work, so he should be compatible with other follower mods, and mods affecting followers.
However, don't try to control him with other mods or you might break his script.

Reeky is NOT compatible with Reekling Home (this mod adds the same exact house to the same exact place).

~Disclaimer and Message from the author~
I created Reeky as a prototype for my upcoming MOD, which will feature multiple custom voiced followers, NPCs and dialogue scenes. I decided to release Reeky because after adding dialogue I thought some people might enjoy traveling with him.
I don't have much planned for Reeky after this initial release, but that doesn't mean I won't update. Depends on many other things.
Since Reeky is my first follower mod, he is not perfect and doesn't have many of the features other follower mods do.
But I think it's a good way to let people know what kind of followers I'm planning to bring into Skyrim :)
Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions or criticism!

And remember...

If you like the mod, please recommend it to your friends! ;)
If you didn't like it, then recommend it to your enemies! :D
