While it worked out of the box, i got CTD's with it. Crash log always directing to the lightning. Without light on or without this mod, the ctd's are gone.
I assume it has a fair share of problems with lighting mods/shader such as ENB shenanigans and ELFX or Lux. Other than that i love the idea of a subtle light
It has pre-set settings. So everything should work instantly. If something doesn't work - check all the requirements. SKSE and Papyrus Extender must match your version of the game, and be compatible with each other.
i tried it on a new skyrim files it worked, sadly it didn't work on my main skyrim file, idk why i think it's all correct, maybe there's some missing file that i didn't notice
I used to use this mod constantly a couple months ago, I just recently redownloaded Skyrim and while the mod still works fine the colour options and presets don't change anything it's always a white light. Has anybody else dealt with this? Could the newest update be messing something up on my end? The mod isn't being overwritten by anything and I don't think there's any incompatibilities in my load order. Thanks!
Awesome mod. Easily the best character lighting mod out there. Just a question, would it be possible to add the option to have hotkeys to cycle between the predetermined presets? Or a way to save your own custom presets? I'd be awesome if we could have a way of cycling through our own presets without having to manually change the settings every time. Thanks!
I no longer develop or support my mods for Skyrim. Finished with this game a long time ago. You can use my mod as you like. If someone wants to add or change something and publish their own version - you have all my permissions.
Thank for the mod! But I can't seem to make it work . I installed the .espfe version of the mod but the MCM menu won't appear. Can you give me a pointer on how I mess things up? I got all the requirements installed
Honestly, I have no idea. I myself have not tested this version, it was made by another person, so I can not say anything here. Usually, if the MCM menu does not appear, it means that there was some kind of error in the initialization of scripts, or MCM lags. You can try to use a mod that forcibly causes all menus to load. Or try another version of the mod.
Thanks for answering! Can I ask you about your mod weapon arts? Do you have plans to make .espfe version of it and distribute the skills to high level npcs (uniques/enemies) by SPID?
First...this mod is awesome! However it's not perfect as it's still unable to illuminate the character from both sides at once. What we really need is TWO independent light sources, so that one can be placed in front of the character (Head +100 forward) and one behind (Head -100 backward), which would result in true 360 degree illumination.
I'm not sure how feasible this is to implement or if you'd even be willing to do it but, if you did, it would catapult this mod to legendary status and would easily unseat Quick Light as the premier lighting mod.
I thought about it, but given how poorly Skyrim works with light sources - adding even more of them would obviously be a bad idea. Also, I haven't figured out a situation where such lighting could be used. Usually a non-shadow light source with medium intensity and very smooth fading placed above character head is enough for all-side character lighting.
Yes, I agree with @Azazellz, Skyrim very poor working with lights sources. Very sad that engine have limitation for 4 lights cast shadow, really bad. Also I found if using wearable light casting shadow and walking around, then sometimes happen random CTD - really sad that diagnostic. I thought it something with my mod list, but when didn't wear that light, then game working stable without CTD. I really like to use ligths in game, that is why I like that mod and Light Works and Magic modified. @Drscott11, if you need lights for screenshot, then you can try Light Works and Magic, there need to change intense for lights and set cast shadows. Actually cast shadow light looking more better on character face for screenshots. That is my old screenshot with two lights on the left and on the right. Really old screenshot, but can explain how light mods can be using for screenshots
For me the light doesn't work when I don't have my weapons drawn. It used to work so it's probably a conflict with another mod, but I'm unsure which. Maybe Improved Camera?
Perhaps something is intercepting control over the activation mechanism or keystroke logging. Not sure. But there is nothing I can fix here. I no longer supporting this mod. There was another version on the site from another person, with advanced and simpler settings, you can try asking there.
Trying it out with Anniversary edition 1.6.640 at the moment, will report back how it works. Just out of Helgen, works fine. Thank you for the great mod, bro! It deserves hundreds of thousands of downloads, the fact is the majority of Sky gamers even don't know about it yet.

If you reassign "Use" action to another button, then the light will turn on from another button too.
